How good is your visual content on the web? In our digital-crazy world, netizens are obsessed with social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. In fact, when searching for information about a company or product, people rush to the website and also check out the company’s presence on social sites.

There’s no question that visual content, infographics, photographs and videos play a critical role in attracting and retaining visitors. Marketing online has changed; visuals and images dominate over reams of written content or word-heavy blogs and articles. Why is this happening? For one, people’s attention span is decreasing. A 2015 study conducted by Microsoft revealed that we now have an attention span of eight seconds–making our attention span shorter than that of a goldfish (at nine seconds). Everyone knows and admits that we get attracted to visual content. It grabs our attention, and is easy to remember. After all, 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual. The human brain captures content presented in the form of an image in just a few seconds, so displaying attractive visuals will definitely grab the user’s interest and engagement. Research reveals that videos on landing pages increase average page conversion rates by 86%. And marketing with infographics are not only great for brand awareness and social media sharing, they are referenced more frequently, increasing reach. There is no denying the fact that visually attractive content helps to increase the engagement rate on social media. Posts with visuals receive 94% more page visits and engagement than those without.
