In this month’s edition, we’re excited to share inspiring achievements, important milestones, and fresh initiatives from across our Uniworld family. From the Trafalgar Verity and Reverie renaming ceremonies to Earth Day celebrations and team building days, there’s plenty to celebrate and reflect upon.
Trafalgar renaming ceremonies
Congratulations to the launch of the Trafalgar Rivers launch and the renaming ceremonies that made some good media coverage. We are excited to continue this project and deliver memorable experiences to Trafalgar guests.
Guest Survey & Feedback
Julie’s summary of the results from the first month is well worth the read. It is motivating and critical at the same time with interesting facts pointed out.
Congratulations to employees of the month and work anniversaries
Join us in celebrating the employees of the month that are role models in their field. Anniversaries are worth celebrating for their dedication and perseverance.
Enjoy reading the many more subjects and pictures, and a big thank you to all that have contributed to this edition.
Warm regards,
Ben Wirz Managing Director

The inauguration ceremony of Trafalgar Verity and Reveries marked the opening of the new season with a sense of occasion that was both celebratory and refined. Set against the vibrant atmosphere of the harbor, the event brought together crew members and distinguished guests to formally welcome the ships and their upcoming itineraries.
As both ships were officially inaugurated, respective ceremonies stood as a tribute to the people behind the ships. It recognized their professionalism and dedication, while setting a confident and positive tone for the season ahead.

TTC’s 2025 Impact Report is out
This is the final year of How We Tread Right, the five-year strategy we launched in 2019. It felt important to close that chapter properly before we move into what’s next , which are entirely new brand strategies launching later this year. This report, however, stands on its own terms, as an honest account of what we delivered and where we were challenged.
Some of what we achieved together:
• 37% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions from our 2019 baseline
• 92% of itineraries included at least one Make Travel Matter® Experience
• 300,000+ meals saved through food waste management
• 100% renewable electricity across offices, owned accommodations, and ships
Our 2026–2030 strategies are being built brand by brand — designed around their distinct characters and markets, an evolution beyond our previous group-wide approach. More will be sharing more on that later this year, and we want this team to be part of shaping it.

Dear Colleagues, Dear Teams, ship or shore, Uniworld or Trafalgar
Season 2026 is here and in full swing! So much has happened in just a few weeks:
• All 11 Uniworld ships are sailing with guests and bringing in amazing feedback
• Trafalgar River was launched and now both Trafalgar ships are sailing with guests - the teams are already making a MASSIVE impression
• SS Emilie, our first new build since 2017 (!!) is launched and sailing (and gorgeous) and the team have done an amazing job bringing her to life
• SS Marlene and SS Audrey are flying through their build process (and no surprise: they are already beauties!)
• The 4 ships for 2028 are starting or about to be started
We promised an exciting year, and here we are! There is a lot going on, and this is just the beginning! None of this above of course would have been possible without each and everyone here in this email - so lets pause there and acknowledge the immense effort needed, and successfully so, to reach this point so far. Every single department, position and individual play a critical role in our overall product success, and what impression our guests walk away with at the end of their journey. And it is these impressions, and what our guests are telling us, that will continue to guide us in so many ways in this journey of expansion.
In looking at this first monthly survey report, there are several take aways:
Firstly, to all of our ship departments and teams pushing forward, getting settled together as a new team and finding your rhythm, training new joining colleagues, working through startup hiccups and technical issues, already facing some deviations or some illness outbreaks - its no easy job, that is why it takes a special kind of person to be here and be a part of this widespread team - and we are grateful to have you on the floor and guest facing, and doing your level best to wow our guests and making the massive effort that you ALL do. Thank you for your hard work, passion and effort to get our ships across the 2 brands up and sailing, and creating the most amazing memories for our guests, and the immense amount of beautiful comments of appreciation that have come in already!
Secondly, to our non ship teams around the globe, offices and travelling teams that have worked full steam over the layup period to get as much as possible prepared and ready for Season 2026, a lot of ground work, effort and pushing boundaries has been done from all sides to get to this point - and of course we don’t stop to pause here - the effort continues as we look ahead with enthusiasm and excitement for all that comes next.
I also believe a special shoutout is needed to teams S.S. Joie de Vivre and S.S. Elisabeth,- WOW! Those are some impressive NPS scores - You have certainly hit the season 2026 running, and set the bar very high with overall guest satisfaction across all areas of the product - Congratulations!

