Fashion Weeks are celebrated around the globe and has been proven to be the number one medium for presenting the work of fashion designers and other fashion-oriented crafts. It is known these events boost visibility and profit to the surrounding businesses.

During this fashion week, there will be multiple fashion and promotional events throughout the Lehigh Valley, where we will collaborate with sponsoring businesses.

Lehigh Valley Fashion Week is an organization highlighting the fashion industry in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. Our first fashion week will be held on Aug. 14th to Aug.22nd, 2015.

He was part of a small group of advanced level students that were awarded the opportunity to study abroad in the United States, and at the age of 15 he arrived in America ready to pursue his dreams as a designer. He devoted all of his free time to studying every aspect of fashion design, and through lots of practice, He taught myself how to sew. ​ he biggest challenge for him was trying to start a company while keeping up T with his studies as a full time student, but he was determined. During 2013, he picked up several commissions throughout the year, and was nominated for the 2013 F.A.C.E. awards, and he won! He made the cover of About Magazine and finished his first couture line. He had the honor of showing his designs in Austin, and Dallas, fashion weeks in 2014, and as a result he was featured in Dallas Fab Magazine. In December 2014, He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in international business and was ready to take the next step with Mysterious by NPN.

​ aving already showed at Houston Artopia and New York Fashion week, 2015 H has brought exciting opportunities for the company and it’s not over yet! So much has changed in my life, says Mysterious. I have so much to be grateful for. This is just the beginning.. ​ The collection is basically the embodiment of the designer, himself. Growing up in Vietnam, then starting a new life in the United States, that’s the combination for what sparked this line. The collection’s foundation was inspired by traditional Vietnamese dresses and headpieces, but by infusing unique materials, such as lace and crystals, the classic traditions gained their modern appeal. His designs are very sophisticated and romantic. He wants the person wearing the garment to feel sexy, strong, and radiate confidence. A little eastern; a little western, and voila, c'est Mysterious by NPN!

Stush

New York based fashion Designer Carlos Williams who designs under the label Original Stush, hails from Guyana, the English speaking country in South America. He is 33 years old and is at the peak of his designing career which he acquired through his natural talent.

In 2009, Original Stush moved to New York and opened his show room. The name Original Stush is a popular term commonly used in the Caribbean. It indicates that someone is original and fashion conscious. His is to make

clients comfortable while create outstanding fashion which reveals their inner streghths and beauty.

Carlos specializes in couture swimwear, ready to wear, and men's garments.

Since 1989 she designs, styles, and customizes clothing and accessories with African fabrics mixing them with trendy fabrics such as cotton, linen, satin, organza etc. Became a Brand name in France, Montpelier in 1992. Participated in several Runways, Fashion Shows, TV shows, Miss Black France etc. Back in Congo in 1996 Dressed several Dignitaries and Politician's wives.

My mission is sharing with others my African heritage and rich culture through my designs. Making people aware and connected to the chic world of African Fashion mixed with modern American Fashion.

Today, we are not looking at what's in trend, but we are into building our own unique trend of Kapy Bash Mode.

About Our Foundation: (Kapy Bash for Mothers and Children Charity) Thousand of people suffer from different type of diseases due to poor hygiene, malnutrition, improper drinking water, and lack of accessibility to healthcare facilities. The DR. Congo has one the highest death rate of children under the age of five (1/7 children die before they reach five from Unicef report) and maternal mortality in childbirth.

Our mission is to assist women and children in rural areas of the DR.Congo by providing accessible healthcare: We have

a group of physicians and the head of pediatric department in Congo, Dr. Kamanga who follows up monthly with the children's health status. We are currently emphasizing more in health teaching and lessons provided in rural communities: with our counselor SylvaGracia Lumbayi who talks to the children and mothers, along with a placed group of nurses who lends us a helping hand.

This problem is far from being resolved. It is a big challenge, and we can't fix everything in a blink of an eye, but we can at least do our best to make a difference in the mothers and children lives in our charity. The funds accrued in this event will help us procure more materials to help with the healthcare needs and teaching of our foundation.

She is a graduate from Parsons School of Design. Her passion is creating unique and inspiring one of a kind up-cycled avant garde pieces from found materials.

Larissa’s work has been featured in commercial print advertising and has been published in magazines both nationally and Internationally.

Her designs have been featured in BLEND Magazine and NEXT Magazine where her work was worn by Olympic skater Johnny

Weir. Her custom accessories were used in Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' Metallurgy advertising campaign which was displayed in Sephora stores worldwide.

Through creative and intelligent styling, coupled with skillful photography and out of the box thinking, Stylography is one of a kind. We create evocative, expressive, impactful, images that speak to our audience in a way

that relates to and inspires them.

Sigal Museum

Lehigh Valley Fashion week had the distinct honor to sit down with Andria Zaia, Curator of Collections and Archives of for the Sigal Museum.

Andria Zaia is the Curator of Collections and Archives at the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society, where she cares for the numerous artifacts NCHGS has collected for well over a century. She played a pivotal role in the design process preparing for the 2010 opening of the Sigal Museum of NCHGS and continues to develop new exhibits for visitors to enjoy at the museum.

Andria is also a professor of Cultural Anthropology at NCC. Her background includes archaeological research of prehistoric textile manufacture in the American Southwest as well as contemporary fieldwork with Rio Grande weavers in New Mexico involved in a welfare to work initiative, entitled Tapetes de Lana. Her research has led her to study weaving traditions in the Saharan region of Morocco and she is currently investigating the trans-Atlantic movement of design during the Spanish Colonial era. Also a textile artist; Andria has been involved in spinning, natural dyeing,

weaving, and building looms for over 15 years.

How did the Sigal Museum come about?

The Sigal Museum came about in response to NCHGS’ vision to showcase our extensive collection of Northampton County history. The Sigal Museum of NCHGS opened in 2010 to share the stories and history of Northampton County with the community. Museums are a wonderful place for perspective in our society.

People come to museums to reflect, learn, and step outside themselves for a moment to connect with people and places of the past.

Who or what inspired you to become a Curator?

Where did you learn your skills?

I don’t remember a time when I didn’t love museums. From a young age, I became involved with volunteer programs at various museums then I worked alongside curators in collection departments as a teenager. When I was in college, I designed my first exhibit. My graduate work was in ethnographic textiles of the American Southwest and I continue to study textiles and the societies who make them.

From the “Eras of Elegance Showcase at the Sigal Museum which era is your most favorite and why? (it will be nice to mention a historic highlight of that era as well) I definitely have my favorite gowns from each of the eras highlighted in Eras of Elegance. I love the embroidery work on the 18th and early 19th century pieces and especially enjoy the decadent silk fabrics worn during the 19th century, as well.

The silhouettes made such dramatic changes from the 1750s through the 1920s. However, I think my favorite shapes came from the 1830s, 40s. The bodices were fitted and shaped, while the skirts began fan out. They weren’t as bell shaped as those of the 1850s, 60s, but they had a balanced fullness to them. Women had lovely accessories such as the draped paisley shawls and lace bonnets.

The Lehigh Valley has had a great history of being fashion forward. Lehigh Valley Fashion Week seek to connect modern fashionistas of the valley with the rich history that the Sigal Museum offers.
