Plandale appoints new Irish agent Plandale has appointed Irish Microfilm Services Ltd. in Dublin to represent their wide range of 35mm microfilm equipment and systems nationally throughout Eire. Irish Microfilm is the longest established microfilm bureau and hardware sales organisation in Eire, working in close conjunction with computer specialists, Irish Business Systems. The addition of the Plandale cameras, readers, plain paper printers, punches and sort/collators from SMA Schaut, Orgacard, Mikro Rama and Juki will strengthen their existing equipment and allow them to offer a complete 35mm system. MicroD International Service in the U.K. MicroD International and Dass Microfilm Ltd., have co­ operated together to form a new company Dass MicroD Ltd., with the sole objective of offering the MicroD film testing services in the U.K. MicroD International have pioneered the methylene blue test system in the U.S.A. Since 1974 they have developed a quality control for archival film backing the ANSI and ISO standards. With the formation of the new company Dass MicroD will offer a methylene blue testing service to all camera and processor users on a daily or weekly basis to suit customer requirements. As well as this service Dass MicroD will be offering kits for customer ‘in house’ use with a regular back-up of chemicals to maintain ‘in house’ usage. All the know how and experience of MicroD International will be available to back the new company, together with their wide range of safety equipment, targets and other accessories. The experience gained over the years by MicroD has indicated that only by using the purist materials will the accuracy of results, necessary to guarantee archival quality, be obtained. They have, therefore, developed techniques for assurance of the highest standard of materials necessary to give this service. These materials will be supplied to Dass MicroD and re­ packaged here for use in the Dass MicroD laboratory and available in the kit service for customer use. As well as methylene blue testing service, silver densitometry and iodine amylose testing is also available for the checking of film and papers.