I cannot help but notice the amounts of 100% for department ratings across the fleet. That is wonderful to see, hats off to the following teams:
• S.S. Elisabeth Housekeeping Team
• S.S. Elisabeth and S.S. Joie de Vivre Nautical teams
• S.S. Emilie, S.S. Joie de Vivre and S.S. Victoria Wellbeing coaches
• Hygiene, Safety and Security for S.S. Emilie and S.S. Maria Theresa
And there are plenty of teams that came very close to their 100% - amazing!
That being said, looking for the opportunities to keep climbing by reading this report, there are 3 points that I feel we can all work on together to keep an upward trend on our monthly (and per cruise) results as our season moves on and that we can certainly influence:
1. Survey return rate: it is so important to get as many surveys filled out by our guests as possible. The lower the return rate, the higher the impact of each rating. So, especially for all positions that are guest facing, take every opportunity you can to remind our guests, elegantly and politely of course, that their feedback is so important to us and that this is how we can continue to be better and better for them. It is always good to highlight also that they can mention team members that went above and beyond for them in their surveys and that our crew love to see their names mentioned and that we do share comments with our teams. Your mid cruise surveys are also the perfect opportunity to get as much feedback as possible, and to react while the guest is still onboard wherever possible. We are also now working on an implementation that we feel may help to support an increased return rate…. so watch this space.
2. Our guests are at the forefront of what we do, and why every single one of us exist within this organisation, whether ship or shore based: I know I am not telling anyone here anything new or unknown, but sometimes it is good to bring it to the forefront of our minds, and talk about it regularly with our teams. If there is a guest request, there is at least one response, and possibly two:
• Is it physically possible to accommodate within the allocate budgets and without stepping across the line with working hours? If yes, then execute it.
• If step 1.) is a no, then what alternative can we offer the guest that brings a yes to this first step.
3. Across every team and every department, ship or shore, to regularly ask ourselves and our team, with all honesty, how can we do it better? (If?)
I know I know, my emails are way too long, and quite possibly not many read it until the end - so lets finish it up with: “a new season equals a new start: endless opportunity and new beginnings, a fresh start where anything is possible,” and I am incredibly excited to continue to work together with all of you over the next months and to be a part of what I know will be “making magic happen” - and to dream BIG all together and to bring it to life!
Thank you to everyone for getting this season started and laying an amazing foundation, and I am so excited to be a part of this season and beyond,
Sincerely,
Julie Higgins

This Earth Day, we were proud to see our commitment to sustainability come to life across our fleet through a range of engaging onboard activities. Crews took part in an Earth Day Bingo challenge, encouraging simple yet impactful actions such as recycling materials, learning more about our sustainability initiatives, and planting seeds or flowers to support biodiversity.
Many ships enthusiastically embraced these challenges, leading to a variety of creative and meaningful onboard initiatives. From hands-on environmental actions to knowledge sharing and awareness-building, these efforts highlighted our teams’ passion and dedication.
Together, these initiatives reflect our unfailing commitment to making our operations as sustainable as possible—demonstrating that every action counts and that by leading by example, we can make a positive difference for our planet.

