And just like that, the days are getting longer and the weather is warming up –we’re trading red wine by the fire for rosé in the sunshine, and swapping multiple layers for linen as the Gold Coast starts to bloom again. Think bright new bakeries, refreshed local cafes, colourful new dessert bars, and our fav shopping centres to sip, snack and snap all season long. We’ve also tracked down epic local escapes, from lush day spas to the best spots for a spontaneous road trip. You’ll find plenty of glow-ups, grand openings and good-time ideas to keep your calendar buzzing. So throw on your sunnies, grab a spritz and get stuck in. MEET YOUR NEW CROISSANT CRUSH
Luna’s Deli brings French-trained flair and buttery goodies to Cooly.
Say bonjour to your newest breakfast obsession. Luna’s Deli has officially landed in Coolangatta and honestly? We may never eat a supermarket croissant again (sorry, Coles). With French-trained pastry chefs at the helm and flaky, golden viennoiseries coming in hot, this Euro-chic café is giving pâtisserie goals –minus the 30-hour flight and screaming baby in seat 32B.
Inside this sunny, striped delight of a spot, you’ll find all the essentials: fresh-baked pastries, excellent coffee, and enough buttery goodness to make you question every other life choice. She’s cute, she’s coastal, and she’s here to ruin your “no carbs on weekdays” rule. Sorry, not sorry.
The day kicks off with flaky croissants, homemade focaccia, and possibly a glossy pain au chocolat if you’re feeling fancy (and you are). Add a silky flat white and boom –you’ve peaked before 9am.
Come lunchtime, things get savoury with made-to-order deli-style focaccias and premium toasties that are stacked, stuffed and downright dreamy. Don’t even get us started on the afternoon line-up of travel cakes and small-batch gelato. It’s a sweet tooth’s fever dream and we’re living for it.
But it’s not just pretty pastries and grammable interiors, Luna’s is the real deal. Every treat is made fresh from scratch, no shortcuts, no weird preservatives, and absolutely zero regrets. It’s all crafted with love, using the best local ingredients and a big ol’ dollop of passion.
Speaking of passion: meet the dream team behind Luna’s, Yazmin and Loic. Yazmin is from Buenos Aires with Italian roots, trained in France under actual World Pastry Champions (yes, that’s a thing), and even taught at Le Cordon Bleu. And Loic? He’s a Lyon local who was baking baguettes before sunrise and
cheffing it up in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe. Basically, they’re the Beyoncé and Jay-Z of pastry. Iconic.
And the name? A sweet little nod to the medialuna – Argentina’s answer to the croissant – and a perfect reflection of who Yazmin and Loic are: two pastry lovers chasing their buttery dream, now serving it up with a side of Cooly sea breeze.
Soon, Luna’s will be hosting baking classes (so you can learn how to roll dough like a pro), plus cheeky evening events like pizza parties, empanada nights and low-key wine and vibes. Très bon, indeed.
So go ahead, book that breakfast date, grab your weekend gals, or just rock up solo and fall in love with a laminated pastry. Luna’s Deli is open and ready to make your carb-filled dreams come true.

SUMMER ON THE INSIDE
Summer Elisabeth Luxury Day Spa gets a glow-up.
Spring is the perfect time for a little R&R, but that doesn’t mean you have to be MIA. Summer Elisabeth Luxury Day Spa has just had a glow-up and wants to help you too to shine this season.
Tucked inside the Phoenician Resort in Broadbeach, Summer Elisabeth Luxury Day Spa has been pampering guests for a decade. But in June this year, a fresh chapter began with Ruth Marian Kippax at the helm.
Ruth’s evolution into a respected name in luxury spa and wellness is marked by an extraordinary journey. From supporting refugees as a psychotherapist to leading national programs for new Australians, she’s always been driven by passion and purpose.
Ruth launched her first business in Fiji, and in response to the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, transitioned into a leadership role overseeing the marketing and operations of the luxe Radisson Blu Mirage Resort development on Naisoso Island. Across every chapter, from psychology to luxury hospitality, there’s been a common thread: understanding human needs and crafting experiences that uplift. This latest chapter brings it all together.
Ruth said, “Owning a wellness spa has long been my dream, uniting expertise in human well-being with luxury hospitality.”
Summer Elisabeth Luxury Day Spa carries a distinctly Greek feel thanks to its connection with the Phoenician Resort, but subtle renovations are underway to create a Greekgoddess meets Zen-master vibe.
