Century Blvd., Los Angeles, 90045, from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. CITY OF INGLEWOOD EARTH DAY 2019 – April 20 •Saturday, April 20th , the City of Inglewood will present the 2019 Earth Day celebration on the South lawn of the Inglewood City Hall Building, from 10 am – 6 pm.
On Monday, Jason Gannon, Managing Director of the Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District at Hollywood Park (LASED) welcomed the media, elected officials and special guests to a ceremony commemorating the completion of the outer shell of the iconic canopy that will sit above the bowl - that will be the new home for the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams, Champions Plaza and the performance venue of the stadium and
entertainment complex district under construction in Inglewood, California. The three part canopy was lifted by one of the largest cranes in the world, measuring nearly as tall as the length of a football field. It lifted 31 preassembled steel sections that formed the shell and the compression ring of the canopy and was easily capable of lifting the heaviest piece of the steel roof shell that weighed 2.4 million pounds. Mayor Butts altered the flow of the weekly city council meeting placing the Public Hearing to receive additional information and public comments regarding the Inglewood City Council March 5, 2019, adoption of Housing Protection Initiative Ordinance No. 19-07 (Emergency Ordinance Imposing a 45-day moratorium (with the option to extend for an additional ten (10) months and 15 days (total of oneyear)) limiting rent increases to 5% per year on certain residential properties within the City of Inglewood), at the end, rather than the beginning of the meeting acknowledging the number of people who were apparently interested in sounding-off on the rent stabilization matter. The council made swift work of the
