ShinjiniwasborninGorakhpur,UttarPradesh,India,intoa highlyeducatedfamily.Herfather,Dr.O.P.Singh,served asProfessorandHeadoftheDepartmentof AnaesthesiologyatBRDMedicalCollege,laterbecoming Deanuntilhisretirement.Hermother,Mrs.AshaRajput, dedicatedherselftoraisingtheirfamily.Growinguponthe medicalcollegecampus,Shinjiniwassurroundedby doctors,fosteringachildhoodfilledwithbothacademic excellenceandadeepunderstandingofthemedicalworld.
HerfamilyrootstracebacktoMadhopattivillagein Jaunpur,aplacefamouslyknownas"TheIASFactoryof Bharat"forproducingthehighestnumberofIASandPCS officersinIndia.However,hermother,aformerNCCcadet andaccomplishedathlete,emphasizedbothacademicsand sports,ensuringthatShinjinihadawell-roundedchildhood. Excellingasanall-rounder,shewasatopstudent,lead singer,bestathlete,andheadgirlofherschool.

Managingalong-distancemarriagewhilepursuingaPhD waschallenging.WithAnujworkinginChandigarhand ShinjinistudyinginVaranasi,theirtimetogetherwas limited.Theyneverhadthechancetobuildahometogether inIndiabeforeAnujwasofferedanopportunitytomoveto theUnitedStatesthroughInfosys.Asshenearedthe completionofherthesis,thistransitionbroughtuncertainty Aroundthesametime,herfatherfellcriticallyillandwas admittedtotheICU,addingtoheremotionalturmoil. Despitethehardships,sheperseveredandsuccessfully submittedherPhDthesis,drawingstrengthfromherfamily andlovedones.

WithaPhDinCancerBiology,focusingonthep53genein breastcancerpatients,shefoundherselfimmersedin groundbreakingresearch.
Everyday,shewitnessedleadingoncologists,surgeons, CEOs,andcancerpatientsseekingProf.Aggarwal’s guidance.Themostprofoundmomentswerewhencancer patients,fromearlytoadvancedstages,personallythanked himforhisresearchandlife-savingrecommendations.It wasthenthatShinjinifullygraspedthepowerofbeinga scientist—researchwasnotjustaboutdiscovery;ithadthe potentialtochangeandsavelives.

Heronlymissingqualificationwaseditorial experience—sheneededtoserveoneditorialboardsof internationaljournalsandreviewscientificmanuscripts. Risingtothechallenge,sheworkedtirelesslytogainthis experience.Bythetimetheysubmittedherpetition,she wasservingontheeditorialboardsof7-8internationally renownedoncologyjournalsandhadreviewedaround200 scientificmanuscripts.
Despitethestruggles,Anujremainedherunwavering support,muchlikehermotherhadbeenduringherearly years.In2017,shefinallyreceivedherGreenCard, allowinghertoworkagain.Thoughshehadinitially searchedforabasicscienceresearchposition,she unexpectedlylandedinCancerClinicalTrials—andthisis wheretheprophecyfromherchildhoodfullyunfolded.
Herfatherhadbeentoldthatshewouldworkinafield relatedto"drugsandmedicine",butevenmoreprecisethan neurosurgery.Now,shewasdirectlyinvolvedindrug developmentandclinicalresearch—anoutcomeshehad neveranticipatedbutfoundincrediblyfulfilling.Since 2017,shehasremainedinCancerClinicalTrials,usingher expertisetocontributetomedicaladvancementsthathelp patientsworldwide.Sheisthankfultoallclinicaltrial patientsfortheirinvaluableparticipation,courage,and contributiontoadvancingmedicalresearch,helpingto shapethefutureofhealthcare,andimprovingcountless livesworldwide.