This spa isn’t just about facials and foot rubs. It’s a sanctuary where women can rest, reconnect and feel truly cared for. Introducing innovative treatments and concepts not commonly seen in Australia, it’s a space where inner beauty meets science and nature. ‘MISO’ OBSESSED WITH YAMAGEN’S NEW MENU! Japanese, but make it haute soy-ciety.
If there’s one thing better than a perfectly plated piece of sashimi, it’s knowing exactly where to find it. We’ve done the hard yards (you’re welcome – it’s a tough job…) and we always land on Yamagen at QT Gold Coast. Sleek, ahead of the game, and effortlessly cool, it’s one of those rare spots that nails the balance between tradition, trend, and awardwinning food without overplaying it. And did we mention it boasts the Japanese whisky menu of your dreams? #BowDown.
Long loved by a devoted GC flock of foodie folk, Yamagen is sleek, moody, and always humming with the quiet confidence of a venue that knows it’s at the top of its game. And with a few shiny new menu additions, it’s giving
locals and visitors alike even more reasons to revisit this fan fave, with a few delicious new surprises.
Steering this finely tuned ship is Executive Chef Adam Lane, whose culinary credentials include a roll call of heavy-hitters like Sake, Sushi E and Tetsuya’s, as well as time spent alongside the legendary Nobu Matsuhisa at Michelin-starred Nobu. He’s a master of technique, a stickler for detail, and has a knack for creating food that will spoil your palette for life when you visit any other Japanese restaurant. His dishes are restrained, beautifully balanced, and full of intent –nothing lands on the plate by accident.
So just what does this extra inventive new menu deliver? Seafood lovers are in for an absolute treat, with the new Thinly Sliced Red Emperor. It’s light, bright, and laced with a house-preserved yuzu that’s been resting patiently for a year. Paired with white soy, chive and arare, it’s fresh, citrusy, and entirely addictive. And if that’s not enough to hook you, there’s the Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi with wakame, karkalua, pink pepper, and a ginger and lime dressing that’ll hit harder than your first teenage heartbreak.
Beyond the ocean, think Dry-Aged Duck Breast with beetroot purée, witlof, sansho and orange – rich, balanced, and pure quacking perfection. There’s also the Charred Shio Koji Chicken Thigh that arrives dressed to impress in asparagus, goma ponzu and sunflower seeds. Chicken, but make it couture.
No visit is complete without paying homage to Yamagen’s iconic signature dish which remains on high rotation: the Thinly Sliced Snapper. Lovingly dressed in truffled tosazu, shio kombu, ume boshi and yuzu sesame, quite frankly it deserves its own national holiday. And because no elevated Japanese experience is complete without something smooth in a short glass, Yamagen also boasts one of the most impressive Japanese whisky collections in the country. Rare, aged, and often hard to find, these pours are best enjoyed slowly – especially when you’re dealing with the likes of a Yamazaki 25-year-old or a Hibiki 30. It’s the kind of list that makes connoisseurs giddy and your tastebuds go full stage five clinger.
Now let’s talk about the vibe and fit out. Polished, but not precious, with cool factor in spades, think glossy enamel black finishes frame eye-catching details. It’s a space where locals and visitors alike come to graze, sip, linger, and repeat. And with an extra night of trade now on offer (hello, six nights a week, plus Friday lunches), there’s really no excuse not to squeeze Yamagen into your weekly calendar.
So, whether you’re chasing high-end date night energy, trying to impress out-of-towners, or just really, really into Japanese food, Yamagen delivers. Every time.

CREATIVITY ON TAP
Mo’s Desert Clubhouse is a cactus-studded culture hub.
If you ever wished you could let loose at a live gig, sip a spiced jalapeno margarita and record a podcast all under one roof, then mosey on down to Mo’s Desert Clubhouse, a Burleigh Heads hotspot where cactus-fuelled creativity comes to life.
Mo’s Desert Clubhouse was inspired by a vision to create a dynamic home for Gold Coast creatives that’s equal parts music venue, event space, and cultural hangout. Since opening its saloon doors in 2017, Mo’s has evolved from a humble warehouse into a
full-blown cultural outpost for all Gold Coast creatives.
If these desert walls could talk, they’d probably ask you to pass the tequila.
Dust off your cowboy boots, we’re about to boot scoot our way through everything Mo’s Desert Clubhouse has to offer.
THE WAREHOUSE VENUE
At the heart of Mo’s is its 250-person warehouse venue, perfect for live music, art shows, DJ sets, weddings, and, yes, your corporate end-of-year shindig. The industrialcool fit-out features desert murals, disco balls, and a top-tier sound system, making it a go-to for everything from big-name bands to team-building events that feel a little less boardroom, a little more bass drop.
