he Ultrajewels Division of Grupo Ultrafemme, this year, 2010, celebrates its 20th birthday. And it is going to do it up big given the history that this division has established by being the jewelry stores of excellence in Southeastern Mexico as well as in Los Cabos.

Throughout these years, they have achieved the distribution of the most prestigious brands of jewelry and the finest of timepieces in each of their locations.

As a consequence, the Division will offer a series of events to celebrate the 20 years of its existence, starting with the unveiling of the campaign featuring its own sales consultants from the various Ultrajewels stores.

“This campaign fills us with pride because these are our sales consultants, the ones who transmit the joy of this celebration because they were chosen to be the images of our campaign”, commented Claudia Altamirano, Ultrajewels Marketing Manager.

The first consultants to be presented were Ana Bocos of the Ultrajewels store in the La Isla Shopping Village in the Cancun hotel zone; Aaron Ferreira of the new Ultrajewels store in Malecon Americas in downtown Cancun and Mauricio Chazaro of the Ultrajewels store in Playa del Carmen. Theirs will be the images contained in the commemorative posters, each one meter high that will launch the 20th anniversary campaign. They were present for the unveiling at a press conference that was held in the new store at Malecon Americas. Each month, new posters will be unveiled with the images of Ultrajewels Sales Consultants from stores in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Los Cabos.

Also, as part of the celebration, Ultrajewels will sponsor a literary contest, The Ultrajewels Golden Pen, in which all manner of writers will be allowed to participate, both professionals and non-professionals in either Spanish or English, the two languages used most frequently at Ultrajewels.

Ivanka Trump SU NUEVA COLECCIÓN DE JOYERÍA EN DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL HER NEW JEWELRY COLLECTION IN DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL res una persona muy ocupada ¿Como balanceas el trabajo como vicepresidenta ejecutiva de Trump Organization con tu trabajo dentro de tu propia compañía de joyería? ¿Cual es la más dominante?

El horario de cada día es diferente para mí. Generalmente me levanto, hago ejercicio y leo un considerable número de periódicos. Llego a la oficina entre 7:30 y 8:00 am –mis hermanos y yo siempre somos los primeros en llegar. Mis días están generalmente llenos con un gran número de juntas– todo desde diseño de hotel, administración de edificios, hasta iniciativas de joyería, nuevas propuestas de desarrollo, estrategias de mercadotecnia y muy a menudo filmando para “El Aprendiz”. Trato de apegarme a un horario muy estricto y nunca llego tarde, esto es algo que aprendí de mi padre. También trato de agendar tiempo entre esas juntas para regresar llamadas y correos electrónicos, ya que pienso que es muy importante responder directamente la correspondencia en un tiempo oportuno.

Mi enfoque principal seguirá siendo el expandir la marca Trump globalmente a través de los bienes raíces y empresas hoteleras compartidas. ou’re a very busy person. How do you balance your work as executive vice president in the Trump Organization with your work in your own jewelry company? Which is the dominant one?

Every day’s schedule is different for me. I generally wake up, exercise and read through a copious amount of newspapers. I arrive at the office somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m – my brothers and I are always the first ones in. My days are often filled with a large volume of meetings – everything from hotel design to building management to jewelry initiatives to new deal development to marketing strategy and often, filming for the Apprentice.

I try to stick to a very strict schedule and I am never late –this is something that I learned from my father. I also try to schedule some time between those meetings to return phone calls and emails, as I think that it is very important to respond to direct correspondence in a timely manner.

My main focus will continue to be on expanding the Trump brand globally through real estate and hotel ventures. Additionally, I would like to continue to grow my personal brand in a wide variety of luxury lifestyle businesses including the fine jewelry line, a footwear and handbag line (coming Spring 2011), my book The Trump Card (NYTimes Bestseller).

What drew you to designing jewelry, and where is the business heading?

My mother’s legacy jewelry collection always inspired me.

And my love for the classic aesthetic helped propel my vision. I realized the luxury fine jewelry market was missing a fresh, young design approach –that’s where my jewelry line’s vision of “Rock Tradition” plays a vital role– it’s a modern twist on jewelry’s most important classic.

We are currently expanding nationally in important markets such as the Carribbean, New York City, Long Island, Greenwich, Chicago, Florida markets, Houston, Dallas, Denver, California markets among many other national and international retail partners in Hong Kong and the Middle East.

I am deeply committed to the success of the retail partners –their success is my success. This year I am proud to be launching through Diamonds International –one of the world’s premier fine jewelers. I am thrilled to be partnering up with Diamonds International– their customer is aligned with my own target audience: a smart, sophisticated modern woman who appreciates quality and craftsmanship.

