The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part IV

Summary of the President’s Message

The Sunday Bible School on June 16, 2024 was held live, directly from the Communications Center of the Maranatha Christian Church, in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros and Alexandre Brasil..

Pastor Alexandre Brasil’s Message:

We greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting the Sunday Bible School. The topic to be discus-

sed is the book of Revelation: the message of the Holy Spirit resonates within the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our days, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.

Pastor Alexandre Brasil presented the answers of various brethren to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies related to Sunday Bible School.

Pastor Gedelti Gueiros’ Message:

I greet everyone with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the

questions posed.

Question

Reading the book of Revelation, chapter 1, verses 13-15, identify the prophetic relationship of Jesus with His Church.

“and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.” “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;” “His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters.” Revelation 1:13-15

Answer:

Verse 13:

• Long robe: king, prophet, priest and man.

• Golden sash: priestly garments (only mediator).

Verse 14:

• White hair: holy thoughts.

• Eyes like a flame of fire: gaze that sees all things, flame of fire that removes spiritual coldness. He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Verse 15:

• Feet that execute judgment: fine brass (polished copper) speaks of righteousness - (“by His stripes we are healed”, Isaiah 53).

• Voice like the sound of many waters: before the revelation, arguments are silenced.

In this question, we see the description that John gives of the Lord Jesus in His glory. John had the privilege of seeing Jesus as a man, resurrected and now glorified.

Question

Where is the aspect of Judgment in this prophetic relationship of Jesus with His Church?

Answer:

Verse 15 - Feet like fine brass: feet that hasten to judgment.

Fine brass or polished copper, speaks of righteousness. Feet that crushed the serpent’s head, overcoming the con-

demnation of sin.

It is the description of judgment and the haste that the Lord has. It is the same haste as the church. One day we will see Him face to face.

Question

Reading the book of Revelation, chapters 2 and 3, make the prophetic connection between each of the letters writ-

ten to the Churches of Asia with each operation of the Spirit of God, according to Isaiah, chapter 11, verse 2.

“John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne;” Revelation 1:4

If we were to give a complete answer, we would need more time, but we will point out what is essential. Studying the book of Revelation is a blessing for those who read, hear and keep it. One cannot achieve the secrets of this book through reason, though.

The book of Revelation is the “revelation of Jesus”, seen throughout the church’s history. In the early days of the Church, we see the manifestation of the Father in Ephesus, of the Son in Smyrna, and of the

Holy Spirit in Pergamos.

A great battle was established to remove what was taught to the church by the enemy’s opposition. The text regarding Pergamos clearly states:

“I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.” Revelation 2:13

In the time of Pergamos, the State absorbed a group of people who did not know Jesus, and Constantine, the “owner” of paganism, elaborated an edict (Edict of Milan).

In all periods, all seven spirits of God operate. In the first period it was the spirit of the Lord (Isaiah 11). It was the moment when the church began the doctrinal period. It was the great battle. It was the church’s function to say that the New Testament was not the Old and the people needed an operation of the spirit of the Lord. The apostles worked evangelizing and baptizing. Some went out to announce the operation of God. Miracles happened, and the Lord was present to sustain them. All seven spirits of God were present in this first period, as well as in the others. However, there was an emphasis on each period: throughout the church’s history there is a judgment for both those who are saved and those who are condemned. For some, judgment comes soon, but for others, it takes a little longer.

“Some men’s sins are clearly evident, preceding them to judgment, but those of some men follow later.” 1 Timothy 5:24

The churches were organized within each period. For each period there was an emphasis on a different topic. But at all times there was a full operation.

In Ephesus, the doctrine was based on the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and it was sure that those who accepted the Lord would die to this life but be resurrected to eternal life. Therefore, the church remained faithful, even through great persecutions.

In each period, the men that the Lord brought represented the operation of the Holy Spirit. The period of today is different from the others. There is a distinct emphasis on how the Holy Spirit acts today.

In the first period, John falls as dead, but from chapter 4 onwards, he is caught up. Time changes because John leaves chronological time and enters the time of eternity. In the church’s journey, there is a chronological and prophetic time.

Thus, the study of Revelation is not to satisfy curiosity but to

provide us with an understanding of where we are.

Question

Reading the Seven Parables of Matthew, chapter 13, identify in each of them the structure of a Faithful Church and an Unfaithful Church.

a. Parable of the Sower

b. Parable of the Wheat and the Tares

c. Parable of the Mustard Seed

d. Parable of the Leaven

e. Parable of the Hidden Treasure

f. Parable of the Pearl of Great Price

g. Parable of the Dragnet.

Answer:

a. Faithful Church: The seed | Unfaithful Church: Hard ground, shallow earth, thorns

b. Faithful Church: The wheat | Unfaithful Church: The tares

c. Faithful Church: The mustard seed | Unfaithful Church: A large tree

d. Faithful Church: Three measures of meal | Unfaithful Church: One measure of leaven

e. Faithful Church: The hidden treasure | Unfaithful Church: The field of religious interest

f. Faithful Church: Pearl of great price | Unfaithful Church: Other worthless pearls

g. Faithful Church: Good fish | Unfaithful Church: Bad fish

Attention needs to be given to the mustard seed. Jesus uses this element to identify faith. The mustard seed has an inner life, which is its relationship with God. Living faith is latent.

When faith is externalized, it becomes a tree. Faith dies and becomes the tree. The growing tree is the evil power. Faith is intrinsic and interior. When it is externalized, it becomes a religion.

May the Lord bless us.
