Greg Dunn Neuroscience artist
“I am a self-taught
artist, and draw a lot from my
scientific knowledge to make my art” 1. Where are you from?
Interview 160
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I received my bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and genetics at UC Berkeley, and then lived in Seattle, WA for several years working as a lab technician before going to grad school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
2. What did you study?
I studied molecular biology in college, and then switched to neuroscience for graduate school. My thesis was on the transgenerational epigenetic transmission of body size in mice. We studied how a pregnant mouse eating a high fat diet would pass on various traits to her offspring, and how those traits would persist through several generations.
