The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part VI

Summary of the President’s Message

The Sunday Bible School on June 30, 2024, was held live from the Communication Center studios of the Maranatha Christian Church in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros and Gilson Sousa.

Pastor Gilson Sousa’s Message:

We greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting the Sunday Bible School. The topic to be dis-

cussed is the message of the Holy Spirit resonates among the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our days, in preparation for the Church’s rapture.

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented responses from various brethren to the questions posed, and several experiences and testimonies related to the Sunday Bible School.

Pastor Gedelti Gueiros’ Message:

I greet you all with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the questions posed.

Question:

Reading the texts of Revelation, chapter 1, verses 1 and 3, identify the prophetic context of the time of “soon.”

Answer: In both texts, the Holy Spirit informs the church of the prophecies that will be fulfilled in the time of “soon.”

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must soon take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John” (Revelation 1:1, NKJV).

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3, NKJV).

This question was answered with a video during the Sunday Bible School.

Question:

Reading the texts of Revelation, chapter 3, verses 11 and 20, identify the prophetic context of the time of “soon.”

Answer: In verse 11, the beginning of the time of “soon” in the prophetic period of Philadelphia. In verse 20, the end of the time of “soon” in the prophetic period of Laodicea. Pr.

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown” (Revelation 3:11, NKJV).

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20, NKJV).

The response given through the video is very interesting, as it has many revealed and profound aspects. However, for better understanding, there are two letters that comprise the period we are living in: Philadelphia and Laodicea.

In Philadelphia, the church prepares for its departure. It disengages from the world, and the events are under the Holy Spirit’s direction.

Thus, the faithful church is living in the time of Philadelphia. On the other hand, the unfaithful church is situated in Laodicea. In the time of Laodicea, we see a church in decline. It is a church that has lost its shine, mysteries, prophetic nature, and ministries.

When we observe the text in Philadelphia, we see:

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown” (Revelation 3:11, NKJV).

In Philadelphia, the Lord is saying, “I will not delay.” It is the moment when the faithful church lives with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the doctrine of Jesus’ blood, and spiritual gifts. It is the moment when the rapture of the church is expected. It is the moment when Jesus wants to reveal himself as the bridegroom. It is the moment when the Holy Spirit is acting.

However, in Laodicea, the text

says:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20, NKJV).

Thus, one thing is to say: “I’ll go there someday.” Another thing is to say: “I have arrived. I am at the door and knocking.”

All the appeals of this hour are for the door of the heart to open. That’s why we are imbued with this project of this last hour. We are not different, better, or worse than anyone. What we need is to believe, obey, and prepare ourselves. We want the Lord to accept us.

We must remember everything that Christianity and religion have forgotten: Pentecost, the blood of Jesus, the baptism with the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts. Due to the lack of this, churches around the world are closing. This is the time of the “soon.” It is the time when the church prepares to leave. We will depart. The “soon” creates this separation. The church that is in the “soon” knows that the moment is coming and it will ascend to eternity.

Question:

Reading the texts of Revelation, chapter 22, verses 6 and 10, we can identify the prophe-

tic context of the time of “soon”:

In the time of “soon”, the prophecies are not sealed, but open for the faithful church to discern the prophetic time in which it is living.

“Then he said to me, ‘These words are faithful and true.’ And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.” (Revelation 22:6 NKJV)

“And he said to me, ‘Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.’” (Revelation 22:10 NKJV)

The book of Revelation is concerned with revelation. It’s important to remember that in the time of “soon”, the prophecies are not sealed. The text says:

“And he said to me, ‘Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.’” (Revelation 22:10 NKJV)

The instruction is not to seal the word (not the letter) of the prophecy of this book. On the other hand, in Daniel the text says:

“And he said, ‘Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.’” (Daniel 12:9 NKJV)

The church is not concerned with the letter. Our concern is with the revelation of Jesus for the last hour. The book of Revelation is directed to this moment. The church will understand this moment from the revelations contained in this book

Our concern is to be under the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Question:

Reading the texts of Revelation, chapter 22, verses 7, 12, and 20, we can identify the

prophetic context of the time of “soon”:

In the time of “soon”, the faithful church keeps the prophecy and awaits the reward that the Lord Jesus has for those who await His coming.

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” (Revelation 22:7 NKJV)

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” (Revelation 22:12 NKJV)

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20 NKJV)

In the biblical text in Greek, the word “soon” is related to the Messiah, the church, the Messiah’s ministry in the church, and judgments. It is the story of the Messiah presented throughout all times of the church. It refers to the figure of the Messiah managing His ministry in His churches.

Some aspects show that the book does not have a chronological sequence.

In chapter 1, the text says:

“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.’”

In chapter 4, John hears:

“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.’”

At the first trumpet, John fell dead. It was the time of the church’s journey. But in chapter 4, John is taken into eter-

nity. So you can’t get into the book without the revelation.

Question:

Reading the texts of Revelation, chapter 22, verse 20, identify who is speaking?

Answer: The Lord Jesus says: “Surely I am coming quickly.”

The faithful church expresses its desire for Jesus to come, saying: “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

The doctrinal teaching we are participating in has brought an extraordinary benefit. The Holy Spirit is giving clear direction to His people. Therefore, spiritual gifts are necessary in the life of the church.

May the Lord bless us.
