The Update Times Pop Culture That's Easy To Come By

Hickman's Xmen Masterpiece here have been many X-men writers over the years starting at Stan Lee. Al‐ though, the X-men were created as an anti-bigot story it didn't succeed during its irst year of publication. Luckily, it did eventually return with an extremely pop‐ ular new tone of social understanding. It

was suspiciously published a few months ater DC published a comic of the same style which was labelled the doom patrol.

Our heroes have looked into the past, present and future to show their dedica‐

tion to their cause. But there cannot be anything to rival the latest and greatest occurrence in their history. he setup by Matthew Rosenberg's Uncanny X-men has been ground-breaking, but nothing could stand up to this.

Jonathon Hickman's work on X-men so far has been amazing. His back to back series known as House Of X and Powers Of X has brought together more than enough aspects of the team. Pepe Larraz must also be commended for his spec‐ tacular art on the comic. he most com‐ pelling thing about this is the way the writer and the artist truly work to make it the best.

It's been a truly effort illed time as Lar‐ raz has explained. He went on the official Marvel website and explained that he read over Hickman's script several times before storyboarding. Luckily, true mar‐ vel fans have been issued for this project.

Hickman has even worked on some of the extremely popular Fantastic 4 comics of that time. his also isn't Hickman's irst rodeo. Hickman worked on the 2015 Marvel event Secret Wars. hat sto‐ ry-line also brought together multiple shards and pieces of Marvel culture and literally stuck them all together.

Hickman also pulled a Rosenberg with his new stories opening up the Marvel universe into two new Marvel books. hese comics are the latest X-men comic and the Maraurders series. he mutants have inally acquired their own nation in the form of the living is‐ land of Krakoa. hey now have to deal with the looming threat of a mutant end‐ ing future. Congress is also an enemy be‐ cause of all of the mutant prejudice among nations.

Most of the future altering heroes are mo longer in commission. he X-man known as Cable was killed by a younger version of himself. his happened during the X-men extermination event. He was killed ater his younger self noticed that Cable was no longer following his pri‐ mary objective. Cable went from pro‐ tecting the timeline at all costs to bend‐ ing it for the beneit of the X-men.

DC's Doomsday he DC Game Clock Changer DC comics has had a complicated histo‐ ry when trying to get their continuity straight. he comics event crisis on ini‐ nite Earths ixed a lot of those problems but other creations led to other errors. he Justice Society of America was moved to the dimension of Earth 2 in DC comics. his was cleaned up in Cri‐ sis on Ininite Earths in which all DC re‐ alities were merged together. his placed the JSA in WWII. According to Doomsday clock, Doctor Manhattan all but erased them from the Detective Comics continuity. Doctor Manhattan originates from the critically acclaimed graphic novel known as Watchmen. It puts the real world conse‐ quences of vigilantism and applies it to a world similar to DC. Manhattan comes from that world. But Manhattan has near god like power that separates him from normal human ac‐ tivity. He's travelled to the main DC uni‐ verse to study it while heroes from the Watchmen universe attempt to seek him out to ix their world that's facing nu‐ clear Armageddon.

Manhattan is reshaping the DC universe and it's up to the heroes to face off against the omnipotent power of Man‐

hattan. his interference from Manhat‐ tan could bring the same fate to the DC universe that occurred to the Watchmen one. his has also brought the revelation of the Superman theory. here's a conspira‐ cy that the American government are creating metahumans. his has caused international tension and everyone be‐ lieves that Superman is a government serving metahuman. his is the deining threat of the story. Manhattan is more of an observer that's being accused if any‐ thing. he story brings the consequences of to‐ day's world and inserts them into the DC universe. he writer Geoff Johns has pulled out every trick that he has up his sleeve to truly bring the story to life. he story really feels more like a Marvel pub‐ lication if anything.

Fans are worried that DC characters have become too "overpowered" as of this story. he ideologies of this story out do the current run on Justice League which reintroduces readers to long gone "power houses". Although the current Justice League run does answer a lot of questions it still lacks the overall sense of mystery that surrounds Doomsday Clock.

he story also addresses a moral conun‐ drum explored greatly in Doomsday Clock. he hero known as Ozymandias orchestrates a monster attack on New York that kills hundreds. his was a ploy to stop nuclear war.

