Futurity & Nations Cup
Once again the European Reined Cow Horse event brought thrills thanks to the great rides and the increase in entries. The prestigious Nations Cup and the second Derby of the season were also offered.

Athrilling evening of reined cowhorse action took place in Travagliato where the 2022 European Reined Cow Horse Association Futurity Champions were crowned.
Open Futurity
Italian professional rider Giovanni Campanaro qualified five horses in the Open Finals and closed his performances by taking home the Futurity Open Championship with Trix Aristocrat MR (Tassas Aristocrat x GH Dual Snappin) and a big 219 composite score for owner Matese Ranch.
With a 218 composite, Campanaro also tied for the Reserve Open Championship aboard Henry Royal Rey (Roany Rey x Mariah Pep), a 4-yearold stallion owned by Lorenzo Colombo. Tying for reserve with a 218 composite was Pietro Tuberga and Katrina Hope Olena (Oaks Lone Pepto x Haida Oleana), a 4-year-old sorrel mare owned by Domenico Sapino.
Level 1 Open Futurity
Sara Casalini and Gunner On Line, a gelding by Shine On Line out of Shyawhiz owned by Andrea Sanfelici, clinched the Level 1 Open Championship with a 216 composite.
The Reserve Championship, with a 214 composite, was for French William Coulomb riding Marie Mura's 4-year-old bay mare WR Shining Remedy (WR This Cats Smart x Shining Smart Remedy).

Non Pro Futurity
The Non Pro Futurity Championship went to Mario Petrosino on LR Spat Mokie Cat (ANS Mokie Cat x Of Spat), owned by Giuseppe Petrosino, with a 212 composite score. Petrosino, who was thrilled with the win, also took the Level 1 Non Pro Futurity Reserve Championship with a 212.


Matteo Ambrosini Nobili and Custom Spider Dual (Custom Blackberry x Girls Got Duals), owned by Vittorio Ambrosini Nobili, took reserve honors after collecting a total 209.5 composite score.
Level 1 Non Pro Futurity
Edoardo Ferro and Sperk Aristocrat MR, a 4-year-old mare by Tassas Aristocrat out of A Sparkling Vintage, took the Level 1 Non Pro Futurity title with a composite 214.5. Earlier in the evening, the duo had claimed the Non Pro Boxing Championship with a 216.5 score.
German Sophie Kruspe on Sharp Shining Gun (Sharp Dressed Shiner x Love A Little Gunner) was Non Pro Boxing Futurity Reserve Champion with a 204 composite.
ERCHA Nations Cup
The sixth edition of the exciting competition open to the best bridle horses in Europe was held on Friday evening with five nations competing. With a total score of 646.5, Team Italy rode to the highest step of the podium followed by Team Switzerland with a total of 638.5 points, and Germany with 628.
Bridle Spectacular
Swiss Antoine Cloux riding Brigitte Belin’s Wares The Nurse (WR This Cats Smart x Nurseware) took the lead after posting a composite 218 thus claiming the Spectacular Open Bridle and Nations Cup Individual Championships. Sharing the second step of the podium in both divisions were Italian professionals Giovanni Campanaro riding Bet Command Rey (Dual On Command x Dots My Bet) for owner Green Mountain Quarter Horses and Samuele Poli Barberis with Cats Got Freckles (WR This Cats Smart x Playboy Girls) owned by Luca Terzi. Both posted a 217 composite score.
The Limited Open Bridle Spectacular Championship went to France thanks to the composite score of 211 earned by Marine Richard aboard GS Top On Whizard (Sail On Top Wizard x Just a Little Slipper). Reserve honors went to German rider Patrick Sattler and Justa ShiningSparkle (Sharp Dressed Shiner x Justa Little Slipper) with a total of 211.
ERCHA Derby Open
Open to 4- and 5-year-old horses, two riders closed with a 217 composite score in the Derby Open opting for the Co-Championship: Italian Pietro Tuberga with Katrina Hope Olena (Oaks Lone Pepto x Haida Oleana), a 4-year-old Quarter Horse mare owned by Domenico Sapino, and. Italy’s Giovanni Campanaro on Dual Aristocrat MR (Tassas Aristocrat x GH Dual Snappin) for owner Antonio Marmo. The two combinations closed with the same scores in the three competitions (rein work, cow work, fence work).

Derby Level 1 Open
With a 213.5 composite, Germany’s Martin Schemuth and his TJ Sharp Dressed Man (Sharp Dressed Shiner x JK Gold Pine Dun it) took the lead.
Half a point behind, Sara Casalini and Gunner On
Eliane D. Gfeller Seiler rode her CR Rosie The Riveter (Woody Be Tuff x Gipsy Rose Rey) for owner Kathi Gfeller, to the first step of the podium of the Non Pro Bridle Spectacular with a total of 208.5. Vera Walliser on CD Fortunate Son (Stylin Dual x Mamaws Little Pepto) and Marie Mura with Woody Choco Pepto (Dualin For Me x Lolita Nic) shared the Reserve Championship.
Line (Shine On Line x Shyawhiz) claimed Reserve honors.
Derby Non Pro
Nicola Succu and Stilysh Sparkle (More Than Stylish x Sailing Sparkle), a 4-year-old stallion bred by Nicola Sperandio and owned by Alessia Campi, closed with a 213 composite taking both the Derby Non Pro and Level 1 Non Pro crowns. Giorgia Girardello and One Time Snapper (Oaks Lone Pepto x Genuinely Snapper) took second place in both divisions with a 206.5 composite.
Swiss rider Mariella Pfiffer and Dunit Whiz Smart scored a 205 winning the Derby Non Pro Boxing Championship ( Open to 4-, 5- and 6-year-old horses) ahead of young Anna Rodriguez riding Smart Chic And Star (Chuchic x BB Bright My Rose) by half a point.
Last year Gabriele Poli spent his summer vacation riding with NRCHA Million Dollar Riders Chris and Sarah Dawson in Perrin, TX. Longtime friends of his parents, Italian Professional Samuele Poli and wife Elisa, Gabriele had the wonderful opportunity of showing Hottish Desires at the NRCHA Snaffle Futurity presented by Metallic Cat.
