St. George’s International School is proud to be consistently ranked among the top International Baccalaureate schools in Switzerland in recent years. We oer both boarding and day school programmes, blending these experiences to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
Catering to pupils from 18 months to 18 years, with boarding available from age 10, we ensure a seamless educational journey. Pupils follow the Cambridge International curriculum through to IGCSEs, which provides rigorous preparation for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), where our exceptional results consistently place us among Switzerland’s finest.

INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (IGCSE)
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a high-profile qualification provided by the University of Cambridge International Examinations Board (CIE). An IGCSE is designed to be taught as a 2 year course. Exams are taken by students in Year 11 (US Grade 10) and are equivalent in standard to the UK GCSE and Cambridge International GCE O Level examinations. Students take an average of 8-10 IGCSE subjects.
PRE-IB PROGRAMME
The Pre-Diploma Programme has been designed for students aged 15-16 who want to build a solid foundation before embarking on their two year IB Programme or General Diploma Programme.
GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
St. George’s International School also provides a General Diploma Programme for students not wishing to take the International Baccalaureate.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To graduate and receive a diploma, a student must have fulfilled the following requirements:

Successful completion of Years 10 to 13, i.e., U.S. grades 9, 10, 11, 12, or their equivalent in the student’s home country, assuming the entire last year is completed at St. George’s International School.

Minimum age of 17 attained before date of graduation.

Minimum of 26 credits attained in academic work. The 26 credits must include: English 4, Mathematics 3, Science 2, Foreign language 2, Social Science 2, ICT 2.

Physical education is required for each year of attendance, though no credits are awarded.
Minimum score of 6/9 in IELTS or Cambridge Advanced Certificate of English.
As part of the school graduation requirements all students complete the IB CAS programme as part of the full IB DP or as a certificated course. By completing this programme students have shown an 18 month commitment to personal development and Service learning.
