Airside Link Between Terminals is One of Many Updates Making LAX Efficient, Dependable and UserFriendly (Los Angeles) When Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)’s Terminal 3 and Tom Bradley International Terminal connector recently opened, ticketed passengers and airport employees began enjoying unimpeded pedestrian access across LAX’s terminals post-security. The new path of travel equals approximately 2-miles from Terminal 1 to Terminal 8, allowing airport guests to conveniently journey to connecting flights and an abundant collection of offerings including food and beverage vendors, shopping and entertainment experiences, lounges, children’s play areas and pet relief stations, among others. This transformational moment represents the first time in the airport’s almost century-long history that unrestricted terminal-to-terminal access has been available to users. Inglewood City Hall May Offer Voters A Convenient Polling Place During The 2024 Election Season

With the 2024 Election season fast approaching, city officials are working to provide Inglewood City Hall as a polling place, offering voters a convenient and safe place to cast their ballots.

During the October 3rd City Council meeting, City Clerk Aisha Thompson said she hoped to receive confirmation from the Los Angeles County RegistrarRecorder’s office to offer City Hall as a polling place.

“I just want to get the word out to our public that there is a primary election coming on March 5, 2024,” said Thompson. “ I, and my office, are working with the County Registrar’s office to have City Hall as a polling location,” said Thompson. “I am working diligently to get that confirmed,” she said, adding that Sample Ballots will be mailed out by January 5th and the vote by mail will go out no later than February 5th. It was a business-as-usual day at City Council, but it was mostly good news. Councilwoman Gloria Gray reported that the Pickle Ball Courts now have lights. However, residents in the Park Circle area will not be receiving speed bumps.

Condolences and tributes poured in from California’s Black community after the passing of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

Lawmakers, business leaders, and political service organizations expressed their condolences and sympathy to family, friends, and staff of U.S. Sen. Feinstein, 90, who died of natural causes in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 28.

On Friday, in a statement, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said, “In Senator Feinstein’s honor, I am directing the flags flying at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff.”

“I am saddened by the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, one of our nation’s great leaders and someone I was blessed to call a colleague and friend,” added Bass. “Senator Feinstein was a trailblazer on whose shoulders I, and women in elected office all across America, will always stand. She worked harder than anyone I knew on Capitol Hill, and she will be remembered as one of the most effective and impactful Senators in American history.”

Feinstein made history as the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from California. She served over three decades in the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress and was the oldest

On September 30, 2023, the City of Inglewood held a Document Shredding Day at the ICOP Center in District 1. Councilwoman Gloria Gray, District 1 greeted close to 100 residents who participated in the event. “Many of my residents had requested this service and I was pleased the City could do this. It also was a great opportunity to interact with many of my neighbors,” said Councilwoman Gray.

Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Khalil Mack today was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week by the league office. It marks the fourth Defensive Player of the Week honor of his career.

Mack led all NFL players in Week 4 with a franchise-record six sacks — including a pair of strip-sacks, which tied a team record. It marked the first six-sack performance by any defender in the NFL since 2017 and just the sixth since sacks began being tracked in 1982. Mack added 10 tackles (eight solo), five tackles for loss, four quarterback hits and a pass defensed, making him the only player in the last 20 seasons to register four quarterback hits and double-digit tackles in the same game.

Along with his five-sack performance

in 2015, Mack joined Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas as the only players with multiple games of at least five sacks since the stat began being tracked in 1982.

Mack’s six sacks and two strip-sacks this season are tied for league highs, and he is the only player in 2023 to total at least 15 tackles, four sacks and two passes defensed.

Mack is the first Chargers defender recognized with the weekly accolade since 2020 and is the 25th different Bolts defender to win the award. He was previously named AFC Defensive Player of the Week three times (2016 Week 12, 2016 Week 9 and 2015 Week 14). Mack was also twice recognized as Defensive Player of the Month (NFC in September 2018, AFC in November 2016).