Justice League: Year Of he Villain

he Justice League has had many alterca‐ tions occur to it. hey were nearly de‐ feated by the crime syndicate, wiped out by white Martians and even brought on Lex Luthor as a member. None of those events compare to some of the cosmic proportions of DC's current Justice League run. he borders of the universe known as the source wall has been broken and the Legion Of Doom is there to exploit it. hey've released the goddess of Doom known as Perpetua and they're now on

the brink of victory. he Justice League must now call upon Perpetua's children for assistance. he World forger, he Monitor and he Anti-Monitor. he set up for the story has been im‐ mense and it's reached it's 31st issue. he storylines known as Dark Knights Metal and No Justice have done phenomenal jobs ad world building. Tragedy and mystery have been the building blocks of the book and it's only a matter of time until the ultimate victor of Justice and Doom prevails. he story doesn't directly mention Doomsday Clock but it does have a cameo from the heroes that it all. he Justice Society Of America makes an ap‐ pearance in Justice League #31 but no one remembers them. hat's a direct re‐ sult of the interference of Doctor Man‐ hattan in Doomsday Clock. he character of Star-Man returns dur‐ ing the series as controller of ultimate power. He's directly linked to one of the most powerful sources from beyond the source wall. his makes both a ighter and a compass. His powers are still wide‐ ly debated and fans still haven't wit‐ nessed his full power. his could b e compared to the "Endgame" of DC comics. Although, if the story were to be adapted into a live action picture then it would need to avoid the mistakes made in Justice League 2017. It's unlikely that the same mistake would be made twice but the studio has not had an exceptional track record for "team-ups" as of yet.

Passion Project For he Ages

here were a lot of ideas on how they could integrate the mythos of magical creatures into the our world. hat was supposed to be the lore that Elf Detective was built upon. he explanation of the Lore was scrapped as this was still sup‐ posed to be a children's cartoon. his was backed by Hartman himself. It would've been an interesting relection of our modern day societal borders.

One of the problems was that the Anime style depended on the 80's cartoon look which Orpilla attempted to correct.

Hartman went as far as to even create an Elish alphabet for detail. he characters seemed to have been very developed be‐ fore their plans for airing went into full swing. he two main characters were police chief L.t Gold and detective horn. hey were supposed to go round solving cases among a cache of characters who shall remain nameless. horn was created with a lord of the rings type attitude with minor telepathic and athletic abilities. heInkTank is a junior production com‐ pany created by Rob Orpilla. Orpilla has dabbled in theater and ilm creation but has gone on record to say that the one thing that's stuck with him was his art. heInkTank has worked on many ani‐ mation projects such as the scrapped project known as Elf detective. he long time of cartoons Danny Phantom and Ben 10 then had a surge of inspiration. he cartoon known as Ben 10 was and still is extremely popular and Orpilla was one of the series most prevalent fans. By this time the series had ended with Om‐ niverse and their was a modern day re‐ boot on the way. hat's when the cre‐ ation of the most ambitious fan cross‐ over began. heInkTank started work on 5 Years Lat‐ er which depicted the lives of Ben 10 and Danny Phantom ater 5 years. Danny has retired from being a hero ater revealing his identity and is now researching the multiverse theory. Ater traveling to Ben Tennyson's dimension they discover they must work together to stop villains Eon and ghost villain Vlad from acquiring ul‐ timate power.

A lot of assistance was needed with this projects as it's very ambitious for a fan comic. Multiple creators were brought on board to assist with the art and the writing for the project. It should also be noted that some secondary creators such as member Alex who let because of cre‐ ative differences. It was non hostile.

heInkTank had previously worked on a web comic with a similar feel to 5YL known as Dead. A lot of help was needed

with the project which lead to the hiring of Ryan Asher to join heInkTank for as‐ sistance in the ield of character design. he speciic characters that Asher worked on were alternate versions of Ben 10.

Multiple concepts for the story were cre‐ ated. Huge showings of the abilities of the characters were changed time and time and time again. he original drat of the comic was supposed to incorpo‐ rate many more characters. To conserve "space and time".

Orpilla now works on a new project known as Phantom Hollow. It's unclear whether Orpilla has signed an NDA con‐ cerning the project but much informa‐ tion has remained undisclosed.

he Lost Elf Detective

heInkTank also worked on multiple an‐ imation projects that could've been.

Butch Hartman's greatest creation is by far the popular cartoon Danny Phantom.

In 2017 news started circulating that Danny Phantom would be getting a se‐ quel series on YouTube to introduce the character to newer generations. he se‐ ries that Hartman was working was called imagine Nathan. hat project was the bridge for Rob Orpilla that would al‐ low him to work on more of Hartman's projects.

here was one project that stood out among the rest Orpilla though. hey were developing a cartoon called Elf de‐ tective. Orpilla was hired to assist with character design. he extremely popular One punch man was a good inspiration for Hartman. He tweeted multiple de‐ signs for the main character: Elf Detec‐ tive.

Orpilla was sent story boards and the full pilot script to work on the designs. here was also work on concept art for the character and setting. he contract was also added in the package sent to Orpilla. here wasn't an N.D.A which is the reason the concept for Elf Detective was disclosed by Orpilla himself.

he contract in fact stated if Hartman were to back out of the project Orpilla would still be compensated for his work.

