The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part XXIV

Summary of the presidents message

The Sunday Bible School on November 3rd, 2024 was held live, directly from the Communications Center of Radio and TV Web Maanaim, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros, Gilson Sousa and Josias Junior.

Message from pastor Gilson Sousa:

We greet all our brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting Sunday Bible School. The subject to be pre-

sented is the book of Revelation: the message of the Holy Spirit resonates in the midst of the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our day, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the answers given by various brethren to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies relating to Sunday Bible School.

Message from pastor Gedelti Gueiros:

I greet everyone with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the

questions posed.

“[...] even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.” Revelation 2:13

Question

[Answered through video]

What was the target that the enemy wanted to hit and destroy in the church of Pergamos?

Answer: He wanted to target and destroy the doctrine of the faith.

“[...] because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.”

Revelation 2:14

Question

[Answered through video]

Reading Revelation, chapter 2, verse 14, what is the prophetic application of the figure of Balaam and its purpose?

Answer: Introducing idolatry.

“[...] because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.”

Revelation 2:14

Question

[Answered through video]

What pretext did Balaam use and what did he want when he denied the prophecy?

Answer: He exchanged the value of prophecy for material values.

“They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteous-

ness;” II Peter 2:15

“Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.” Jude 1:11

Question

[Answered through video]

Reading Matthew, chapter 13, verse 31, comparing faith to a mustard seed, what was the result of the seed that the man took and sowed in his field? Apply your answer to your experience with faith.

Answer: The result is that the seed dies and a large tree grows in its place. This is what ha-

ppens with faith, when a man takes his faith and sows it in the field of his personal interest, and thus exposes that faith. True faith dies and in its place is born a faith that is only material and of appearance.

“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,” Matthew 13:31

We are looking at the history of the church. Of course, many aspects are available in literature, be they poetic, archaeological or scientific. But what interests us is to show our people the real situation we are living in.

The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part XXIV

There’s no point in talking here about churches of the past in a historical way. The struggle that was waged at the beginning of the church is the same one that is being waged today. The greatest struggle that we have and that came upon the early church was not simply one of attacking believers, starving them or taking them to the arenas. That was terrible and we are touched by it. But what is really happening today? Why all the fighting? When Jesus ended his earthly ministry, he was preparing everything for what was to come. It was a time when people would use philosophical resources. Man turned to philosophy. Philosophy brought some important aspects to man’s life. It brought about the formation of a man without God, but a man full of values. There’s nothing wrong with that. Philosophy covers the social and political field. But today nobody cares about that,

because these struggles have excluded all social and political feelings from people. Man doesn’t change his character through philosophy. Man’s change needs to be internal. It’s man fighting against sin, against what doesn’t serve him. The path of this life is open to everyone. But it’s very difficult to get off this path. And for many, there is no way out.

So what was the Church’s great battle throughout this period? In the religious reform of the 16th century, Luther showed that what was happening wasn’t right. Salvation was not by works, but by faith. It wasn’t faith in the object, in man, in what man creates. Faith is a gift from God. It’s not what you make. This faith is not saving faith. Saving faith is what the Holy Spirit works in your life. It is related to what you allow the Holy Spirit to do in your life. This is where the difference

between religion and work can be made.

What pleases God is man’s struggle to survive. This struggle is not his alone. It is within what the Holy Spirit gives. If man does not seek this, he cannot survive. That is why baptism with the Holy Spirit

is necessary. This is where the main themes of the religious reformation came from.

Salvation through Faith:

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” Ephesians 2:8

The universal priesthood of the believer:

“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” I Peter 2:5

The Bible as a rule of faith and practice:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” II Timothy 3:16

Jesus, the one mediator between God and men:

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,” I Timothy 2:5

The blood in the Old Testament was the blood of the animal, of the Lamb. But now, the blood was not that of the victim, but the blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit. So the Gospel is not a play on words, a speech or a pep talk. It is man’s need to live in dependence on God. Hence the need for baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Many leaders don’t want you to be baptized with the Holy Spirit because they don’t want to cede the governance of the church to the Holy Spirit.

Today, people have surpassed all boundaries: social boundaries, even the boundaries of reason. The world is completely disconnected from the Word,

from the Gospel. When man is living the Word, he asks what the Lord wants him to do.

So the whole struggle, at all times, has been against faith: the faith of the Word, the faith of the mysteries. Faith is having the Holy Spirit. You have as much faith as you have the Holy Spirit in your life. And you have as much of the Holy Spirit in your life as you heed what the Holy Spirit tells you.

We often want to serve God, but the obstacles are there. God’s work is that which brings man inner peace, the certainty of eternal life. If you pass today, who is waiting for you? The Holy Spirit worked in your life when you accepted the Lord Jesus. But now it’s a question of you walking on the path, led by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes people want God to fulfill their desires. It’s at the fork in the road that you decide, either to the left or to the right: to serve or not to serve the Lord.

May the Lord bless us.
