CODICE FISCALE (tax code) UPON ARRIVAL, go to the Income Revenue Authority (Agenzia delle Entrate) to get your tax code (Codice Fiscale).

The tax code is REQUIRED for several purposes: to open a bank account, for accommodation lease, for health care, for a mobile card, etc.

Be aware that the “tax code” issued by “Studenti Online” is not the official one.

Documents required for the issue of the tax code: In order to receive your tax code, you need to bring your passport with you.

Please note that you are not required to book an appointment. You are advised to go as early as possible to the Agenzia delle Entrate office.

Procedure: 1) The tax code must be required at the Agenzia delle Entrate office.

2) At the office, click on the button labeled “release tax code/rilascio Codice Fiscale” of the reservation system device and collect the number.

3) Show your passport at the counter 4) Collect your tax code valid for all purposes.

IMMIGRATION ISSUES: THE RESIDENCE PERMIT Non-EU students: you must apply for a residence permit within 8 days from your arrival in Italy. Register asap at the Ravenna Campus International Desk in Via Baccarini 27 to make an appointment with the Immigration Office.

RESIDENCE PERMIT REQUEST: Documents required to apply for a residence permit: • Original and copy of your Passport and VISA • Original and copy of your Health Insurance • Certificate of enrolment at the university • Original and copy of a document proving your economic funds • Accommodation rent contract • Passport photo More information: www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/visa-and-rules-forresidence-in-italy/on-arrival-in-italy-declaration-of-presence-and-residence-permit-permesso-di-soggiorno RESIDENCE PERMIT RENEWAL: apply for a new residence permit 60 days before the expiry date.

IMPORTANT! As soon as you get it, you must hand in a copy of your valid residence permit to the Students Administration Office (Segreteria Studenti). If you fail to do so or you don’t renew it, your career will be locked and you won’t be allowed to book nor take exams.

ENROLLMENT 1. Use your UNIBO log in and password to enter Studenti Online and select the button “Register�;

2. Pay the tuition fees online by credit card or at any branch of Unicredit Bank using the payment code issued by Studenti Online;

IMPORTANT: during the enrollment period, you can make an appointment through the booking system available on Studenti Online registration procedure, to bring your documents on a given day and time.

ENROLLMENT 3. Hand in to the Student Administration Office (Via Baccarini, 27 48121 Ravenna -RA) the following documents: • a signed copy of your application; • the tuition fees payment receipt; • (only for EU or non-EU equivalent students) 1 front and back copy of your identity card or other ID document, and 1 passport photo; • (only for non-EU students resident abroad) copy of your passport and 2 passport photos, one of which must have been authenticated by the Embassy; • (only for non-EU equivalent students and non-EU students resident abroad) copy of your residence permit or the application receipt; • EU students: your qualifications and a certificate attesting the exams you have passed, legalized and translated or the Diploma Supplement; • NON-EU students: Declaration of Value of the qualification issued by the Italian Embassy in the country in which the qualification was issued.

Recognition of academic qualifications and shortened programmes If you have attended a study programme abroad without having obtained the relative academic qualification you can apply for exams recognition.

TUITION FEES A.Y. 2017-2018 All students pay based on their Equivalent Financial Situation Indicator (ISEE), irrespective of the degree programme that they enrol on. Full exemption is granted for ISEE values up to €23,000.00. http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/tuitionfees-and-exemptions/Tuition-fees To pay a tuition fee calculated based on your economic situation, you must submit the application before 15/12/2017.

If you are an international student, you cannot request an ISEE calculation, but you must submit the necessary documentation for verifying your economic situation.

Students who are citizens of the European Union (EU students) • total income received abroad in 2016 that is valued based on permanent parities and expressed in euros • assets held abroad as at 31/12/2016: immoveable property includes buildings only, based on the conventional value of €500.00 per square meter; moveable assets are valued based on permanent parities and expressed in euros Non-European Union students with equivalent status to EU citizens (non-EU equivalent students) The documentation must be translated into Italian and legalised by the Italian diplomatic authorities in the place of origin or, where this is required, apostilled according to applicable regulations.

