Poet in the City transforms Milton Court into the whir of 1920’s New York as a tribute to Federico García Lorca, 80 years after his murder. With live jazz music and performances by celebrated actors, Paapa Essiedu and Jorge de Juan.
Roque Dalton (1935 1975) is one of the best-loved poets of twentieth-century Latin America. With Andy Croft (Smokestack-books), translator John Green and Eduardo Guevara (University of Nottingham). The event will be followed by a free wine reception.

Why do bookshops matter? How do they filter our ideas and creativity? Join Jorge Carrión, author of “Bookshops” and Sam Jordison, joint author of “Literary London” for global, local, historical and 21st-century perspectives on the glory of bookshops.

An approach to the medieval world through the eyes of one of the foremost writers and philosophers of the Middle Ages, Ramon Llull. With Joan Santanach, curator of the Ramon Llull Year, Dr Helena Buffery (University College Cork), Dr Barry Taylor (British Library) and MarÌa Castrillo (Senate House Library). The event will be followed by a wine reception.
With Dr Fulgencio Saura Calixto (ICTAN, Madrid) and Dr Francisco José García Muriana (University Pablo de Olavide, Seville). A selection of canapes and a glass of wine will be offered.