Keep an eye out for Mo’s Cheeky Midweeky sessions, think big-name bands rolling through for mid-week dinner, drinks, and a show. Because why should Friday have all the fun?
EL RANCHERO COCKTAIL GARDEN
Before (or after) the show, swing by El Ranchero Cocktail Garden, Mo’s leafy outdoor bar that’s open from midday until midnight.
Whether it’s Friday afternoon knock-offs or Friday night cocktails, this is the spot to gather over dinner, drinks, and desert-inspired sips like spicy watermelon margaritas.
Spanish Girl Food Co. is also on-site, serving up a rotating menu of Mexican and Spanish flavours to keep you fuelled between sets. One destination, everything you need: drinks, eats, and a show.
RECORDING STUDIO AND PODCAST SPACE
Behind the swinging saloon doors (metaphorically speaking) lies the Vodcast Studio fully kitted out for musos, podcasters and content creators ready to record their next hit or hot take. Think studio-quality sound, video capabilities and a whole lotta main character energy.
MOJO JAM REHEARSAL STUDIO
Got a band? Mo’s also offers the Mojo Jam Rehearsal Studio — soundproof, stocked with solid gear, and available to everyone from rising rockstars to your mate’s garage band.
COWORKING AND CREATIVE
SPACES
Forget sterile office vibes. Mo’s offers creative studios and co-working options ideal for freelancers, designers, and musos who want a little more mojo in their Monday. Studio #1 is currently looking for a long-term creative tenant if you’re on the hunt for a new HQ.
WORKSHOPS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS
Live music might be Mo’s headline act, but its community calendar brings all the extras, from sip ’n’ paint nights and tattoo flash days to vintage markets and sound healing sessions. Expect an eclectic, free-spirited energy — creative, colourful, and a little left of centre.
Oh, and if you needed any more reason to check it out: Mo’s was recently crowned Best Birthday Party Venue on the Gold Coast at the Quality Business Awards, and they’re now officially in the Hall of Fame for Best Live Music Venue at the Gold Coast Music Awards, three years running. Not bad for a little warehouse that could.
Check out Mo’s Desert Clubhouse website for up-to-date opening hours, event times, and all the latest happenings.

GLOW UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE
Mudjira Village Eatery celebrates 10 years of toasties, tradition and top-tier coffee.
If you’ve spent even five minutes in Mudgeeraba over the past decade, there’s a high chance you’ve already crossed paths with Mudjira Village Eatery. Maybe it was love at first latte. Maybe it was the double cheese toastie that sealed the deal. Either way, this local fave has been dishing out warm brews and warmer vibes since 2015, and now, it’s looking fresher than ever thanks to a brandnew glow-up.
The recent refit brings all the charm you know and love, just with a little more polish. Think British Colonial touches, warm textures
and a leafy garden courtyard that basically begs you to stay for “just one more coffee”. It’s modern, yes, but still unmistakably Mudgeeraba, cosy, down-to-earth and quietly cool.
But let’s get one thing straight: Mudjira’s magic has never just been about the fit-out. It’s the people, the consistency, the kind of place where your barista knows your name and your coffee order (even if you don’t quite know it yourself before 8am).
It’s the kind of café where your dog gets more attention than you do, and honestly, that’s the way it should be.
Kate and Graham Bennett opened Mudjira with a clear vision: create the kind of neighbourhood spot they wished existed. With years of hospitality experience and a whole lot of heart, they rolled up their sleeves and made it happen. No shortcuts, no fuss, just great food, real coffee and a whole lot of community spirit.
And that spirit? It’s in everything.
The name “Mudjira” itself was gifted to the couple by Uncle Graham Dillon, it’s the traditional Yugambeh name for the area, and a
beautiful reminder of the café’s connection to Country and community. You feel it the moment you walk in.
As for the menu, it’s anything but basic. You’ll find everything from fluffy lamington pancakes to a Korean Poke Bowl that’s basically a party in a bowl. The smashed double cheese burger toastie is pure comfort food glory, while the Maximillian Bircher is a lighter option that still goes big on flavour. The real kicker? Nearly everything is made from scratch, including the condiments. Yes, really.
Mudjira has never tried to be trendy, but somehow, it’s always ahead of the curve. Maybe that’s the secret. While other cafés come and go with the seasons, Mudjira just keeps doing its thing, serving quality food and drinks with care, consistency and heart.