• The composition of the family nucleus.

• The work activities of each member of the family nucleus in 2016, including any adult brothers and sisters. If any members do not work, the documentation must demonstrate their situation of non-employment or unemployment and the amount of any unemployment benefit or other benefits received.

• The period of working activity of each member (indicating whether the period was more or less than six months during 2016).

• The value of the income in 2016 of every member of the family, including any adult brothers and sisters and any other relatives aged 18 or over living with the student or, otherwise, the overall income value of the family nucleus.

• An indication of the size of the home and other buildings owned in 2016, in square meters; if the home is not owned by the family, the student must attach a special declaration issued by the relevant authorities certifying that no member of the family nucleus owns any property.

• The amount of any residual mortgage on the home and/or other property as at 31/12/2016.

• The value of the moveable assets owned by each member of the family nucleus as at 31/12/2016.

• Any documented invalidity or disability of the student.

HEALTH CARE EU students: in order to have access to the Italian health service, EU students should have their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).

If you do not have a EHIC, you have to get a private health insurance for the duration of the study programme, covering all risks (it does not include registration with the SSN nor a GP).

NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE (SSN) and General Practitioner (GP) If you wish to have a General Practitioner (GP) assigned to you, you can apply for voluntary registration to the National Health Service (Registration validity: January 1st – December 31st). HEALTH CARE Non-EU students: BEFORE leaving your country of origin, you should get a private health insurance, which must be approved and stamped by the Italian Consulate/Embassy.

If you do not have a valid health insurance upon your arrival: 1) You can get an INA ASSITALIA health insurance: • In a Post Office ask for a blank payment form (bollettino postale), and fill it in with the required data. Write the amount to be payed: 49,00€ for a six-month insurance; 98€ for a twelve-month insurance.

• Send a copy of the payment receipt via fax to INA ASSITALIA (Fax +39 063613626), enclosing a clear fax cover sheet with your complete name and personal information (date of birth, place of birth, citizenship, passport number). You can check whether your fax has been received by calling the n. +39 063611676.

• When you’ll receive the insurance contract, please read it carefully. Please consider that this insurance will expire on the same day as the stay permit.

2) You can also chose to get another private insurance.

SOCIAL SERVICES AND SUPPORT • Support services for students with disabilities Our welcome services offer support to student with disabilities or learning disorders to allow them to successfully complete their academic career. • Psychological Support (SAP) SAP offers support to University students suffering from emotional and relational problems, behaviuor disorders or are facing problems in their academic, working or personal life. BANK ACCOUNT If you need to open a bank account, the University of Bologna has an agreement with the UNICREDIT bank institute, where international students can get a prepaid card called GENIUS CARD which allows to: • receive and make bank transfers, receive study grants, tax refunds, etc.

• withdraw cash from automatic tellers machines At the bank you will always be asked to show your passport and tax code.

Make sure to have them with you.

SPORTS & STUDENTS ASSOCIATION The University Sports Centre can assist you and give you the information regarding any sport you wish to practice. In order to get sport discounts at Ravenna University Campus, you need a CUSB MEMBERSHIP CARD: • the card is needed in order to sign up and participate to summer and winter sport activities, contests and competitions • it gives you discounts for private gyms; • it allows you to use insurance benefits.

Starting university can leave you with a lot of questions, many of them can easily be answered by a current student.

Our Buddies are trained to support incoming students and they will work with you to release some of your worries, help you to integrate at Ravenna Campus and make sure you truly enjoy your time here.

REFRESHMENT SERVICES There are several areas equipped with tables, chairs, microwave ovens, drinks and snacks vending machines, etc. where you can bring and eat your own food at the University premises. You can eat your lunch at the Refreshment Points (“Punto Ristoro”): -Largo Firenze, 1, close to the Palazzo Corradini Central Library.
