WELCOME TO CHANGE MAKERS
The Bodmin Changemakers aims to provide local residents with the skills to be a community champion and take positive action to address health and social needs in Bodmin. This six-month programme, organised by intoBodmin, focuses on creating a group of champions who will each develop their own project gaining skills in community organising, listening, project planning and measuring impact, that can be applied to the issues they would like to address.
The project is looking for 8 people who can commit 4 hours a week from November 2023 to May 2024. 2 half day’s per month will be led sessions and then additional time will be needed to reflect and deliver projects between these dates. As well as gaining new skills, the group will provide an opportunity for shared learning and peer support collectively working towards the common good of our community.
CREATING POSITIVE CHANGE TOGETHER
Your commitment is at the heart of our collective efforts to create positive change and build a stronger, more connected community. Here's what you can expect and what we ask of you:
Time Well Spent: You're committing to dedicating your time and energy to make a real difference. Your active participation is valued, and we appreciate your enthusiasm.
Engaging Sessions: We'll meet for two led sessions every month. These sessions, filled with learning, sharing, and collaboration, will be held on Fridays. The led sessions will run from 12pm - 2pm (talk to us if this is a barrier).
Flexible Learning: Between our led sessions, you'll have the flexibility to shape your learning experience. We estimate that about 4 hours per week will be needed for reflection and carrying out tasks. This can be done on your own time, allowing you to balance your commitment with other responsibilities.
Shared Growth: Remember, as you grow, so does our community. Your dedication will not only enhance your skills but contribute to the positive transformation of Bodmin.
Certificate of Achievement: To celebrate your accomplishments, we'll award a certificate upon successful completion of the programme. Attending the led sessions is a crucial part of this journey.
Together, Stronger: We're building on the principles of community organising: collaboration, respect, and empowerment. By working together, we'll overcome challenges, amplify our impact, and make our community thrive.
