Personal Professional Goals

My professional and personal goal is to achieve a bachelor degree in healthcare. Being the best person I can be, and setting goals that I can achieve is my motivation. Setting an example for my daughter to dream big, set high goals, and hard work will pay off in the end. I will also be the first person in my immediate family to receive a degree. Growing up getting an education beyond high school wasn't really pushed or encourage by my parents. Long–term this degree will set me up for a professional career that I can retire in. Also I can be an example to young adults to set a goal and stick to it no matter what. With faith and perseverance you can achieve anything you set your mind to do. Iwant to be able to support my family better, and be a help to society. In my previous educational endeavors, which was 10 years ago. I became unfocused on my goals. I got married while in college and started a fulltime job. I am still married today to my husband of 11 years now, and we have a 5year old daughter. I'm in a different place in my life right now. I have been working for a pharmaceutical company for the past 9 years. I want to transition to a healthcare career. I am now determined to do better, and get things done. The job I work now I'm given assignments that have to be completed by a deadline. I feel that has help me to be a multi–tasker and complete what I need to get done in a timely manner. My strengths as a learner is being engaged in the material that I receive until I understand it and not just memorized it. I am a visual learner, and memorizing something does not mean you actually understand it. My challenge as a learner would be writing essays and reports. I feel like my papers doesn't flow how I want them to sound. I will address this issues on studying and reading books on how I would like to sound as a writer and a speaker. Writing this 500 word statement was a challenge to me, because I didn't think it sounded like a student that wanted another shot at earning a degree. My husband Robert has given me so much support and courage to go back to school. Actually this is the first step and hardest part of going back to school when you have been out for 10 years. I'm not only going back because my husband

When I was younger, my indecision was at times a challenge to my educational endeavors. I often found it difficult to choose one thing, as my interests are so varied, and I wanted to be able to explore many avenues of life, and not limit my options. As I have grown older, I have been fortunate to have experienced working in several different industries, and learning about my strengths and weaknesses. The perspective that time brings has also brought an ability to weed out what isn't right, and focus on the possibilities that making a decision can bring.

I experienced a couple of devastating life events during my undergraduate years, including the death of a very close friend my first semester, and a terrible illness at the start of my Junior year which forced me to withdraw from school for a semester. These moments were incredibly difficult for me at the time, but over time I've realized how important these experiences were to me growing as an individual. They were actually opportunities to learn in a different way, and were life experiences unique to me that helped me to grow. The characteristics of tenacity, resiliency, and mental strength are of great value to me.

Personal Goals I want to Achieve as a University of Phoenix Student

With a degree from the University of Phoenix, I will rule the world! The worlds that I will rule are my own internal and external ones. These worlds consist of paper, development of personal skills, satisfaction and achievement, titles, and specialized knowledge. My goals are personal, family–oriented, business–related, or just plain selfish. The receipt of a diploma is something that I perceive as slightly superficial. Obtaining this piece of paper, which will hang on my office wall, is an external, visual symbol that represents a base of knowledge to others regardless of whether or not that base of knowledge is applicable or implemented. In addition, the receipt of...show more content...

I will achieve personal satisfaction by simply knowing that I have completed what I started many, many years ago. I am not, nor have ever been a quitter and will always (regardless of time) finish what I start. I will fulfill a sense of achievement because I will have crossed the finish line. The process, like a race, is not easy but enduring the pain is worth the end result. Another personal goal tied into achievement would be that my daughter would see that I pursued my commitment to the very end. She will be able to learn by example not empty words. The advancement of my career is a continuous personal goal. Without the benefit of a complete formal education, I have moved up the corporate ladder swiftly and adeptly; having started as an Administrative Assistant and now retain the title of Program Manager and responsible for over 1M in contracts and a team of 15. Within the company's organization, there are the Owners and Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents (VPs), then Program Managers. There are currently no written rules or guidelines as to what an individual has to have or do to move up in the organization but I know that obtaining my degree in business management will put me at an even level with the existing VPs allowing me to be promoted without consternation.

Choosing a career in medicine is my first career choice, and in many ways it is the only career choice I want. They have practiced countless of hours to master their individual skill set for their profession. I see myself following in the same footsteps, but as a pediatrician. I want to also master the skills that it takes to be a great doctor. It may not be simple and the outcome may not be near, but with extensive studying and practice I want to achieve and master the set of skills of pediatric diagnosis and eventually improve the medical process. My working experience with Dr. Sure has taught me that to exercise good clinical judgment required extensive study, practice, and endless hours of work. As a pediatrician, I will strive to make every effort to empower and educate my own patients with the knowledge that will give them control over there aliments. With each visit I hope that we can work together for a brighter and healthier tomorrow.

Naturally, my eagerness to learn came about at a very young age. I always wanted to know how the human body worked. Growing up in the age of YouTube, I often poured over countless hours of videoslearning simple concepts that I could easily understand at that time. As I grew I was always looking to learn something new. Finally, in high school I took advantage of College Now, a program where students in high school had access to college classes on a college campus while receiving college credits. While I was there, I earned a Certificate in Computer Science from CUNY Queens College. This eagerness to learn came about of a very simple reason. My parents had high aspirations for me since no one on either side of their families had ever gone beyond a high school education. They wanted me to be the first in the family to achieve a Bachelor's degree. Finally in 2012, I graduated from St. Johns University with a

My Professional Goals

As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy–tale like, we tend to see life through a rose–colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.

First, my family goals include how I see myself and how I see my...show more content...

I have planned monthly individual date nights with my children, so that they can have my undivided attention for a certain period of time. The second family short term goal takes into account my marriage. In order to raise happy and healthy children, a happy and healthy relationship with one's spouse is paramount. In order to achieve this goal my husband and I have decided to also dedicate more time for the two of us. For the next year we have made an agreement to take at least one vacation together, so that we may increase the bond that brought us together. We have also decided that for the next three year we will spend Holidays as a family so that we may create our own family traditions, we will do whatever is in our power to spend Holidays together, that includes not working or making other plans with the rest of our immediate families. On many occasions my personal goals have come before my professional aspirations. A career in the medical field has always been something I have looked forward to. As a child I wanted and dreamed of being a doctor, however due to the choices I made in life and the priorities that I had not thought of, I have come to realize that my childhood dream may not come true. Yet, I was able to compromise and make short and long term goals that will lead me into a career in the medical field. My long term goal is to enter the medical field world and be a respected contributor to it. I want to be able to help others in the time of need. In
