Dear readers! The International Amber Association is one of the leading organisation in the world, which gathers craftsman, producers, artists and scientists specializing in baltic amber. Since the begininng - 1996 - our main goal have been promoting amber itself and knowledge about this over 40 mln years old, magical and beautiful resin. With amber wishes, Ryszard Uliński IAA Chairman

ABOUT BALTIC AMBER

BALTIC AMBER owes its exceptional charm to its fascinating history spanning the period from the times when it was sticky resin dripping in the Tertiary forest at least 40 million years ago to the point when it was found as a small solid nugget on the Baltic beach. Baltic amber can be transparent, translucent and opaque, in rich shades of yellow, red, brown but also white, bluish or greenish. Baltic amber is also a witness of life dating back to at 40 milion years ago (!), thanks to inclusions in the form of small animals and fragments of plants. Today, just like ages ago, amber is one of the most highly valued and fashionable ornamental stones in the world. Many outstanding jewellery designers work in amber, setting it in gold and silver, often in combination with other precious stones including diamonds.
