“Who is who & doing what? Youth work and the implementation of the Youth in Action programme of the European Commission in the German federal states of Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Hesse and Lower Saxony” – this is the title of the present publication. What’s behind all this?

Following the “Midterm Evaluation of the EU program Youth in Action 2007 – 2009 on national level” (original: Zwischenevaluation des EU-Programms JUGEND IN AKTION 2007 – 2009 auf nationaler Ebene), presented by ISS-AKTUELL (Edition 1/2010, see p. 71) in total 1.928 projects were funded within the program Youth in Action in the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 in overall Germany, 621 in the German federal states of Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Hesse and Lower Saxony – starting with youth exchanges, the European Voluntary Service ranging to networking and trainings in all five actions. Already last year, we, CULTURE GOES EUROPE (CGE) - Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V. gave an insight into the work of institutions, groups and initiatives in the mentioned three federal states and to present selected projects with the publication “Who is who & doing what? Youth work and the implementation of the Youth in Action programme of the European Commission in the German federal states of Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt”.

You can “thumb through” the 2010 edition at: http://www.cge-erfurt.org/?page_id=46&lang=en. Also you can order the printed edition via office@cge-erfurt. org. The continuation of the project is in your hands: as announced this edition contains besides “old” and “new” entries from Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt also an insight into the work of institutions, groups and initiatives from Hesse and Lower Saxony. Also this year it was of utmost importance to picture the preferably biggest scope of different institutions, groups and initiatives and their projects – the base is the program Youth in Action and its five actions itself. You can read the online version soon; further we can mail printed versions of the 2011 edition to you, too. Please order them via office@ cge-erfurt.org. We, CULTURE GOES EUROPE (CGE) - Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V. wish you pleasant moments of reading and of course “creative copying”, “networking”, contact making and the mutual planning of future projects.

Markus Rebitschek Head of Board CULTURE GOES EUROPE (CGE) Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V.