Orpilla himself didn't have the tools that he has now and his current projects are far more detailed. he work that was put into the project should be commended all the same.

Hartman really put a lot of advertise‐ ment into the character with horn be‐ ing featured in streams and videos. Un‐ fortunately, the series seemed very ma‐ ture for the family friendly style Hart‐ man was looking for. Hartman had a lot of creative drive with his Entertainment outlet Oaxis which pushed Elf detective into the corner. here was a failed Elf de‐ tective marketing ploy which just lead to it's inevitable cancellation.

It had the potential to be the next Danny Phantom. Although it might've faded into obscurity it was still an interesting concept. he series could still be used but it's best to consider Danny Phantom Hartman's most successful project.

Sony Cash Grab Possibilities!? he story also brings up the concepts that Sony pictures now have to work with. heir super successful 2018 super‐ hero picture Venom teased a Carnage story line in it's infamous post credits scene. his would further feed into their newly established cinematic universe. his would add to the further excitement for the upcoming Morbius ilm. he Car‐ nage opportunities for Venom 2 will also most likely involve the character of Spi‐ der-Man. Ater the Spider-Man split with Sony then it would be perfectly log‐ ical. he involvement of the character should be taken into great consideration.

Absolute Carnage hanks To Donny Cates What's This All About!?

It's even revealed that the planet of the symbiotes known as kleyntar is actually where they imprisoned Knull. he plan‐ et's name is the symbiote word for prison. Knull made a return in Donny Cates's Venom run but that extension of himself was destroyed by Venom.

Now Carnage wishes to free Knull by collecting codices. he remains that symbiotes leave whenever they leave a host. When all of the codices are collect‐ ed Knull will be able to come back. Car‐ nage was gited with a portion of Knull's power to do this. Carnage has full con‐ trol over the power of a god. he story's setup has been built up since Knull's irst appearance. At some point

in Marvel history, the cult of Knull mate‐ rialized. It's primarily made up of cur‐ rent symbiote hosts or previous symbiote hosts. hey brought Carnage back from the dead using Knull's symbiote dragon to create a new Carnage symbiote ater the original was burned by Spider-Man. Carnage started biding his time and ex‐ panding the cult of Knull. He started spreading his symbiote spores to track down codex holders. He was very active during the Marvel event known as War Of he Realms. Venom was under the control of Malekith and all of the heroes were occupied with the invading forces of the ten realms.

Luckily, the Venom symbiote was made whole again thanks to Malekith's magic.

He one again bonded with Eddie Brock as he couldn't take on Carnage alone.

Carnage has entire plan set up now. here is hope with the offspring of the venom symbiote known as Sleeper who's made a return ater roaming the galaxy.

Other notable symbiotes have made a re‐

turn such as the light foundation sym‐ biotes. hey were ive forcible bred from Venom and were originally bonded with a military team of symbiotes created to hunt Carnage. hey've now been cor‐ rupted by Carnage and have bonded with a family of four. Only four of light foundation symbiotes are together at this point. he ith is known as Scream and the symbiote is currently trying to ight off the inluence of Carnage. his is wildly ironic as Scream used to be the most homicidal off all the symbiotes. he lip was most likely made to give the gravity of the situation justice. his change is saying: "he good guys are now so crazy that the psychopaths are the only ones seeing reason". he Marvel universe has been lipped upside down and Carnage is to blame.

Donny Cates has perfectly woven every detail together. His writing has propelled Marvel comics into a new age. he histo‐ ry of the Marvel universe has been changed many times but this must be

Certain aspects of that story would be toned though. Major plot points such as the Hulk obtaining the Venom symbiote couldn't be included for copyright rea‐ sons. here's also the idea of Miles Morales which is possible. his leads into the possibility of a SpiderVerse crossover ilm. Sony was responsi‐ ble for the animated masterpiece known as Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse. It brought many popular aspects to the ta‐ ble and Sony now has an entire animated universe to work off of.

he multiversal possibilities the animat‐ ed ilm opened up were extremely durable. However, Sony must still tread lightly. heir legacy of failed Spider-Man related franchise ideas is still widely talked about. he failure of Spider-Man three to the largely risky investment of the Amazing Spider-Man ilms are all prime examples.

Although, the live action "Venomverse" that Sony has created could focus on an entirely new Miles Morales. It could fea‐ ture heroes working side by side but this would take a lot of world building. he Marvel Cinematic Universe could be used as inspiration ater knocking it out of the park with the shared universe con‐ cept irst introduced by Universal Stu‐ dios.

However, if Sony was going to create a rival to the MCU then they would have to avoid obvious mistakes. Examples of these include the likes of Man Of Steel and Justice League.

The Forgotten Civil War!?

