The Open Challenge Futurity
- Italy
Sharing the Co-Championship in the NCHA of Italy/NCHA Open Challenge Futurity with a 146.5 composite score was Federico Fanti aboard Sergio Traverso’s Spook A Boon (Boogie Boon x Spook A Taz).

“He’s just a great horse, we won last year’s Futurity together and it’s great to start the new season with a win confirming how solid he is. We had few bobbles during the first go of this event, but we managed to fix them and at the end everything worked out!”
Martina Annovazzi and Cheesecake Deluxe (Sannman x Poundcake Deluxe by Cats Quixote Jack) proudly owned by
Marco Salvatori, also closed the show with a 146.5 composite score to share the prestigious Championship.
“I’m really proud of the horse I rode and of course of the result, but most of all I’m really happy with the improvement she has made during the past few months. She’s really solid now, more connected to the cow, and also physically ready.”
Winning the Limited Open Championship with a 136 composite was Nicola Simone riding his own Tassa Cash MR. Reserve honors went to René Opitz aboard Million Dollar R Babe.
The Non Pro Challenge Futurity

Marco Salvatori riding his own Smart Iron Rey won the 2022
NCHA of Italy/NCHA Non Pro Challenge Futurity with a 146 composite score.

“I’m very happy with this win, especially because this horse is home-bred sired by our stallion Smart Rey Pepto out of one of our mares, DB Cats Sweet Lady by Sweet Lil Pepto. I’m also glad this show turned out very well even if some of the European riders were not able to attend, and what I like most is seeing that the level of the cutting really grew in the past few years, in the young horse classes as well.”
With a 144.5 total score, Greta Salvatori claimed the Reserve Championship riding Aftershock Rey .
