Matthew Gilley Newspaper Editor WELCOME to the University of Kent! Congratulations Freshers and welcome back to returning students. University is (apparently) supposed to be the best years of your life and Kent is a great place to come for it. Campus life is vibrant, with
four bars, the Venue, theatre and live music, as well as the Gulbenkian for cinema, and whatever else you can think of. There’s also a whole host of societies, sports clubs and volunteering groups for you to join. The student experience is as much about what you do outside the lecture theatre as inside it, so join anything and everything that takes your
fancy. Check out the Features and Sport sections of the paper to see profiles of some of the choices available to you. Welcome, as well, to the term’s first issue of InQuire, the University of Kent’s fortnightly student newspaper. InQuire has been going since 1965, only a few months after the University itself was founded. Have a look inside for all your
local and student news, debate, reviews, advice from past Freshers, sport and culture. If you’re interested in journalism, love writing, or want to join InQuire for any other reason then come and find us at the Welcome Fayre on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th September or go to http:// www.kentunion.co.uk/ organisation/inquire/.
With the same fee you also get membership to the awardwinning KTV and CSRfm, the University’s student television and radio stations. So really, how could you say no? www.inquirelive.co.uk www.facebook.com/ InQuireMedia @InQuireLive