So if you’re after a café that feels like a big warm hug, where the coffee’s always good and the people are even better, Mudgeeraba’s OG is still your best bet. Glowed up, but still as grounded as ever.

YOUR WEEKEND GUIDE TO MURWILLUMBAH
Murwillumbah’s having a main character moment, and you’re invited.
Once known as The Tweed’s quieter corner, Murwillumbah is officially worth adding to your getaway list. This arty-meetsfoodie town blends leafy streets with local legends, creative charm and plenty to eat, sip and snap. If your ideal day involves toptier coffee, vintage shopping, murals and a side of handmade pasta, clear your calendar.
First up: caffeine. The Modern Grocer is where Murwillumbah gets its morning mojo. The coffee? Silky smooth. The croissants? Buttery, flaky perfection. Honestly, pack a tote, you’re going to want a few extra pastries “for later.” No judgement.
Once you’re fuelled, it’s shopping o’clock. Bolt & Buckle is where form meets function,
stocking leather goods and outdoor gear that’ll outlive your last three phone chargers.
Prefer to browse with a latte in hand? Hit up The Foundry for homewares, handpicked books and gifts that actually feel thoughtful. Or get lost (in a good way) in Bowerbird Emporium: vintage vibes, rare finds and plenty of “I definitely need this” moments.
Now: culture hour. Murwillumbah’s not just a pretty face, it’s got stories.
Stop in at the Tweed Regional Museum to see the latest exhibition. Speak Easy, running until 22nd November explores the breakthroughs that changed how we connect, from secret messages to social networks. History buffs, this one’s for you.
And if you like your museum visits with a side of street vibes, save the date: the Museum’s Street Party is back on Saturday, 6th September. Think live music, food, fun for the whole crew, and it’s all free.
Last year’s event drew over 6,000 people, so expect a buzzing afternoon that celebrates everything Murwillumbah and The Tweed have to offer.
Feeling fancy? The Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre is nonnegotiable. It’s home to jaw-dropping visual stories, including Margaret Olley’s home studio re-creation, a peek inside the life and mind of one of Australia’s most-loved artists.
Quietly stealing the show: the gallery deck’s sweeping valley views. Definitely worth a pause (and a photo).
Speaking of photo ops, Murwillumbah’s laneways are basically an open-air gallery. From Kyle Slabb’s Guwang Djagaibin to Bec Denholm’s Window to the Wild, the murals here are bright, bold and seriously scrollstopping. Explore Murwillumbah’s new public art pieces and wander into wonder.
Now let’s talk carbs. Pasta’bah is basically your pantry’s new best friend. Handmade pasta. Olive oil. Cheese that deserves its own fan club. Whether you’re stocking up for later or grabbing a bite right now, this Italian deli’s got you covered.
Ready for the main event? Tweed River House is where things get luxe. Housed in a beautifully restored home with next-level views of Wollumbin Mount Warning, it’s fine dining with local flair. Go all out in the restaurant, keep it cool in the Palm Lounge, or sip and
snack at the Lawn Bar. Every corner feels just a little bit special.
If you’re keen to explore beyond the main streets, hire a comfy fat-tyre e-bike from Valley E-Bikes and cruise the 24km Tweed section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. It’s all rolling green views, fresh country air, and plenty of scenic stops along the way.
And since one day in Murwillumbah definitely isn’t enough, settle in for the weekend with a stay at Glenelg
Murwillumbah
This boutique spot blends heritage charm with modern comfort, complete with stylish rooms and leafy surrounds – all within walking distance of the town’s best bites and shops.
Ready to plan your own Murwillumbah moment? From riverside dining to laneway art and vintage finds, there’s plenty more to uncover. Head to VisitTheTweed.com.au to start planning. Words by
7 PLACES TO INDULGE YOUR SWEET TOOTH AT PAC FAIR
Swipe right on these delicious treats!
If retail therapy is your cardio, then a trip to Pacific Fair simply must include some sort of edible reward to fuel you up for a day of dazzling designer deals. Lucky for us, our favourite GC shopping haunt is choc-a-block (pun intended) with drool-worthy sweet treats.
BROOKI BAKEHOUSE
First up, the TikTok-famous Brooke Bellamy’s Brooki Bakehouse has finally dropped into Pac Fair, and yep – the cookies are just as chunky and gooey as they look online. Baked in Brisbane, delivered daily, and devoured in minutes, think NYC-style cookies, cupcakes, brownies and other utterly irresistible buttery bites. For us, it’s all about the Red Velvet Cookie.