Mis padres siempre nos enseñaron que trabajar arduamente nunca pasa de moda. Mi niñez me preparó para una carrera de retos que requiere ambición, una fuerte ética de trabajo y determinación. Me levanto cada día con un plan enfocado de cumplir todas mis metas profesionales, personales y de estilo de vida, -esa es la lección invaluable que mis padres nos enseñaron a mí y a mis hermanos. ¿Estás involucrada filantrópicamente con alguna organización?

Recientemente fui designada como Embajadora de la Fundación de las Naciones Unidas de la iniciativa Girl-up, una campaña para reclutar a mujeres jóvenes para ayudar a las Naciones Unidas en los programas para niñas en países en desarrollo. How does that manifest itself in your day-to-day life, and in your relationship with your brothers?

My parents always taught us that hard work never goes out of style! My upbringing has prepared me for a challenging career that requires ambition, a strong work ethic and determination.

I wake up every day with a focused, organized plan to meet all my professional, personal and lifestyle goals –that is the invaluable lesson my parents taught my brothers and I.

Are you philanthropically involved with any organizations?

I was recently tapped to be a spokesperson for the U.N. Foundation’s Girl-Up initiative, a campaign to recruit young women to support U.N. programs for girls in developing countries. I am partnering with social activists such as Elizabeth Gore and Queen Rania of Jordan with the Girl-Up campaign in hopes to bring awareness and career skills to young women around the world.

I am also involved with several other charitable organizations, including the Eric Trump Foundation and the New York City Police Foundation.

Are you still traveling a lot for your real estate projects and your jewelry business? If so, where are you heading next?

Travel is part of my role at Trump Org and the Fine Jewelry line. I am heading to Europe and Middle East next.

What type of audience do you feel your fine jewelry collection appeals to?

I wanted to design jewelry for the modern, sophisticated, self-purchasing woman of today. I wanted women to see the jewelry and be able to buy themselves an important piece of jewelry right away –without asking “him”. My audience are women of all ages, all types– a woman who knows exactly what she wants and a woman who is not afraid to express herself through jewelry.

Quería diseñar joyería para la mujer de hoy, moderna, sofisticada, y con un poder adquisitivo propio. Quería que la mujer vea esta joyería y se sienta capaz de comprarse ella misma una importante pieza de joyería al instante sin tener que preguntarle a “él”.

Mi público son mujeres de todas las edades, y tipos -mujeres que saben exactamente lo que quieren y que no tienen miedo de expresarse a través de la joyería. ¿Qué inspiró tu nueva colección? ¿Qué piezas son tus favoritas?

Mi nueva colección está basada en diseños usables y accesibles, diseños que puedes usar ya sea en la oficina y la sala de juntas a una cena con amigos a una cena de gala de etiqueta o una boda en la playa. Cavada a mano, la cava tomó dos años construirla, atendiendo cada detalle como la inyección de oxigeno y control de temperatura, para que sea apropiada para los vinos que se guardan ahí. Está a 6 metros bajo tierra, permitiendo una temperatura adecuada de conservación, cuenta con 136 etiquetas mexicanas, desde vinos artesanales hasta los viñedos de tradición más antiguos. Fue construida con el sueño de expresar este tesoro de México. Esta cava está abierta al público y podrán experimentar la armonía perfecta entre nuestra gastronomía y selección de vino.

Entre las muchas cosechas, hay una casa con más de 413 años de tradición, Casa Madero, que fue fundada en 1597. Otro importante vinicultor es Casa Santo Tomas, fundada en 1888, fue la primera marca que comercializó sus botellas de vino en 1939. La cava también cuenta con vinos artesanales como los de la familia Bibayoff. En 1906, 100 familias rusas incluyendo a los Bibayoffs, llegaron al Valle de Guadalupe y con el paso de los años comenzaron pequeños viñedos y de forma artesanal comenzaron a producir sus propios vinos en los treintas.

he spectacular wine cellar of Xcaret has become the Mexican wine embassy, and the concept of bridging the gap between Mexican food and wine has succeeded. This simple yet powerful idea has now created a place in Xcaret where this beverage is fully enjoyed alongside the great Mexican cuisine. The chef Armando Cazares, the sommelier José Luis Hideroa and the Manager Felipe Cedillo wish for the experience to attain a sophisticated gastronomical balance between fusion, molecular, and traditional cooking, combining all of these techniques with all-Mexican ingredients.

