Starting at 1:00 pm
Lunch and refreshments will be available on the day
The animals are available for inspection on Sunday evening from 2:30pm or from 10am on sale day. We encourage inspection of Battalion Livestock on property prior to sale day by appointment. This gives you the opportunity to view the animals in their natural environment and possibly inspect other animals in the pedigree to assist you in making your decision.
The Buyers number system will be in operation. All prospective purchasers are asked to register prior to the sale.
If you are unable to attend on the day, the sale will be conducted in conjunction with StockLive. Please refer to page 4 for further information. Phone bidding can be arranged through Colin Say & Co or your preferred agent. There is good Mobile Coverage in Glen Innes.
All of the sale cattle have been screened for temperament and are quiet under normal circumstances. However, sale day presents a unique environment, and even the calmest animals may become highly alert and can react unpredictably. Visitors are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and exercise caution when viewing and interacting with the animals. We do not advise visitors to enter the cattle pens and if you do so it is at your own risk. Children/Prams must not enter the sale pens.
Disabled access is available at the showground and into the stands at the sale yards.
A rebate of 2% is offered to outside agents who introduce buyers to the selling agent in writing at least 24hrs prior to the sale and settle accounts on the purchaser’s behalf within 7 days of the sale.
All animals are sold exclusive of GST. GST is added to your invoice.
Carriers will be available on sale day. If you wish to bring your own truck, we will accommodate the release of your animal at the completion of the auction. All animals need to be transported from the sale venue by 5pm Tuesday the 24th of June 2025 unless prior arrangements have been made with the vendors. Formal possession, risk and expenses pass to the buyer at the fall of the hammer. We recommend having a quiet animal (e.g. cow, steer etc.) yarded and ready to greet your bull/female when they arrive home to minimise stress on the animal and help it adjust to its new environment.
Your animals are a valuable and vulnerable asset to your business. We highly recommend insuring your new purchase at the completion of the sale.
Insurance will be available on site.
All lots will be sold under the Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association Ltd Standard Stud Stock Auction Terms and Conditions of Sale. If unfamiliar with these terms, please contact Colin Say & Co.

Speckle Park Cattle have 4 distinctive Colour Patterns; Speckled, Leopard, White & Black. The speckle and leopard colour patterns are genetically the same except for varying degrees of spot and pattern. Some Speckle Park cattle can produce red colour patterns if both parents carry the recessive red gene. It is important to understand how the colour patterns are inherited in order to achieve your breeding goals. Please remember that this is a guide only and individual results may vary.
DNA tested negative to being persistently infected of Pestivirus (Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus). We recommend vaccination for Pestivirus if you are not a clean or closed herd.
The sale animals have been treated with the following and we strongly recommend annual boosters to ensure their health is maintained.
• 7 in 1
• Tick Fever
• 3 Day (Bovine Ephemeral Fever)
• Rhinogard IBR

• Pestigard (Females only)

