With strong growth in residential, commercial & retail development along with industrial expansion in environmental areas, investment in green- energy products is at an all-time high. Today, this includes water purification, solid waste treatment, industrial waste and air-pollution control, all of which are more important than ever, especially with the introduction of Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology to the workplace. The government has recently introduced a number of policies to further support industrial growth and encourage more investment especially in factories and plants. For the past three years the Department of Industrial Works, under the Ministry of Industry, has been working closely with the show organizer, UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to organize major seminars and discussion panels on the future of Thai industries which dealing with the opportunities and challenges available through environmental technology and renewable energy. Each year entrepreneurs from across the country attend these seminars. The Ministry of Industry is honored to be associated with ENTECH POLLUTEC ASIA and RENEWABLE ENERGY ASIA – all part of ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK (ASE) 2016. The event will feature cutting-edge machinery, equipment and technology in renewable energy technology, plus the latest environmental protection and pollution control equipment that is capable of turning waste into energy.

OPENING DAY OF ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK 2016 - A WINNER!

ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK 2016 was officially opened yesterday with flair and excitement. UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the organizer of the prestigious event hosted the official opening ceremony. The show is now officially recognized as ASEAN’s Largest International Exhibition and Conference on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Technology, Pumps & Valves, Boiler and Pressure Vessels and more. The opening ceremony took place in the Grand Hall here at BITEC and was well attended by VIPs, entrepreneurs, investors, exhibitors, Thai and ASEAN Government Officials and journalists. The Opening Ceremony was jointly presided over by H.E. General Anantaporn Kanjanarat, The Minister of Energy. In his opening address, “Thailand’s Energy Policies”, the Minister of Energy said, “The Thai government stands firmly behind the use of renewable energy throughout the Kingdom. Modernization of the country’s energy sector is a top priority.” In his opening ceremony speech the Minister noted that, “ASEAN Sustainable Week 2016 will undoubtedly play a major role in supporting Thailand’s policy to promote the use of renewable energy sources today and in the years to come.” Mr. Manu Leopairote, Chairman of UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said in his speech that “Because of the success enjoyed by our customers over the past 12 years, ASE 2016 is set to welcome more than 24,000 quality visitors from 35 countries. ASE 2016 is more than 30% larger than the previous year.” The Chairman also expressed his deep appreciation to UBM’s valued exhibitors, eminent and expert Conference and Seminar Speakers, Delegates, Visitors, and Business Partners.

of Energy, Thailand, mentioned in a recent interview that one of the highlights of the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week is the first ‘EPPO ASEAN ENERGY FORUM’. The forum is being hosted by the Energy Policy and Planning Office, Ministry of Energy, Thailand. The objective is to educate and establish linkage with entrepreneurs in the energy sector and connect with academics and ASEAN Government Agencies from 9 major Energy Associations. These include: Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia along with Thai Entrepreneurs, Investors and Government Agencies.

This important forum will share concepts and capabilities of Thailand to ASEAN partners. And as a regional leader in innovative renewable energy and alternative energy the show is being welcomed by the Kingdom’s ASEAN partners. ASEAN representatives will share their experience and knowledge in renewable energy including energy policies and developmental plans for each country. The forum’s goal is for countries in the region to further expand and continue holistic development of renewable energy and energy conservation for the sustainable future. There are also excellent opportunities for business matching that will be of interest to all.

EXPERTS WERE READY TO HELP WITH SPECIAL SEMINAR

The Energy Talk seminar organized by the Thai Chamber of Commerce and UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. covered ‘the importance for entrepreneurs to promote energy efficiency.’ The presentation was attended by serious entrepreneurs looking for answers to increase and optimize effective energy usage in factories and the workplace. The Seminar touched on the many support measures for energy conservation generated by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency and the Ministry of Energy. Successful case studies were shared by private sectors including Managing Director of Richmond Hotel Group and representatives from leading retail companies i.e. Central, the Mall and Tesco Lotus.

A SUCCESSFUL AND PRODUCTIVE EVENING OF BUSINESS NETWORKING

The highly anticipated event was attended by over 300 representatives from ASEAN Government agencies energy associations, exhibiting companies, academic institutes, speakers, delegations and entrepreneurs. All were part of the energy and environment management sector from across ASEAN. The event was conducted in appreciation of all who have been a part of the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2016 and its success. The business networking event underlined the importance of regional business linkage and the need of promoting a regional business network which is key to 21st Century industrial progress. The networking that took place will undoubtedly result in stronger regional business ties. Business cards were seen being exchanged and informal discussions and contacts were conducted throughout the evening.