Amidst all of the drama it was revealed that screenplay writer for X-men First Class Zach Stentz was working on a se‐ cret movie project for Fox. he project would've brought together every charac‐ ter that Fox had at the time. hese char‐ acters would include the Fantastic 4, Xmen and Daredevil. Stentz elaborated on the project during his time on the pod‐ cast Fat man on Batman created by Kevin Smith. Stentz didn't reveal many details about the project but other sources have found more information re‐ garding the plot of the ilm and what it could've meant for Fox.

What Fox Could've Been Taking The Good With The Bad! Fox irst bought the rights to a lurry of Marvel characters in the 1990's and ever since then have dedicated their studio to the creation of both good and bad movies. heir irst major hit came in the form of the 2000 movie X-men. his was followed by X-men united and X-men the last stand. he irst two ilms really just focused on how the X-men handle the threat of humanity and Magneto but the third ilm was when their troubles began. X-men the Last stand under-per‐ formed in terms of ratings and recom‐ mendations but succeeded inancially.

Other notable ilms included Daredevil and the Fantastic 4. he Daredevil movie was created in 2003 and featured Ben Af‐ leck as Daredevil and he only played the role because he thought he'd never get to play Batman. We all know that DC would grant him that role though.

Daredevil would've continued if the spin off ilm Elektra hadn't failed. Daredevil hadn't entirely faded into in obscurity though as Affleck did say that he would be happy to return if Fox planned a grit‐ tier adaptation. Joe Carnahan did start working on a 1970's Daredevil ilm but Fox lost the property ater their time

with the character ran out. Fantastic 4 was barely a success but it made enough money to warrant a sequel, Rise of the silver surfer which didn't do much better. Although, the director Tim Story seemed reluctant to create two more ilms which would introduce actor Dji‐ mon Honsou as Black Panther. Peyton Read who would go on to direct Ant Man could've been the director of Fan‐ tastic 4 but let the project because Fox had different concepts for the team which caused creative differences. he reboot of Fantastic 4 failed horribly and Zach Stentz who directed one of the better X-men movies, First Class, did re‐ veal that the original story for that movie was going to be about how Dr Doom joins the team. Circling back to the Xmen, Fox had an idea for an X-men ori‐ gins series. he irst ilm X-men Origins Wolverine that would be directed by David S. Goyer was hoped to be a hit and its popularity would allow them to continue the series with a Magneto movie. Financially, the movie went well but ratings wise it could've been much better and it was spoken of again. Al‐ though, details from the planned Mag‐ neto movie were carried over into Xmen First Class. his was most likely for convenience. he Origins series largely failed because of higher ups pushing un‐ wanted ideas. his changed the focus to

the action charged parts of the movie rather than the psychology of Wolverine which is one of his deining features.

Fox most likely acknowledged their hit and a miss of a movie with the Origins series with the character of Deadpool be‐ ing wasted in the ilm. At this point the chronological system of X-men movies was lost. here was no saving the time‐ line so a couple of cash grabs were really all they needed. Deadpool was a com‐ plete success despite the obvious R-rat‐ ing. he movie warranted a sequel that introduced the concept of X-force and the Time traveler Cable. X-force was go‐ ing to get its own movie but that project was pretty much considered scrapped because of a tweet from Daniel Richt‐ man.

"As for X-force, it's not "Officially" dead, but they only have two months to start ilming it and that's not gonna happen. So... not happening, not with Fox anyway." -Daniel Richtman on Twitter. hey tried bouncing back with X-men Days Of Future Past which was supposed to come before X-men Apocalypse. Fox explained that they wanted to adapt a story line such as Days Of Future Past as soon as possible. Matthew Vaughn let Fox the script before leaving. Because of

he overall plot had the human torch go‐ ing Supernova in the middle of New York city while ighting the villain Mol‐ ecule Man. his would show the world how dangerous superheroes could be which would lead to the introduction of the Superhuman registration act. Many Marvel fans would be familiar for this.

It's the original plot of the 2006 Marvel comics event Civil War. Fox were planning a Civil war movie which would've had battles like Wolver‐ ine vs Mr Fantastic. If this paper were to predict who would be on either side then he Fantastic 4 on the side of the gov‐ ernment and the X-men pushing against the act. Mutants were never truly re‐ spected in the world that Fox created which would result in the obvious upris‐ ing. Daredevil would probably be on the side of the X-men as he's a masked vigi‐ lante.

If the project was completed then the se‐ quel to the ilm would've been a Skrull invasion. It's worth noting that both Marvel and Fox shared the rights for the Skrulls. Why they didn't go through with the project is unknown. Big screen spec‐ tacles stuffed with beloved characters are all the range nowadays. Other aban‐ doned projects include Multiple Man, Kitty Pride, Gambit, Silver Surfer, Dr Doom and the previously mentioned Xforce.