We previously informed everyone that the Trafalgar ships Reverie & Verity, as well as the S.S. Emilie, will be using ServiceNow for all ship related requests and incidents. However, the rollout is not yet fully ready.
We will keep you updated once we are officially launching Service Now !
Until the rollout is complete, we kindly ask everyone to continue using the forms in the Rheinfelden SharePoint under IT Forms for any requests.
The IT FORM Site contains several forms that must be used by anyone in the company for the following purposes:
Ship New Joiner Request – This form is intended for users who do not have a Uniworld.com or Trafalgar.com email address but require a business email account due to the nature of their position. This includes users who work on a device, laptop, or computer as part of their daily duties (e.g., Receptionists, Pursers, Engineers, etc.).
Ship Exchange Request – Users who already have a business email address or are transferring to a different ship
This applies to users who:
• already have a Uniworld.com or Trafalgar.com business email address, and/or
• are moving from one ship to another
Example: a Purser previously assigned to the S.S. Emilie is now transferring to Trafalgar Reverie. This user will need:
• Access to the Reverie shared mailbox
• Access to the Reverie SharePoint site
• Access updates in systems such as MXP and Hotel
To ensure the user can work properly, they must be physically moved in all systems from the old ship to the new ship. This ensures they receive the correct permissions, data, and operational information for their new assignment. The same process applies to any user transferring between ships.
Ship Leaver Request – This applies ONLY to Reverie, Verity, and Emilie crew members who are going on vacation or sick leave.
When a user is temporarily away, their business email address will remain active, but we will remove their access to the ship specific shared mailboxes. These shared mailboxes contain operational information for the ship, and we want to prevent users who are not currently working onboard from reading or accidentally deleting important communication that the Captain or Hotel Manager needs to see.
This ensures that only the active, onboard team has access to the ship’s current operational emails and prevents any disruption to communication.
IT Project Application – This form is especially useful when introducing a new concept, hardware, or software. It allows us to review the requirements together and understand whether the request is budgeted or not. It also helps management assess more easily whether the project should be approved or declined.
Employee Exit Survey - Leaving the Company Request – This form must be completed by the manager when a staff member resigns, is terminated, or reaches the end of their contract.
Office New Hire – This form must be completed by Managers or Directors when a new staff member joins Uniworld or Trafalgar in an office or corporate role
Internal Position Change – This form is to be completed by Managers when processing an employee promotion or demotion.
Software or Access Request - This form is used to request new software or access permissions for employees who are already hired.
Data Protection Impact Assessment Survey for Software requests- When a new software related project is proposed, Higher Management must complete this form to assess the project’s data protection obligations.
Project Application IT & Management Requirements – For review and completion by IT, the Technical Department, Higher Management, and Finance
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at grc-it@uniworld.com.
Your IT Team, Peter, Leo, Liesel & Francesco

On Good Friday the team of the SS La Venezia went out and about in the little alleys of Venice. Navigating these narrow pathways is quite a challenge, especially since Google Maps is not very user-friendly in the area. Fortunately, they had a map to guide them on a tour of Dorsoduro.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to World Water Day. The team engaged in raising awareness and brainstorming innovative ideas for water conservation, while also crafting artwork from materials they discovered on board. Following this, they took part in some creative record-breaking activities, which included rolling out toilet paper and whisking egg whites! From the photos and videos shared, it seemed like they had a fantastic time!

The Bon Voyage team was launching their ship in Bordeaux. It was an opportunity to explore Bordeaux, get to know the public transportation system and to get to know their team better. Throughout the day, the teams also engaged in initiatives for World Water Day, resulting in some truly imaginative artistic creations! Merci, team!

The Trafalgar Reverie team took a bus ride to arrive at the lovely town of Passau. Their scavenger hunt led them through the enchanting medieval streets. During the scavenger hunt the teams were also on the hunt for some local threats. Which had to be tasted afterwards as well of course. Well done, team!

S.S. Antoinette - Castles Along the Rhine

“I would like to mention a few employees that stood out with their professionalism, kindness and genuine hospitality. First, our waiter Alexandru-Andrei was absolutely amazing. We felt like we were leaving our son on the last day of the cruise. I hope one day he can come to America and we can see him again, or if we are lucky enough on another cruise! Next, Adrian who was working at the front desk went above and beyond helping me buy a cuckoo clock from the gift shop. She, too was so helpful and kind and I never felt like a burden to her. Anna rita at the front desk was also so helpful and I so appreciate her as well. Finally, Silviya in the bar was fun, full of personality and was always ready to serve us a cocktail, water, coke zero, snacks or whatever else we needed!!! I never got the name of our housekeeper but he or she did an amazing job?clean towels, clean trash every single time we came back to the room!!! Thank you so much!!!“ - Sally -
S.S. Beatrice - Delightful Danube & Prague

“Uniworld definitely exceeded my expectations! It was my first cruise with you and it definitely won?t be the last!! It truly was a wonderful experience from the moment I first stepped on the ship. I travel on the first trip of the season on the SS Beatrice. Marko and Bojan were exceptional! The were very attentive to every detail! They went above and beyond. All the staff members were so professional, kind and friendly. Ivo, Miguel, Christian, Gabriela, VASIL, Kremina, Vasil, Marius! I could go on and on about these staff members I came in contact with. Thank you for a fantastic trip I will always remember!“ - Patricia -

