The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part II
June 2, 2024
Summary of the President’s Message
The Sunday Bible School on June 2nd, 2024 was held live, directly from the Communications Center of Radio and TV Maanaim, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros and Gilson Sousa.
Pr. Gilson Sousa’s Message:
We greet all our brothers and sisters with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting the Sunday Bible School. The subject to be presented is the book of Revelation: the message of
the Holy Spirit resonates in the midst of the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our day, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.
Gilson Sousa presented several brothers’ answers to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies relating to Sunday Bible School.
Pr. Gedelti Gueiros’ Message:
I greet you all with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the questions.
Question
Reading Revelation, chapters 2 and 3, what prophetIc relationship
do you identify between each of the letters written to the Churches of Asia and each parable spoken by the Lord Jesus in Matthew chapter 13?
Answer:
Letter: Ephesus | Prophetic Relationship: The Apostolic Church | Parable: Parable of the Sower
Letter: Smyrna | Prophetic Relationship: Church of the Martyrs | Parable: Parable of the Wheat and the Tares
Letter: Pergamos | Prophetic Relationship: The Imperial Church | Parable: Parable of the Mustard Seed
Letter: Thyatira | Prophetic Relationship: The Medieval Church | Parable: Parable of the Leaven
Letter: Sardis | Prophetic Relationship: Church of the 16th Century Religious Reformation | Parable: Parable of the Hidden Treasure
Letter: Philadelphia | Prophetic Relationship: Spiritual Revival Church of the 18th Century | Parable: Parable of the Pearl of Great Price
Letter: Laodicea | Prophetic Relationship: Church of the end times | Parable: Parable of the Dragnet
The subject of the book of Revelation is something that attracts attention, even for peo-
ple who don’t know the Word of God. The big problem when it comes to Revelation is people’s understanding of the book.
The book is about revelation. The book is essentially prophetic. So anyone who doesn’t have revelation doesn’t have prophecy.
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
In the book of Daniel, the words were sealed.
“And he said, ‘Go ypur way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.” Daniel 12:9
But in the book of Revelation, it’s different because the book concerns the time of the church in the world. There is an action of the verb, something that is proper to the Lord. When we talk about time, we talk about logos. The words “verb” and “logos” are also used in philosophy, referring to the measurements of the universe. God’s logos is the time in which the action of the verb takes place, without asking permission.
The project is prophetic and takes place because of the action of the verb and time, the logos. There are two times: the first is the time we know, Kronos, which refers to man’s time. The second time is Kairos. When it comes to spiritual things, time is Kairos, God’s time. God’s time is measured by God’s prophetic acts.
The book of the prophet Isaiah clearly sets out the action of the Holy Spirit under different emphases, in each of the times of the church, recounted in the
“The Spirit of Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.” Isaiah 11:2
There is an emphasis for each period of the church. For each letter there is an associated parable. Each letter will be looked at throughout Sunday School. The operation in the first church (Ephesus) was the Spirit of the Lord, where everything was structured for the church’s journey.
At the time of Sardis, the parable refers to a man who found the treasure. It was Martin Lu-
ther.
“Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells that he has and buys that field.” Matthew 13:44
Luther was a teacher, philosopher, music teacher and writer. He had one of the largest congregations (the church in Wittenberg). He posted the theses of the reformation on the church door. For us, the important thing is the 4 theses, the basic principles of the apostolic church. The Spirit at work at that time was the Spirit of the Fortress. Luther went to the fortress (Wattburg Castle) and
translated the entire Bible. But when he refers to the fortress, Luther is not referring to the fortress of the castle, but to the fortress that is our God.
The letter from Sardis (Sardis means “remains that were about to end”) shows a distorted Christianity that reached Sardis from the time of Thyatira. At the time of Thyatira (Thyatira means “continual sacrifice”) there was the dominance of a project that excluded the Bible. At the time of Thyatira, the word of the church was greater than the Word of God. It’s different for us. We have a rule of faith and practice which is the Word of God.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,” II Timothy 3:16
Question
Reading Revelation chapter 1 verse 3, can the Lord Jesus reveal Himself without the Spirit of Prophecy?
Answer: No, because the revelation of the Lord Jesus takes place only when the Holy Spirit reveals Him to those who read, hear and keep the revelation.
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
This is interesting because when you read the Word of prophecy, the Holy Spirit is at work and the Lord is going to reveal himself.
Question
Reading Revelation chapter 1 versa, comment on the prophetic meaning of the following beatitudes:
a. He who reads
b. Those who hear the words of this prophecy
c. Those who keep those things which are written in it.
Answer: a. The one who reads beyond the letter.
b. Those who hear revelations, what the Spirit says to the churches.
c. Those who persevere in the doctrine revealed by the Holy Spirit.
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
The book of Revelation is the only book that has a blessing for those who read it. Not just reading it but listening to it. The book’s great secret is revelation. There are those who are usually afraid to read the book. But don’t worry, you will receive a blessing because you will see Jesus revealed throughout the book.
The food for this last hour is in the book of Revelation. This book is the last message for the Church. It is the food for the church that needs to be strengthened for the meeting with the Lord.
Still reading the same verse, comment on the prophetic meaning of the expression “…because the time is near…”, identifying the prophetic time of the Church in our days.
Answer: The prophetic meaning of this expression is linked to the prophetic time of the brief, which is the time we are living in today.
We are living in the days when the rapture of the church is approaching.
Question
Reading Revelation chapter 1 verse 3, correlate the expression “…be-
cause the time is near…” with other texts in the book of Revelation that refer to the “time of soon”.
Answer: Revelation 1:1 - “... things which must shortly take place; ...”. Revelation 1:3 – “... for the time is near.” Revelation 1:8 – “..., and is to come, ...”. Revelation 1:19 – “... and things which will take place after this.”. Revelation 3.11 – “Behold, I am coming quickly!” Revelation 22:6 – “... the things which must shortly take place.” Revelation 22:7 – “Behold, I am coming quickly!...”. Revelation 22:10 – “...for the time is at hand.” Revelation 22:12 – “And behold, I am coming quickly, ...” Revelation 22:20 – “...Surely I am coming quickly. ...”
The book of Revelation is a feast. The church that has read the book today is ready, prepared for the rapture.
We need to be working, evangelizing. Today, it’s easy to send information and links. Information arrives quickly. The time is near and we can’t waste time.
May the Lord bless us.