All bulls come with a 6 month fertility guarantee. In the case that a bull is found to be incapable of natural service or infertile within 6 months from the date of sale, excluding sickness or injury, the vendor will replace the bull with another of comparable value, or provide a credit of the purchase price excluding interest, costs & damages, less disposal proceeds to the buyer, to be used within 12 months. In the case of a fertility claim the purchaser will need to provide a veterinary certificate stating the nature of the problem and that it was not a result of illness or injury. All bulls are fertility tested and passed a crush side veterinary examination including Semen morphology
All females are sold as guaranteed breeders. In the unlikely event that a female cannot be bred after being serviced by a fertile bull in the 6 months from the date of the sale or by the time the female reaches 22 months of age, the vendor will replace the female with another of comparable value or provide a credit of the purchase price excluding interest, costs & damages, less disposal proceeds to the buyer, to be used within 12 months. In the case of a fertility claim the purchaser will need to provide a veterinary certificate stating the nature of the problem and that it was not a result of illness or injury. All females have been palpated to ensure the soundness of their reproductive tract. PTIC females have been confirmed pregnant by a qualified Veterinarian at the time of sale, post sale abortions will not be covered by the vendor nor will we guarantee a live calf. Females are guaranteed to be fertile breeders for natural service, no females are guaranteed to flush successfully.
Vendor has the right to ask for an animal to come back to the home property for an independent Veterinary examination and treatment. If the animal has recovered or was successfully treated, it can go then go back to the purchaser.
Reflecting on 2024, the cattle market faced constant fluctuations partly due to unstable weather. Despite these challenges, our 2024 sale was remarkably successful during a less-than-ideal period. Our females averaged $16,230, bulls $10,000, and embryos $1,241—an improvement from the previous year's results. We deeply appreciate the ongoing support and confidence from our valued clients.
Significant advancements have been made at our newly acquired farm, “The Barracks.” These enhancements now allow us to finish our sale animals on oats, a key factor in shifting our annual sale date later in the year. This timing aligns better with most bull buyers’ joining seasons, making it a mutually beneficial adjustment.
As 2025 began, dry conditions dominated in many regions, quickly followed by heavy rains in the north. Hopefully, by the time you're reading this, the rain has spread from central Queensland and brought relief to the southern states.
We take immense pride in our 2025 sale lineup. Our focus remains on producing cattle with outstanding Eye Muscle Areas (EMAs) for premium cuts while improving Intramuscular Fat (IMF) levels. This ensures our genetics meets high standards for quality beef while maximizing weight for profitability.
Our Speckle Park cattle consistently exhibit greater shape, volume, and pedigree reliability, ensuring they breed true to type. As seedstock producers, our success is defined by our
clients' results. We warmly invite all clients and prospective buyers to visit us, explore the paddocks, and engage in open conversations about animals and genetics. We value learning from one another, emphasizing collaborative growth.
While breeding for show purposes is not our priority, our commercially driven approach has been honed through strategic paddock-based evaluations. Thoughtful analysis underpins every genetic decision we make.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone interested in our program and look forward to seeing you on sale day. With the current cattle market and breed status, it's truly a buyer’s market—elite genetics have never been more attainable.
I am a proud fourth-generation cattle producer, and it's safe to say that my love for cattle runs deep. Some of my most cherished childhood memories involve cattle, from purchasing my very first stud Hereford cow at the age of 14 to establishing my own stud in 2006. Today, we hold an annual Hereford Bull Sale, which has been a cornerstone of our journey. While my heart has always belonged to Herefords—and always will—I became fascinated by the Speckle Park breed when it was introduced to Australia.
After extensive research, I officially registered the Battalion Speckle Park Stud in 2016, beginning with the acquisition of eight frozen embryos from Six Star Speckle Park. This resulted in two bulls and two heifers, with the bull’s making history at the Scone multi-vendor sale. They achieved an impressive top vendor average of $22,000, with one setting a sale record of $26,000, a record that still stands today. The two heifers were retained as foundation donors, and one of them, Heartbreaker M1, has become one of the breed's most renowned producers globally. Her progeny sales have exceeded half a million dollars and continue to grow.
Our matriarch, Heartbreaker M1, has been a source of countless highlights and has achieved several Australian and world records. Among her accomplishments are producing a world-record-priced female ($100,000, sold to Ivery Downs Speckle Park), a record-setting Australian bull ($45,000, sold to Celamba Speckle Park), a world record for embryos at $5,050 each (to Toebelle Speckle Park), and an Australian record for semen at $860 per straw (sold by Ivery Downs Speckle Park).
We chose to introduce Speckle Park cattle to diversify our breeding program and complement our Hereford stud. The breed's natural thickness and superior carcass quality drew us in. Our breeding philosophy has always emphasized structural correctness, constitution, temperament, and added thickness, and Speckle Park cattle align perfectly with these values. This allows us to produce industryrelevant animals that perform exceptionally well in the current market.
We maintain a small, intensive herd of Speckle Park females, carefully selected for their ability to consistently deliver elite-quality calves. By utilizing embryo transfer, we match our top females with the best bulls worldwide, enabling us to meet our breeding objectives consistently.
My wife, Kylie, and I make a dynamic team. Her expertise in veterinary nursing and graphic design perfectly complements both the cattle operation and marketing efforts. Together, we are raising a family of cattle enthusiasts—Travis, Grace, and Hailey—who share our passion and often engage in spirited debates over which cow reigns supreme. Producing seedstock is not just our business; it's our passion, and we take immense pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

Here’s the opportunity to step into the Heartbreaker line with a heifer that stands out as the type to take the breed forward. Focusing on raw performance alone this heifer is hard to beat. She scanned 105 EMA, 7.1 IMF, 10/8Fats and 600Kgs back in early March. Back that up with a super stacked pedigree she has everything lined up to be something special. U89 ranks in the top 1% for 600day, Carcass Wt., Retail Yield, Domestic Maternal Index, Export Terminal Index, Top 5% for 200day, 400day, Mat Cow Wt., Milk, EMA, Top10% for Export Maternal Index and Top 20% for Gestation Length. A direct daughter of the great Battalion Heartbreaker M1, the cow with sales equating to over $700,000! A remarkable feat on its own but it is also important to consider that is just the ones we’ve sold. Her retained females have really set us up with a solid foundation. Heartbreaker U93 is thick and easy doing with a real stand up look at me presence to her. We know how safe the M1 daughters are and here is your chance to grab one sired by Calico Creek Butane, only one other of this combination has been sold to date and that was a heifer to Luke Baldacchino for $18,000.

We occasionally hear that the breed needs to add more kilograms and extend our finishing weights to open more doors commercially. No excuses here! Used correctly, over moderate early finishing cattle, this bull would give that lift in growth to expediate meeting the demands. We have collected Earthquake U234 and plan to use him for this purpose in our own herd. Earthquake U234 ranks in the top 1% for 400 & 600 day growth, Top 2% for 200 day & Mat Cow Wt. and top 5% for Carcass Wt. & Export Terminal Index. The sire Andchris Extreme 23E sired our two top priced bulls in last year’s sale. B. Exhibit T224 $30,000 to MAK Ag and B. Eclipse T218 $26,000 to High Country Rural.

A real meat machine! Gamble U245 is a low birth, early maturing bull that is very easy doing resulting in lower inputs to reach finishing. He scanned the highest EMA in March for his contemporary group and has a pedigree that is stacked with extra depth of body. If you get the chance, have a look over the top of him, at the width and strength of his topline.
