The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Part XXXIV

Summary of the President’s Message

The Sunday Bible School on May 12, 2024, was held live directly from the Domingos Martins Mahanaim, Espírito Santo, with the participation of Pastors Gilson Sousa and Josias Junior.

Pr. Gilson Sousa’s Message:

We greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting the Sunday Bible School. The topic we will continue to discuss is the Church and its mysteries, prophesied in the book of Song of Solomon.

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the answers of various brethren to the questions posed, and various experiences and testimonies regarding the Sunday Bible School.

Question

Reading Song of Solomon, chapter 2, verse 5, identify the prophetic meaning of the following expressions, applying them to the biblical doctrine of the Body:

a. Sustain me with raisins. Answer: food to sustain the journey;

b. Comfort me with apples. Answer: food to comfort the

journey;

c. I am lovesick. Answer: the need for the presence of the Holy Spirit.

“Sustain me with raisins, comfort me with apples, for I am lovesick.” Song of Solomon 2:5

This question is related to sustenance and comfort. The church must be nourished by these two foods: raisins and apples.

Raisins are food for long journeys, as they strengthen the muscles due to the glucose present. The sugarier they are, the more resources they provide to the body. The church needs this.

Apples, on the other hand, need to be consumed daily. They oxidize quickly and turn brown.

Spiritually speaking, we need what these two foods represent. Raisins - the Doctrine, the Word - sustain us for our journey. When participating in the Sunday Bible School, we follow the doctrine and are strengthened for a journey that requires the energy and power of the Holy Spirit so that we do not stray from the path. This is what the doctrine provides us

with. In this last hour, the Holy Spirit’s concern is that the brethren, the Church, are focused on and strengthened by the doctrine.

Apples, which are a type of short-lived food, refer to what we need in our daily lives, the word of comfort.

When it mentions raisins, the book of Song of Solomon says “sustain me” but for apples, it says “comfort me.” The comfort of the Word meets your need, your life. We see it, for instance, in the encouragement received from the message preached in the service – when you attend the service. The next day, the Lord provides more revelations for your life. This daily food brings us the comfort of the Lord’s presence.

Why are these two elements essential? Because the Body depends on the sustenance and comfort of the Lord. That is why the expression “I am lovesick” is mentioned. It is the Body’s dependence on the sustenance of the Beloved.

This statement is fundamental for our understanding. We are finalizing the study of the book of Song of Solomon, and we need to understand the importance of this food, the sustenance of the Beloved.

Question

How can the Faithful Church use the knowledge of the book of Song of Solomon to speak about the Project of Salvation? Which texts would you use for personal evangelization at this moment? Cite three texts, making the prophetic application. This question was posed because, at this stage of the book of Song of Solomon study, we

cannot admit that someone does not know of an evangelism verse within the book. Thus, in this study, the Lord’s purpose, among many others, is to prepare the brethren for evangelism with the book of Song of Solomon. We have the Word with all its richness and will use these resources for evangelism.

Question

Summarize the main doctrines learned in the study of the book of Song of Solomon.

The book of Song of Solomon contains various doctrines. All workers in the Church could testify to the book’s prophetic knowledge. The book of Song of Solomon shows the doctrine of grace, the rapture, and the baptism with the Holy Spirit, the work of Saul and David, and the doctrine of the blood of Jesus, of the Body, among others.

“He made its pillars of silver, its support of gold, its seat of purple, its interior paved with love by the daughters of Jerusalem.” Song of Solomon 3:10 (NKJV)

Silver speaks of redemption, purple speaks of the blood, and gold speaks of power. The pro-

phetic expression contained in this verse is the cry for the power of the blood of Jesus.

The doctrine of the Body (the Church, the Body of Christ) is expressed wonderfully. The bridegroom speaks of the form of the Church that pleases him:

“You are beautiful, my love, you are beautiful [...].” Song of Solomon 4:1 (NKJV)

Thus, we all had access to the doctrines of the Work of the Holy Spirit. These are the raisins, the doctrine that strengthens the church’s journey.

May the Lord bless us.
