Abhaya Upachar Kendra is a commercial buildiing that intends to provide an innovative and iconic design for the area. It aims to create a sense of modernism in the lands of Kathmandu. The commercial building will serve as car showroom and office spaces where one can get an opportunity for growing their business with an experience of contemporary architecture.
The site can be approached through primary and secondary road. According to the building By-law, 40‘ high within 100’distance from Narayanhiti Palace boundary and 80’high within 200’ is permitted. As a result, site responsive design with an L-shaped foot print was proposed, utilizing appropriate space for commercial purposes by introducing terrace space on the fourth floor level.

Concerning the facade, alternately consecutive two floors are treated the same, i.e. ground and first floor, fourth and fifth floor are treated with full glazed windows, while second and third, sixth and seventh floor are wrapped with concrete envelop provided with ribbon windows, as shown in figure 1. A louvers utilized in ODU /utility spaces as shown in the same .
Structurally, Despite being an L-shaped building, no expansion joints was proposed. However, a thorough structural analysis was carried out with appropriate beam and slab dimension. Similarly, a maximum cantilever of 3500mm was proposed, with hunged beams introduced at the northward wing, as shown in the figure 2.

In terms of functions, the ground floor is intended for a car showroom, while the remaining seven floors are available for rent as office space. On the fourth floor level, a restaurant space was proposed, and the roof level was used for a sky bar.
A cantilevered (metal) canopy in ground floor as well as fourth floor has been introduced to break the monotonous effect of glazing. Detail show at A.

Hidden world resort is one of the project which was intended to bring the public to experience a wonderful view of the himalayan range seen from this site. The main USP of the site is the views. Concept for this project is basically recreating the natural ground. The site is a vacant , contoured land with level difference of 80m. A public road of 3m wide passes through the site.

Views from the site, itself is a USP of site. General concept for this project is recreating new ground on the top of the land utilized for main hotel block. While drop off block with certain BOH, is proposed on the way to top land. Guests are serviced to hotel block by golf cart. Total 100 keys are proposed including villas (#10 units).
MAIN HOTEL BLOCK
In terms of design, main hotel block is divided into three portion. Base, Body and Head.
Base:
The concept of recreating new ground leads to Courtyard space at +1883 lvl. The courtyard level can be approached from hotel drop off all the way from proposed ramp exploring the views seen from there. FOH is proposed seeking towards mountain views while BOH has been proposed behind the FOH. Hotel dropoff, health club pool, reception, lounge at lower ground lvl, all day dinning and speciality restaurant at mezzanine level, open lounge , banquet at new ground level and upper ground lvl serves as wedding destination area.
Body:
Main intension of design is to gain maximun views without any hinderance. So, Stilts (9mhigh) are introduced above courtyard level serving as open lounge area.
Head:
All the hotel rooms and sky bar at roof top acts as head of the entire hotel block. Concerning about the form, U-shaped footprint has been adopted with one Guest staircase, two service staircases.

Location = Suryabinayak
Swonigha: a word of newari origin, means kathmandu valley. It comprises of three major cities Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. This is fitting name for a project that aims to recreate tradtional fabric of these cities along with their co-existing intangible cultural heritage such as: performing arts, traditional crasftsmanship, food culture.
SWONIGHA:
The new Destination in Town comprises of a mix of different public squares, streets and buildings of various size and functions. here, traditional neighbourhood structure is designed to incorporate 5 star hotels, serviced apartments, villas, commercial pockets along with recreational facilities creating a synergy. This facility is designed as a destination point of the growing population of kathmandu valley and its increasing number of local and global tourists.

Sanepa commercial is a commercial building that intends to provide an innovative and iconic design for the area inspired by the skyscraper , Shard of London. Sanepa commercial cum residence was intended to generate rentable spaces for offices with a modern touch of architecture with toughend glass. This project was inspired by a skyscraper “Shard” , London. Essentially, the indoor-outdoor relationship between the public and nature was preserved.
