Akumal significa “Lugar de Tortugas” en maya, donde año con año, cientos de tortugas verdes y caguama llegan a sus orillas para desovar. Se ubica en una bahía protegida por arrecifes, por lo que las aguas son tranquilas y perfectas para nadar y bucear. La caleta Yalkú se haya al norte siguiendo el camino de la Bahía Media Luna. Con hoteles, casas particulares y condominios para rentar, Akumal ofrece al visitante todas las comodidades, incluyendo restaurantes con especialidades internacionales.
Akumal means “turtle’s place” in Mayan, where every year hundreds of green and loggerhead sea turtles arrive at its shores to nest. It is located on a reef-protected bay, that is why its waters are calm and perfect to swim and scuba dive. Yalku’s cove is on the north follo-wing the path of the Half Moon Bay. With hotels, houses and condominiums for rent, Akumal offers total comfort to its visitors including restaurants with international specialties.

Paamul, es un sitio de fantasía para los intrépidos que desean experimentar el placer de la naturaleza en su estado original, pues se encuentra alejada del bullicio, se puede practicar la pesca o el buceo y además cuenta con cabañas rústicas ubicadas entre la selva y el mar turquesa. Es también el lugar elegido por las tortugas marinas para desovar en las noches, entre los meses de mayo a julio, determinando que sea también considerado como un sitio ecológico.
Paamul, is a fantasy place for the bold that wish to experiment the pleasure of nature in its original state, since it is away from the noise, you can fish, or scuba dive, and it has some incredibly located rustic cabins, between the jungle and the blue ocean. It is also the chosen place by sea turtles to nest at nights between May and July, considering it also as an ecological site.
Tip viajero: La entrada a esta playa sólo tiene un letrero, así que hay que estar muy pendientes al ir viajando sobre la carretera para no perderla. El entorno es rústico y muy tranquilo, aquí no hay clubes de playa, pero hay un excelente restaurante con alberca y baños.

Efectivamente, ambas playas son paradisíacas, con una gran extensión de arena y la inmensidad del mar para tu disfrute prácticamente privado, pues son playas semi-vírgenes, en las que encuentras caracoles, restos de arrecife y estrellas marinas al caminar por la orilla. Aquí suelen anidar cangrejos y tortugas marinas. En la zona se ofrece alojamiento en cabañas y Playa Paraíso cuenta con un hotel “todo incluido”.
Yes in deed, both beaches are spectacular, with a considerable sand extension and the immensity of the sea for you enjoy, practically in private, since these are semi-virgin beaches, in which you will find snails, reef remains, and starfishes as you walk by its shores. La inmensidad del mar te envuelve y te recibe con los brazos abiertos en esta extensión limpia y aislada de bellísimas playas, es un lugar mágico, ideal para pasar todo el día en total relajación. Es la playa mas importante de México para la anidación de las tortugas marinas la blanca y la caguama. De mayo a octubre estas especies arriban a la playa y de las 9 de la noche en adelante los biólogos trabajan para proteger a las tortugas hembras y sus huevos además de las tortugas bebé. El horario de visita es de 9 am a 6 pm.
The immensity of the sea welcomes you with its arms wide open in this clean isolated extension of beautiful beaches, in a magical place, perfect to spend all day in total relaxation. It is the most important Mexican beach for white and loggerhead sea turtle nesting. From May to October, this species arrive to the beach, and from 9 pm onwards, biologists work to protect the female turtles and their eggs as well as the baby turtles. Traveler Tip: be very careful driving past Chemuyil, coming from Playa del Carmen, since just one kilometer away is the only entrance, at this moment there are no signs, if you do not see the entrance you will miss it, you can make a “U” turn in Xel-Ha and head about two kilometers towards Playa. Actualmente existen diferentes tipos de mole, cada región imprimió su sello propio y así fueron surgiendo el mole poblano, el mole negro de Oaxaca, el mole amarillito del sureste, el mole coloradito del Valle de México, el ranchero de la Altiplanicie, el mole de Xico y otros muchos que nos asombran tanto por su complejidad como por su sencillez.
