En México, solamente el Estado de Baja California se encuentra en esta privilegiada franja. Sin embargo, otras regiones del país encuentran las condiciones idóneas para los viñedos gracias a la altura de la Sierra Madre y Altiplano Central.

he wine growing regions of the world are characterized by ideal climate conditions for the cultivation of grapevines. These are mostly concentrated in areas along the Tropic of Cancer, in what is known as the Mediterranean climate. In Mexico, only the state of Baja California sits along this privileged global line. However, suitable conditions for planting vines may also be found in other regions of the country, due to the altitude of the Sierra Madre and the Central Plain.
En la actualidad, existen en el país un total de 6 Estados donde se produce vino, los cuales se dividen en tres regiones, que reúnen entre todas más de medio centenar de bodegas productoras de diferentes vinos tintos, rosados y blancos.

Región Norte • BAJA CALIFORNIA Clima Mediterráneo y extremoso, semiárido con una temperatura promedio anual de 25°C. Veranos secos e inviernos frescos y lluviosos. Varietales -Tinto: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Barbera, Zinfandel Nebbiolo, Tempranillo, Grenache, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah y Petit Syrah. -Blanco: Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Palomino, Riesling y Viognier.
