State of the City Reflects Benchmarks and a Unified Council

T

he State of the City Address represents more than the opportunity to give performance benchmarks to the public. I will use this time to inform, but more importantly, articulate the context of how we, the council, govern the city, and articulate a vision for the future for which the citizens can hold the mayor and city council accountable. I am proud that we have fixed our Residential Sound Insulation program. We sound-insulated 1,020 Inglewood residences during the past year, a number more that 250% higher than any year before that, and 10 times more than the year before I took office. But I am more proud that in fixing this problem, our council works as a team, not jockeying for credit and sending the message to LAWA and other business and governmental partners that we work together in Inglewood to get things done for the residents.
