SEO: No resting on your rankings! When you had your business website built, you made sure it was optimised for SEO so it would be easily found and ranked high by search engines. You created search engine-friendly content, inserted keywords naturally into the copy, and paid for quality link building.

But SEO doesn't stop there. With the way the digital world and search engines keep changing, SEO needs to be ongoing in order to be effective. Search engines like Google continuously bring out new products and update algorithms. It has changed how it handles local search, mobile search and redirection. What's more, Google wants to see links to your website on other sites too but these should be highquality sites. So you need to be up to date with Google's changes and evolve accordingly. Ongoing SEO is vital to your online success, and there are some basic tasks that must be done. Someone needs to monitor and review the results your SEO is bringing in. Analytics might show there's little traffic coming in, or that some pages just aren't effective. You need to continually review the analytics and make changes accordingly. Ongoing analysis of the competition is another aspect you need to consider. This will allow you to make changes as required to ensure you maintain your ranking. The most imperative task is of course, continuous content creation. Fresh content is essential, whether in the form of new pages, augmented content on existing pages, or blogs which are updated on a regular basis.
