We Changed It Up! Configura Wraps Sold-Out CET Designer User Conference Configura held its 6th annual CET Designer User Conference Oct 9-10 in Grand Rapids, Mich., with the sold-out conference drawing 225 people.

Congratulations to the Winners of the 6th annual Best of CET Designer Awards Configura is pleased to announce the winners of the 6th annual Best of CET Designer Awards. This year’s competition saw a record-number of submissions in every category.

Save the date! The 7th annual CET Designer User Conference will be held Oct. 22-23, 2014.

Catalogues unveiled at the conference.

Configura unveiled Catalogues, a brand-new solution that will make manufacturers’ products available to thousands of CET Designer users around the world.

Catalogues officially releases on Nov. 18.

Nationally known “simplicity” expert presented.

New York City-based simplicity expert Irene Etzkorn keynoted the user conference. Etzkorn, along with SiegelVision colleague Alan Siegel, co-authored the book Simple: Conquering the Crisis of Complexity.

Spring Lake, Mich.-based izzy+ CEO and BIFMA President Chuck Saylor gave a “State of the Furniture and Design Industry” presentation.

The conference also included more than 15 breakout sessions led by Configura team members and CET Designer users.

Meet Maddalena Raimondo, CET Designer User

Maylee Lai, Employee of the Month

Maddalena Raimondo created the beautiful Best of CET Designer Awards first-place-winning rendering that’s featured on our November calendar.

The interior designer has used CET Designer for about seven months.

Maylee Lai compares Configura to a big family.

Working in the company’s Kuala Lumpur office for about a year-and-a-half now, she says, “Everyone looks out for one another. If you come across a problem, there is always someone to help or guide you. Everyone has something to offer; each is a teacher.”

“I’ve used many rendering software products, and CET Designer is definitely quick and easy to use,” she says. “CET Designer lets clients quickly see what the project can look and feel like, and helps them to make better decisions on finishes and other aesthetics.”

When she first started using the program, she would contact Configura’s Support and Training team for help.

“They were always great at solving any issue and guiding me in my learning,” she says.

Maddalena recently graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Montreal.

She also holds a diploma in interior design.

“As a young designer, I look forward to exploring the infinite possibilities of design and architecture in today’s world. We definitely live in an interesting era in which technology lets us to do things that were not possible before!”

Maddalena resides in Montreal, which she says is a wonderful place to be as a young designer.

As a QA analyst, she loves diving into software design.

“I like knowing that we’ve made users happy,” she says.

The most rewarding part of her work is interacting with the end users.

“They really appreciate when you show them some cool tips that help them to work faster. Also, by interacting with our users, you hear some really brilliant ideas from them,” she says.

Maylee graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biotechnology. In 2010, her career took a turn for software development when she joined a Belgian company involved in 3D printing.

She served as the functional analyst on a team that develops software for mass-producing customized surgical orthopedic guides.

Maylee was born in Ipoh, the capital city of Perak, a state north of Kuala Lumpur.

She is currently living in Petaling Jaya, which is about 20 kilometers from Configura’s office.

In her spare time, she loves traveling and meeting people: “There is so much to see and learn,” she says.
