in a few routes, the population is not informed which routes these are and at what time intervals. If there are alternative bus lines being created, there is a lack of public announcement. Late-hour transportation is then restricted to privately-owned vehicles and taxis, in what generates high costs, be it due to parking costs or the fees charged by taxis. To this effect, for the greater part of the population spending at night is directly proportional to transport-related costs. The more a citizen has to spend to move, the less he will be able to spend with culture and leisure. Most of the times these costs are a limiting or canceling factor in accessing the city’s nightlife. THE CHALLENGE REMAINS OF DEMOCRATIZING THE ACCESS TO THE NIGHT BY PROVIDING MOBILITY-RELATED ALTERNATIVES FOR THE WHOLE POPULATION.
