Everybody Eats
Community Center | 2024
Motor Row District, Chicago, IL
Softwares:
Revit, Enscape, InDesign, Photoshop
Inspired by the ‘circle of life’ concept, this community center celebrates Chicago’s food culture and the historic spirit of Motor Row. Community engagement is encouraged through the thoughtful design that highlights interconnectedness, tree-like columns anchor the pay-as-you-go market, rising upward into a central garden to symbolize growth and stability. Arched glass partitions define the cooking classes, balancing openness with privacy, while the use of wood adds warmth and a natural sense of grounding. Thoughtful materiality and design seamlessly merge tradition, community, and renewal, creating a space that fosters connection and growth.
