Pre-heat the oven for approximately 10 minutes. The temperature inside the oven will reach around 100°C (210°F).

Choose a high-mid or mid low arch pad and insert into insole. Put the insole into the shoe to confirm arch fitting and insole selection.

Place the protective toe cap on the nose of the shoe. Prepare the shoe by removing the insole and fully opening the straps and the buckles.

Step 3 When the oven has reached its temperature of around 100 degrees Celsius, place the shoes and the insoles into the oven for 1 minute. Be sure that the toes of the shoes point toward yourself.

Take the shoes and insoles out of the oven. Place the insoles back into the shoes.

Put the shoes (now with the insoles in place) back into the oven for 2 more minutes. Then remove the shoes from the oven.

Step 4 Ask the customer to place his feet in his shoes and press his heels firmly into the heel-cups. Close and adjust the straps to the intended fit preferred by the user.

Step 5 Enter foot in the bag with nose cap. Adjust position of hose connection to the heel of the foot. Close and seal the bag using the special ankle strap.

Step 6 Let the user stand up and apply weight on the front of the shoes (around the thenar) equally on both sides. Switch on the vacuum pump and apply vacuum force for 2 minutes.

FINISH

After two minutes of applied vacuum pressure, remove the bag and the toe cap from the customer’s foot. but keep the shoe on until it is fully cooled down to about body temperature for another 5 minutes to set the fit.

REPLACEABLE TOE SPIKES Toe spikes can be swapped out according to the riding environment. On dry, solid rocks, use the resin type. When you need more traction --say, in muddy conditions or in loose sand or dirt --choose the metal-tipped XC spikes.

Shimano uses rubber for the soles of cycling shoes designed to accommodate some walking. Being both flexible and slip-resistant, rubber soles provide excellent traction on wet or inclined surfaces.

To alleviate this pressure and reduce discomfort when you’re off the bike, we relocated the strap’s fastening section to the side of the shoe.

Unlike conventional closures, Shimano’s anatomically precise offset straps relieve tension at the highest point of the foot, where pressure tends to be greatest.

The composition of Rovenica is more similar to genuine leather than other materials. Most are filled with voids and pockets that absorb water. Rovenica does not have these voids and will not sponge up, staying light and quick even in the rain. After custom fit, the pressure is dispersed evenly, and supported by the broader area. Also body mass movement is less with custom fit innersole. This means the heel bone angle is optimized, and the feet do not move around in the shoes.

SPD System First Time User Information If you are using SPD binding shoes for the first time, it is recommended you practice clipping the shoes in and out a number of times before riding on the road. Also, please read the service instructions that came with your pedal carefully.

Adjusting the spring tension of binding

If you are using SPD shoes and pedals for the first time, adjust the spring tension for attaching the pedal cleats lighter. (For further information, please consult with your local Shimano dealer.) Then, place one foot on the ground and practice engaging and releasing each shoe from its pedal until you can do so naturally and with minimal effort. Use a safe open space for the practice.

When the adjustment bolt is turned clockwise, the spring tension increases and when it is turned counterclockwise, the spring tension decreases.

Finding the right spring tension of binding When you put too much force on the pedals, your shoes may come out of the pedals unexpectedly or accidentally. (This trouble tends to occur when the spring tension is weaker.) To avoid this problem, you need to find out the optimum spring tension by practicing over and over while trying different pedaling forces and various pedaling styles.

Warning: Do not use the pedals and cleats in any way other than as described in the service instruction manuals. The cleats are designed to engage and release from the pedals when the cleats and pedals are facing forward. Cleats wear out over time and must be replaced regularly. Replace your cleats when you find them worn and too hard or too easy to release.

Releasing the cleats from the pedals (The release mode varies according to the type of cleats you are using.)

If you do not maintain your cleats in good condition, your shoes may not come out of the pedals when you intend or they may come out unexpectedly or accidentally and you may fall off the bicycle.

INTRODUCING SHIMANO CUSTOM-FIT TECHNOLOGY How does it work? Follow this step-by-step procedure

Molding the insole

Procedure applies to SH-R320, R260, XC90 and XC70 Shimano’s Custom-Fit models only. Caution: please only use the above mentioned devices supplied by Shimano for both molding procedures. Always wear the special gloves delivered with the molding package. Molding procedure always without shoe cleats! WARNING! The Shimano Custom-Fit insoles can be used as they are without heat molding, but any heat molding must be done by an authorized Shimano footwear dealer. If it is done incorrectly, warping of the insole or serious injury may result.

Pre-heat the oven for approximately 10 minutes. The temperature inside the oven will reach around 100°C (210°F).

Choose a high-mid or mid low arch pad and insert into insole.

Put the insole into shoe and confirm arch fitting.

Put the insole into the oven for 1minute.

Step 4 Put the insole back into the shoe.

Step 5 Place foot into the shoe. Close the straps and buckle to the intended fit preferred by the user.

Ask the customer to stand still for approximately 5 minutes with his/her full weight applied to both inner soles for their imprints. At this time, apply weight on the front of the shoes.

FINISH After five minutes, inner soles should cool down to almost body temperature and conformed to the rider’s feet.