“Thank you to everyone, fantastic Cruise..! We enjoyed the SS Bon Voyage, very comfortable ship. The cruise was great, many favorites - Saint Émilion and the Citadel at Blayne were our tops. Guides were well-prepared and provided great tours. Bar Staff - Izabella, Sommelier Esteves, Paulo, Natalia, and David were outstanding. Dining Staff - Valentin, Cristian, Maria & Ambrina were our main servers - outstanding! We also enjoyed exceptional service from Nelson, Zhulian. Everyone was great, we were very impressed. Chefs - the food the choices were wonderful..! Every meal had outstanding options. Looked forward to each day, especially the Soups.! Martin and Roberto were fantastic..! Lots of fun while doing awesome jobs. Always happy to provide any assistance needed. Reception - Janine, Mirka, and others provided great assistance. We really appreciated their support and assistance! Housekeeping - Monica kept our cabin in wonderful condition. Always nice to enter a clean, fresh cabin. Arno, Virginie, Ava were superb guides.! Very knowledgeable and made our tours fun..! Also enjoyed Arno?s onboard talk / presentation. Another Super Fantastic Uniworld Cruise..! See you again soon..!“ - Polly -

“We are glowing (as is our feedback)! AJ is fabulous and has great charisma. We loved our waiter, Teodor. Magda is smart, knowledgeable, and charming. All the staff are kind, efficient, friendly, and professional. The ship is beautiful. We didn?t partake of the entertainment very much, but I especially enjoyed the silent disco. The only improvement we could ask for is the Wi-fi on the deck. It has been another exquisite Uniworld experience. Thank you! “ - Alice -

“Had a great time. Bike excursion was too long and not enough sites to see great experience with staff. Hugo, Christina, Andrea, Melinda, Tomas, Reena, Istvan, were great and really added to the experience being wonderful. Traveled as a group of 8 and we all felt the same way. They deserve recognition for their over the top customer/guest experience. These were the people we interacted with but all others were great as well. Captain(s) were fantastic as well.“ - Henry -

“The staff on the Joie de Vivre were wonderful and quite attentive to making sure you have a great experience onboard. Some staff standouts onboard were Sven, Adrian, Violeta, Marco and Vivien (servers/bartenders). Our tour hosts were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Dominique was AMAZING. Her knowledge of WW 2 and the events on Normandy Beach was completely astonishing. The tour guides were very informative. The food was delicious and plentiful. The cocktails and pre-dinner meets in the lounge were so relaxing. It was nice to chat with people onboard from various parts of the world. We loved the Hot Stompers and singer Sarah who performed during the week. This was our second sailing with Uniworld and we still are fans of the brand. Until next time...à bientôt!“ - Steven -

“Mirela was absolutely amazing! She is so knowledgeable and fun. I also loved Veronica at the front desk who was so very kind to me. Patricia and Glasi in the restaurant/bar were both gems. They were so sweet and very funny. I miss them this week! There was another server in the restaurant and his name started with Val and he took care of us a lot too. Very nice guy. And the other tall server who was maybe Portuguese? I am usually so good with remembering names, but for some reason I forget his. He went out of his way to smile and make eye contact every time. They each did so much for me and we laughed and joked around a lot. I don’t know our housekeeper’s name, but she went out of her way to make my bed more firm. It wasn’t very comfortable, but she did her best to make it better and our room was SPOTLESS. (Cabin 429). Our local tour guides were SO incredible. Every single one of them. Especially the Lenz tour where we went to the Cider Farm. What a great partnership with Josef, the farmer. Please never end that wonderful partnership. I can’t wait to come back to Uniworld again.“ - Laurie -
S.S. La Venezia - Venice & the Jewels of Veneto