éxico se encuentra de festejo en festejo, ya que en septiembre celebró el bicentenario de su Independencia y ahora en noviembre se cumplirá el centenario de la Revolución.

El movimiento revolucionario se inició el 20 de noviembre de 1910, llegando a su culminación en 1917 con la proclamación de la Constitución. Históricamente, es considerado como el acontecimiento social más importante del siglo XX en México.

Fue realizada en contra del dictador Porfirio Díaz quien permaneció en el poder por más de 30 años. Es el personaje más polémico de toda la historia mexicana, ya que durante su mandato el país experimentó un crecimiento económico pero que únicamente beneficiaba a la clase alta, mientras que el grueso de la población como campesinos y obreros se encontraba bajo el yugo de los grandes hacendados.

Francisco Ignacio Madero principal opositor de Díaz redactó el Plan de San Luis, donde proponía realizar un partido político que eligiera a sus candidatos en una asamblea nacional y compitiera en las elecciones, asimismo llamaba al pueblo mexicano a levantarse en armas contra el gobierno de Díaz y proclamaba la famosa frase de la Revolución mexicana “Sufragio efectivo, no reelección”.

El conflicto armado tuvo lugar en primera instancia al norte del país y posteriormente se expandió a todo el territorio nacional, lo que obligó al dictador a renunciar a su cargo y exiliarse en París. En las elecciones de 1911, resultó electo Madero contra la aceptación de numerosos grupos contrarrevolucionarios encabezados por Victoriano Huerta que en 1913 logró destituirlo y asumir la presidencia.

Huerta al llegar al poder, se volvió un dictador que anuló la democracia y la libertad por medio de la fuerza militar, así líderes como Venustiano Carranza, Emiliano Zapata o el célebre Pancho Villa, se levantaron contra el nuevo gobierno. Asimismo, Estados Unidos rechazaba los métodos del nuevo dictador, y en conjunto con los grupos revolucionarios lograron que al año siguiente Huerta abandonara su cargo y el país.

Carranza tomó el poder pero las batallas internas continuaron impidiendo la paz política, y después de muchos presidentes interinos y destituciones forzosas finalmente se llegó al acuerdo entre las diferentes corrientes de promulgar la Constitución del 5 de febrero de 1917, que es la primera en el mundo que incluye derechos laborales y aún permanece vigente en México.

Otro de los grandes logros de la Revolución mexicana fue la participación activa de las mujeres dentro del movimiento, las soldaderas, coronelas y generalas se volvieron íconos de la fuerza femenina en todo el mundo. El feminismo revolucionario impulsó su intervención en todos los ámbitos hasta ese momento puramente masculinos como el político, laboral, educativo y magisterial.

Fue hasta 1920 cuando se terminaron las guerrillas y México consiguió por fin la paz política y social.

It was acted out against the dictator Porfirio Diaz who stayed in power for more than 30 years. He was the most polemic character in all of Mexican history due to during his mandate the country experienced an economic growth but that it only benefited the upper class, while the majority of the population, such as peasants and workers, were under the yoke of big landowners.

Francisco Ignacio Madero was the principal opposed party to Diaz, and composed the Plan de San Luis, in which he proposed to make a political party to elect their candidates in a national assembly and to compete in elections. He also called the Mexican people to revolt against the Diaz government and proclaimed the famous words of the Mexican Revolution “effective suffrage, no reelection”.

The first part of the armed conflict took place in the north of the country and it subsequently spread to the entire national territory, forcing the dictator to resign and go into exile in Paris.

In the elections of 1911, Madero was elected against the acceptance of many counterrevolutionary groups led by Victoriano Huerta, who in 1913 managed to oust him and assumed the presidency.

Huerta came to power, becoming another dictator who annulled the democracy and freedom through military force, and leaders such as Venustiano Carranza, Emiliano Zapata and the famous Pancho Villa’s rose up against the new government. The United States also rejected the methods of the new dictator, and together with the revolutionary groups they succeeded the following year, when Huerta left office and the country.

Carranza took power but internal battles continued preventing political peace, and after many presiding officers and forced removals an agreement was finally reached between the different promulgating currents and the Constitution of February 5, 1917 was signed, being the first in the world that included labor rights; it is still enforced in Mexico.

Another major achievement of the Mexican Revolution was the active participation of women within the movement, including the women soldiers, colonels and generals, who have become icons of female power throughout the world. The revolutionary feminism prompted more feminine inclusion in all areas hitherto purely masculine such as politics, labor, education, and teaching.

It was not until 1920 that the guerrilla fighting ended, and Mexico finally achieved political and social peace.