YOMG (YO MY GOODNESS)
Next, it’s time to swirl into YOMG (Yo My Goodness) for a self-serve froyo fantasy – we’re talking handcrafted, creamy, artisan soft serve made with real milk, proper yoghurt, and unique flavour combos that will make even the most discerning sweet tooth drool. Their current showstopper? The Biscoff Ripple with Oreo – a vegan-friendly swirl of caramelised biscuit glory and don’t forget to go your hardest at the toppings bar (no judgement).
JOE’S DELI
Joe’s Deli might look like it specialises in sandwiches (which it does – and they’re the business), but behind the pastrami lies a cheesecake that’ll send your chats into a chokehold. The Two-Tone Hollywood Cheesecake is decadence 101, drizzled in Nutella and topped with brûléed marshmallow
GELATISSIMO
If you prefer your treats with a side of European flair, Gelatissimo is your go-to. These gelato geniuses churn out scrumptious smallbatch scoops using traditional techniques and not-so-traditional combos. Mango Tango? Brownie Explosion? Dubai Chocolate? Yes,
yes, and absolutely yes. Bonus points for their vegan and dairy-free options, because everyone deserves a scoop of the good stuff.
OAKBERRY
Feel like being a little bit healthy while still smashing dessert? Oakberry has you covered. These açaí bowls are antioxidantrich, fibre-filled, and topped to high heaven with whatever your sweet little heart (or tooth) desires. Perhaps fresh fruit, chia pudding, coconut, or our fave, vegan granola PS, did we mention said toppings are unlimited (yes, really), so make this all-you-can-eat buffet of wellness a must next time you’re shopping.
CHOCO DRIP
Want to tuck into the chocolate strawberry cup that broke the internet harder than Kimmy K and ‘very mindful, very demure’ combined? Then you need to experience Choco Drip’s chocolate-covered fruit cups almost too pretty to eat (almost). Think glossy strawberries, premium chocolate, crunchy kataifi and Middle Eastern flair with names like Dubai Pistachio Knafeh. It’s luxury in a cup.
BLESSED BOWLS
Last but certainly not least, you simply can’t miss the açaí OGs turned dessert icons at Blessed Bowls. The new range is as bold as it is bougee, with their Blessed Dubai Knafeh Cup stealing the show. Think strawberries, Pistachio Papi, milk chocolate, chopped pistachios their signature knafeh crunch instead? Have a go of the Strawberry Fondue Cups come with your choice of white or milk choc, plus brownie bites and knafeh crunch extras. Amen!
So, consider this your official permission slip to skip lunch, shop hard, and dessert harder at Pac Fair. What are you waiting for? Make like a cookie and crumble!

CHOP IT LIKE IT’S HOT: PRIVATE OMAKASE HAS ARRIVED
Inaho Omakase brings Tokyo-level Japanese dining to your kitchen.
Why go out when the chef can come to you? No parking battles, no dress code (unless your dressing gown counts), and absolutely zero chance of ending the night Googling “what is ankimo?” (it’s monkfish liver, and it’s a delicacy).
Enter Inaho Omakase, a jaw-dropping, showstopping, 16–8 course omakase experience that happens right in your kitchen. At the helm is Chef Ayato: a world-travelled Japanese chef who’s turning Gold Coast homes into private Tokyo-style dining rooms, one perfectly seared slice of wagyu at a time.
Here’s the vibe. You round up your chosen crew – mates, family, hot date, or hey, just
you and your cat – and Chef Ayato turns your home into a seriously slick sushi spot. He brings everything: ingredients, knives, magic. You just supply the space, a stovetop, a sink, and an appetite.
Suddenly, your kitchen becomes a theatre of flames, precision and flavour. There’s slicing, sizzling, plating, and plenty of “OMG, what is this and why does it taste so good?” vibes. Think buttery toro, sweet tamago, delicately dressed sashimi, and secret seasonal dishes that change depending on the freshest finds.
And here’s the kicker – you didn’t even lift a finger (except to pour the sake).
This isn’t just a fancy dinner party. It’s immersive, intimate and completely unforgettable. Chef Ayato blends tradition and technique with a pinch of personal flair, curating dishes that honour Japanese heritage without the Western shortcuts. Just pure, unfiltered Japanese, artfully plated and served up with charm.
A bar dining setup is ideal if you want a front-row seat to the action, but if your vibe is more “backyard picnic meets fine dining,” that
works, too. Whether you’re going full zen or full bougie, this is Japanese dining your way.