“Your attention to personal attention is so very much appreciated. Our maitre d worked with the chef and had lasagne made just for me because I mentioned it on the mid-cruise survey! One of our waiters gave me a button that had come off my jacket I’d worn the day before to dinner. I didn’t even realize I’d lost it! Louisa worked it out so we could go on the oaring experience together that had filled up - an unforgettable time for sure! She then took photos and sent them to us. If I needed anything from help with the safe or a a new baggage tag (it broke), the kind staff was at my door within 2 minutes to help. The disembarkation was explained and carried out so very well. Your staff works so hard and does so with a smile - every time. Daniella and Magdalena, we miss you already. Jose, you have the best smile behind the soup station! The wait staff in the dining room is wonderful. Someone heard me raving about our experience, and said she’d just been looking at a possible UniWorld booking and wondered about it. I assured her it was a good choice. I’ve used too many exclamation points, but I wanted to emphasize my pleasant surprise. It’s no wonder you have so many repeat cruisers. This is my second one with you and I’d love another!.“ - Carolyn -
Trafalgar Reverie - Best of the Danube

“The onboard experience was really exceptional. All the staff and crew were amazing, the food delicious, great communication and safe sailing. Sabrina and Brandi are a great team and made everything seem seamless. We enjoyed the onboard entertainment. Christian and his team made everything feel 5 star, and we really have to commend the chef and kitchen staff as well. The cleaning crew did a superb job keeping the ship sparkling clean. It was fun and an honor to be part of the maiden voyage and the accompanying festivities. It was wonderful to see how passionate everyone is about their jobs and their excitement about launching this new venture. We really enjoyed the slow travel on the river rather than packing up and moving on every other day. We made some lovely friends, including the ship’s delightful god mother and her husband. The only slightly disappointing aspect was some of the included shore activities felt a bit lack luster in comparison to other tours we’ve been on in the past.“ - Lizette -

Trafalgar Verity - Best of the Rhine & Amsterdam

“For a first cruise the staff did well. There were a few changes to times and meeting places at the end of the excursion, while the day excursion was happening, which was confusing but it all worked out. The free shoulder massage by Daniel on our arrival at the ship was very good and very welcome. I enjoyed the one exercise class i went to run by Daniel. Tiego our waiter was excellent. Lucien was very good at ensuring my husband was given food suitable for his special diet.“ - Margaret -

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our beloved guest, Mary Humphreys, as she sails on her remarkable 77th Uniworld cruise aboard the S.S. Victoria. It has been our true honor to welcome her back so many times and to share countless unforgettable journeys together.

It is a real pleasure to show our appreciation to those with special anniversaries, but also to everybody else for their passion, commitment and perseverance. We are so grateful for the amazing team and feel privileged for the opportunity to work with all of you. Join us in congratulating them:

2 large garlic cloves, peeled / 1/4 cup (60 ml) extra-virgin olive oil / 1/4 cup (60 ml) pure olive oil
4 medium zucchini (about 11/2 lbs/680 g), sliced into 1/4-inch thick (3-mm-thick) rounds / 1/2 tsp (3 g) fine sea salt / 32 littleneck clams (about 3 12 lbs/1 23 kg), washed / 1/4tsp (1 g) hot red pepper (chili) flakes, plus extra for serving / 2 Tbsp (30 g) chopped Italian parsley / 12 oz (340 g) linguine / 1 Tbsp (14 g) unsalted butter
1. Put a pot of water with salt on to boil.
2. Lightly crush the garlic cloves and heat with both oils in a large, nonreactive sauté pan over medium heat until they start to sizzle. Adjust the heat so garlic continues to cook evenly in the oil, releasing its own oils, and softens but does not brown (about 2 minutes). Add the zucchini and carefully blend with oil. Season with salt.
3. Continue cooking slowly, stirring from time to time, until zucchini is completely softened and starts to break apart but does not brown (about 20 minutes). Remove from heat and let rest in the oil for 2 hours. Pour into a fine-mesh strainer, reserving the zucchini and oil separately. Keep the same pan, without cleaning, for cooking the clams.
4. Heat the zucchini oil in the pan over medium heat until it starts to sizzle. Add clams, cover the pan and turn the heat to medium-high. Cook the clams and gently shake the pan from time to time until they start to open (about 5 to 6 minutes). The cooking time will vary, depending on size of the clams and thickness of the shells. Add the reserved zucchini, hot pepper flakes and parsley. Gently stir with the clams. Set aside.
5. Cook the pasta al dente. Reheat the clams and the zucchini mixture, add the pasta and toss for a further minute to let the juices from the clams be absorbed into the pasta. Add butter at last moment to sauce for a rich flavor and “shine” (in french monter the sauce). Serve right away.
