LABELS
We offer complete production capabilities for manufacturing individual, sheet, fanfold, or roll labels, printed in an unlimited variety of colors, including 4-color process and ultra high resolution, full color digital printing.
• Our labels are produced with only the highest quality adhesives. Special UV topcoats are available to offer additional protection from the environment, damaging chemicals, solvents, humidity, or other factors that could affect the durability of your label.
• An unlimited number of materials are available; our most popular include anodized aluminum, vinyl, polycarbonate (Lexan®), polyester (Mylar® & Plexiglass®), paper, and many additional stocked materials. We offer V-Ø fire-rated materials, which withstand higher heat, self-extinguish, burn at a lower rate, and contain retardant components.

DOMED LABELS
Doming is the process of applying a catalyzed liquid resin to the surface of a printed substrate, creating a 3-D lens which enhances the depth and brightness of the graphic.
Advantages of Doming
• Protects the graphic and substrate from scratches, extending the label’s service life.
• Displays excellent UV resistance and will not yellow when exposed to sunlight.
• Flexible material can be applied to slightly curved or uneven surfaces.
• Unaffected by exposure to common chemicals or moisture.
Technical Specifications
• Service life – estimated 5 years min. outdoor exposure
• Temperature range – tested at -45°F to +170°F
• Normal thickness – 1.5 to 2mm (.06-.08”) max. at center
• Chemical resistance – will not swell or discolor with brief exposure to common dilute solvents and cleaners

Design Guidelines

Panel overlays are a critical element to the design and function of your product. Implementing panel overlays in your product design allows for many product efficiencies.
• Panel overlays, with adhesive specially formulated for powder coated surfaces, eliminates the need for screen-printing directly onto parts, allowing you versatility in production. Panel overlay application is quick and easy .
• Incorporate LED’s, cut outs, selective adhesive application, tinted windows and membrane switches to make your panel overlay a functioning, integral part of your product.

PROPERTY ID LABELS
Property ID Labels are identification labels, often referred to as asset labels, which attach to physical property (computers, printers, electronic devices, machinery, tools, etc.) to protect against loss and theft, and provide the means for maintenance tracking and insurance claim information.
• You may choose to have your text or logo printed in any of our 12 standard colors shown here or select from a nearly limitless array of custom colors. Computerized color matching is available to precisely reproduce your company colors. All colors of anodized aluminum are available in either a shiny or matte finish.
• Lustre-Cal manufactures serialized and bar coded Property ID Labels in a variety of materials. Anodized aluminum, our most popular option, offers long-term durability at a reasonable cost. Polyester and paper labels are great options where flexibility and conductivity are a concern. For added security, destructible vinyl labels are virtually impossible to remove in one piece, and void tamper-evident labels cannot be removed without leaving a traceable mark. Refer to the material selection chart (page 17) to determine which material is best suited for your application.

Colors are approximate and for reference only. Please call us for an actual color sample chart. Colors are shown in order of fade resistance for anodized aluminum when used outdoors.

MEMBRANE SWITCHES
We are committed to continual research and development, which allows us to stay on the cutting edge of membrane switch technology.
• Your membrane switch can be embossed, textured, hard coated, they can have dead fronts, transparent windows, and have the ability to be backlit with LED or plastic optical fiber custom devices.
• Our engineers can also combine a transparent membrane (touch screen) to the window of the membrane switch providing a much more versatile solution with complete software control of icons and menu selections. Contact us and our design teams will help you get started in the right direction to meet your front panel, membrane switch, and assembly needs.
• We can provide many options for value added control keypad applications. Utilizing rubber keypads for the touch overlay option; the membrane switch can have a 3D user friendly and more aesthetically attractive appearance.
• We can provide backlighting of the entire keypad or isolated areas.
• We can meet environmental applications, beyond the silver ink printed flex circuits, where more endurance is required electrically and mechanically by using copper based rigid and flex circuits.

CUSTOM-CONVERTING
Custom converting is the processing of standard materials into components customized for your application. Working with a converter gives you access to materials not generally available, and provides a simple and cost-effective means of utilizing materials that may be otherwise too labor intensive or impractical to implement. Converting includes die-cutting, laminating, scoring, and embossing as well as printing and assembling multiple materials to produce finished parts.
Because of our extremely wide range of production capabilities and broad base of customer requirements, we are able to die-cut and fabricate almost any type of material or adhesive, including V-Ø fire rated products. Our production capabilities allow us to produce runs consisting of one prototype or millions of units. And depending on your needs or preference, the final parts can be supplied in individual pieces, sheets, or rolls.

• Our engineers work closely with you to design and manufacture printed and die-cut shielding that maximizes electromagnetic compatibilities (EMC), while minimizing electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI), and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
• Using laser-cutting prototyping and CAD design programs, we are able to provide working prototypes which reduce the amount of time and cost involved in getting the required design prior to production or tooling.

MATERIALS
Anodized Aluminum
Available in .003”, .005”, .008”, .012”, .020” and .032” thicknesses, in any size, with any adhesive system. We take pride in manufacturing nameplates that are guaranteed to be long lasting, durable and resistant to solvents, abrasion, steam cleaning and extreme weather. Anodized aluminum is made specifically for these conditions by Lustre-Cal, ensuring timeless durability. It is critical that nameplates cannot be easily removed, therefore, our products are produced using only the finest adhesives available. Once the label is applied, they are extremely resistant to removal. The material is available in either a shiny or matte finish, in hard temper for labeling flat surfaces or Ø-temper for labeling irregular or rounded surfaces.
What is anodizing?
Anodizing is the controlled oxidation of aluminum using an electro-chemical process to create a porous surface that is receptive to color dying. A sealer is then applied, creating a surface that is corrosion-resistant and nearly diamond hard. The result is an abrasion-resistant nameplate that will never peel, chip or flake - regardless of age or weather. Lustre-Cal has a proprietary etching process that permanently embeds text and graphics into the anodized and sealed aluminum surface. This allows for exceptional clarity of graphics and text with exceptional durability.
What about color?
Lustre-Cal has developed a proprietary process for dying anodized aluminum. No other manufacturer can provide the wide variety of base colors you get from Lustre-Cal. Anodized aluminum can simulate various materials such as brass, copper and bronze, but at a fraction of the cost.

Heavy Gauge Aluminum
Available in .008” to .032” thickness, color anodized and etched, multi-color anodized, clear anodized or full-color. Custom adhesive systems are engineered for each specific application and temporary protective films are applied for protection prior to product usage. In addition, they can be manufactured with mounting holes for reinforced security. This material is designed for harsh environments, such as saltwater exposure. Heavy gauge nameplates are extremely durable, long lasting and ideal for applications where mechanical fasteners are required in order to meet military specifications.
Polycarbonate (Lexan®)
Available in .005” to .030” thickness. Polycarbonate labels can also include clear or textured finishes, select adhesives, embossing, clear, tinted or dead front windows and/or matte or clear hard-coated surfaces depending on your custom application and imagination.
Polyester
Take advantage of our computerized color matching capabilities to ensure exact duplication of your artwork. Polyester materials are useful in manufacturing. Polyester is computer imprintable and available in glossy, matte or various metallic finishes.