Want to keep things low-key? Inaho also offers premium sushi and sashimi boxes for delivery, perfect for date nights, celebrations or treating yourself ‘just because’. It’s the same quality, minus the live-action slicing.
Chef Ayato has worked in top kitchens across the globe and knows how exhausting (and expensive) chasing fine dining can be. So instead of flying to Tokyo, let Tokyo come to you – complete with culinary fireworks and no jet lag.
From birthdays to anniversaries, cheeky Thursdays to “I just felt like it” Fridays, this is the kind of dining experience that’ll have your friends talking for weeks.
So, grab your chopsticks. Slip into something stretchy. And get ready to experience omakase like never before – where the hottest seat in town is your own dining chair.
BYO wine, BYO vibes – they’ll handle the rest.

GLOW WITH THE FLOW
Coastal Cosmetic Clinic is changing the face of beauty on the Gold Coast.
Let’s face it: aesthetic medicine has copped its fair share of side-eye over the years, but times are changing as celebs are coming clean to fans about their surgeons and favourite treatments. These days, it’s less about looking done and more about looking like you on your best day, every day. And right here on the Gold Coast, Coastal Cosmetic Clinic is leading that fresh-faced revolution.
Thinking about dipping your toes into the world of aesthetic treatments but feeling a little nervous? You’re not alone, and you’re definitely in good hands at Coastal Cosmetic Clinic. Nestled in the dreamy Bodii Lane beauty precinct in Bundall, this hidden gem is where locals go for that fresh, well-rested glow (no explanations needed).
The best part? The team here feel more like your newest besties than clinicians. Their clients often say it feels more like a catch-up than an appointment – 20 minutes of laughs and life chats, and maybe five minutes for the treatment. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, you’ll leave feeling like your most confident self – minus the drama.
At the heart of it all is Brittany Dolan, a
Registered Nurse and a boss babe who took a $70K leap of faith to build her dream. Spoiler alert: it paid off.
Brittany started young. Like, 19-and-inoperating-theatres young. After diving straight into her nursing career post-high school, she specialised in orthopaedic surgery while slowly building a business on the side.
Fast forward nine years, and Coastal Cosmetic Clinic is now home to three powerhouse injectors, five treatment rooms and over 200 happy clients each month.
The aesthetic industry has often been misunderstood, and, let’s be real, a little judged. Brittany and her team are smoothing out more than just wrinkles though, and are redefining what beauty means in a world that’s finally embracing natural enhancements. You won’t find fake promises here, just honest conversations, treatment plans that work with you, and results so natural, even loved ones are none the wiser.
“I have clients who have been coming to me for over six years and their husbands still don’t know they have work done.” said Brittany. With glowing reviews, the proof is in the
plump (in the most subtle, sculpted way, of course). What sets this team apart is they care about you. And they’ll politely decline a treatment if it doesn’t align with their values because not every frown line needs freezing, and sometimes the best glow-up comes from saying no.
As the aesthetic landscape shifts, Coastal Cosmetic Clinic is ready for the next chapter, evolving with the industry and carving out a niche with its less-is-more mantra and no-BS approach. Nestled inside the collaborative hub of Bodii Lane, Coastal Cosmetic Clinic is surrounded by ample parking and like-minded businesses including a skin therapist, brow artist and HIFU specialist, which makes it feel like a beauty bestie hangout.
From a single monthly client to a 60-hour-aweek with three Registered Nurses on the team, Brittany’s journey is a reminder that success doesn’t have to shout. Sometimes, it’s soft, thoughtful and quietly powerful. Just like the work they do.

SIPS AND SMILES
Oasis & Co. brews up the Gold Coast’s brightest grins.
If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that caffeine and confidence make a perfect blend. So when a dentist opens a café, it’s only natural that the result is toothtally brilliant.
Nestled under Oasis Dental in Broadbeach is Oasis & Co., the brainchild of Dr. Andrew Firgaira and café queen Gabby Loprete. While Andrew’s expertise is more molars than macchiatos, he knows a good cup when he tastes one, and with Gabby at the helm, this place isn’t just filling cavities, it’s filling your cup.
Opened in 2022 with little more than a grinder and a morning crowd of dental staff, Oasis & Co. has become a top contender
in the café scene. In fact, they flossed the competition in 2024 to be crowned Best Café on the Gold Coast in The Coffee Commune Best Café Awards.
It’s a title that still makes Gabby smile wider than a patient post-root canal.
“For such a small cafe, we are completely exceeding anyone’s expectations, including my own!”
Oasis & Co. opens its doors at a blearyeyed 5am, a filling station for tradies, early birds and anyone else who thinks a double shot is the only way to start the day. Gabby noticed a gap (in the market, not someone’s teeth) and filled it fast.
“The other cafés weren’t open till 6am. But I had customers lining up at 5:15am. That’s when the magic happens!”
The vibe? Think modern minimalist: black, white and grey tones that make it feel clean, calm and, yes, very easy to change up the theme for seasonal celebrations.
There’s limited outdoor seating, intentionally. With the beach, park and shopping precinct just a hop, skip and a jump away, grab-and-go is the go-to.
Industry Beans Coffee is consistently on point, and so is the food with killer toasties and a rotating menu including gluten free and vegan options.
Fan faves include the chicken pesto sundried tomato toasties that are crispy, oozy and packed with flavour.
Loaded acai is sunshine in a cup topped with peanut butter, muesli and glistening fruit
The smoothies are just as legendary, whipped up with fresh fruit, custom add-ins and your choice of protein for a post-surf, post-gym or post-dentist pick-me-up.
But it’s the little things that make customers come back for more. Remembering names. Knowing orders. Making someone feel seen. That’s the real buzz.
One customer recently told Gabby, “You’re not just making my coffee, you’re making my day”. And you can’t bottle that kind of energy. You can only brew it. Fast, fresh and with a big dose of heart.
So if you’re in the Broadbeach area and craving a cup that delivers with no pain and all the gain, consider this your sign. At Oasis & Co., the daily grind just got a whole lot smoother. And hey, in need for a check-up? Your dentist is just upstairs.

TIME TO SHINE
Soul Grit Photography is more than a shoot, it’s a soul-led activation.
They say that a picture is worth 1000 words, but in a world where millions of snaps hit socials daily, how do you make yours stand out? Soul Grit Photography is here to level-up your personal brand by lifting you up to your highest potential.
Lisa Brzezinski, founder of Soul Grit Photography, is a woman on a mission, and it’s one with a whole lot of heart.
“I picked up a camera in 2021 and realised something powerful: when women connect to their why and call in their higher self, the transformation in front of the lens is undeniable.”
As a mum, marathon runner and spiritual creative, Lisa knows a thing or two about juggling ambition with authenticity. She brings that lived experience to every shoot, creating space for women to show up exactly as they are (messy buns, big dreams and all).
From founders and freelancers to athletes and artists, Lisa has photographed hundreds of women across the Gold Coast, bringing a unique blend of intuition, brand strategy and photography skills to each shoot.
But at Soul Grit Photography, it’s not just about snapping a pretty pic, it’s about capturing the magic of who you really are. Each session goes beyond the surface, weaving in intuitive rituals like tarot, intention setting and deep chats before you even step in front of the lens. These readings often bring clarity, validation and next-step energy, and when you carry that into your shoot, it shows.
From sage cleansing to goal setting, Lisa guides women to embody the future version of themselves and brings that energy to life through soulful, strategic branding portraits. The result? Photos that don’t just look good, they feel like you.
Whether you’re vibing with natural light outdoors or a styled lifestyle space, Lisa brings the studio to you with her mobile setup and flexible approach. From in-home shoots to dreamy Gold Coast locations, each session is designed to match your unique energy and vision.
A little nervous to step into the spotlight? We feel you. Lisa’s signature event, Snaps & Champs, returns this August to Flavr Studios in Southport, and it’s the ultimate invitation to show up, stand tall and say “cheese” with purpose.
Snaps & Champs is part branding shoot, part spiritual activation, part girl boss celebration. Over three feel-good hours, you’ll connect with a crew of like-minded women over bubbles, bites, business chats and big laughs, while Lisa sets the tone with intention, support and serious main character energy.
Between your individual photo sessions, you’ll soak up the magic of genuine connection and walk away not just with stunning, scroll-stopping shots, but a fresh network of powerhouse women who are all rising and thriving.
Whether you’re launching something big or simply craving a moment of reconnection, Soul Grit Photography invites you to step into the best version of you. Now that is worth more than 1000 words.

A FLAVOUR-PACKED FEAST IN THE HEART OF BROADBEACH
The Oasis has something for every appetite.
Let’s set the scene. You’re in Broadbeach. You’re hungry. You want options. You don’t want to fight for a park, scroll endlessly for somewhere half-decent, or end up with a sad wrap you didn’t even want. What you do want is a vibe. A great coffee. Maybe cocktails. Maybe dumplings. Maybe both.
You want The Oasis.
If you haven’t eaten your way through this place yet, consider this your official invitation. The Oasis is serving food, fun and flavour from morning to night, and it’s making a serious case for becoming your new regular.
It’s relaxed but polished. Casual but considered. With open-air dining, three
hours of free undercover parking (bless), and a seriously diverse mix of eats, it’s got your breakfast, lunch and dinner covered, plus snacks, sweets and everything in between.
Let’s talk highlights:
For yum cha sessions done right, head to Grand Dynasty. After something fresh and fast? Roll’d has you covered with Vietnamese bites that hit the spot every time.
If sushi’s calling your name, Bento Sushi is ready and waiting. And if it’s pizza and pasta you’re after, Mario’s Italian has been serving locals since 1989 with all the seafood, steak, pasta and vino you could ever want, it’s basically a GC institution.
Speaking of Italian, Luna’s Broadbeach is perfect for carby, cheesy catch-ups, blending Aussie and Italian flavours with a side of Broadbeach buzz.
Craving dumplings with a little extra atmosphere? Harajuku Gyoza delivers handmade gyoza with a modern twist, frosty beers on tap and a side of good times. Prefer European coastal vibes? Sofia’s Restaurant & Bar keeps it simple and delicious with a menu full of Mediterranean favourites.
Sweet tooth calling?
Madison’s Café & Patisserie drool worthy range of cakes and pastries is sure to satisfy, or grab some chocolate covered strawberries from Acai Point and call it self-care.
Brunch more your thing? Elk Espresso endlessly aesthetic seasonal menu delivers in spades, while O Bagel’s fluffy stuffed bagels will impress even the fussiest food friend. After something moody with a side of bourbon? The Loose Moose is your spot.
YOU’RE SPOILT FOR CHOICE AT THE OASIS
The best part? It’s just easy. Whether you’ve come straight from the gym, the beach or your couch, The Oasis is the reliable friend who always knows where to eat, even when you have no idea what you feel like.
So next time someone asks, “Where should we eat?” – skip the debate and say it straight. The Oasis.

THE SEASON OF YES
Robina Pavilion’s epic end-of-year lineup.
Look, we’re not saying Robina Pavilion is the official headquarters of fun on the Gold Coast… but we’re also not not saying that. When it comes to throwing events, these legends don’t mess around. They’re the kind of parties that magically convince even your most “I’ll just pop in for one” mates to stay out until closing. And with the silly season just around the corner, Robina Pav is already leading the charge with a festive calendar that’s serving food, fun and full-blown fabulousness. Let’s be real, if there’s ever a time to get your sparkle on, it’s now.
Melbourne Cup – Tuesday 4 Nov
Giddy up, glam squad. Robina Pav is giving race day a serious glow-up, and this year it’s more than fascinators and fizz, it’s a whole moment. Forget the boring basics and saddle up for a luxe, three-hour beverage package from 12pm-3pm (yes, please). Think wine, beer, tap RTD’S, bubbles and a cheeky spritz on arrival to kick things off in style.
Food-wise? It’s a moving feast of hot and cold canapés, designed for elegant grazing between photo booth poses and race calls. And if you’re the kind of person who skips mains to save room for dessert (same), you’ll be all over the decadent dessert station.
Want more reasons to book? There’s a sweeps station, whole table bookings, and did we mention the vibes? It’s $155 pp + booking fee, and it’s shaping up to be the most fabulous Tuesday of the year.
Christmas Day Lunch – Thursday 25 Dec
If the thought of peeling potatoes, wrangling relatives and trying not to burn the ham sends you straight into panic mode, good news: Robina Pav has Christmas completely sorted. This year, they’re dishing up a dreamy
seafood buffet lunch that’s basically summer on a plate, with a side of festive magic. We’re talking freshly harvested Pacific oysters, wild king prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, and smoked salmon rosettes with dill crème fraiche
And that’s just the entrée. The hot buffet brings the heat with maple baked ham, slowroasted mustard beef sirloin, herb-roasted chicken Marylands, baked salmon with lemon, dill and hollandaise, plus a spread of garlic and rosemary roasted root veg, steamed greens and all the Christmas classics your heart (and stomach) desires.
Salads are also making an appearance, think potato and artichoke with house dressing, baby gem and parmesan with green goddess and a vinaigrette.
But wait, it gets better. The dessert station is quite literally the stuff of festive dreams. Belgian chocolate fountain? Check. Pannacotta, trifles, mousse, macarons and classic Christmas pudding with lashings of custard? All there. Pricing is family-friendly and tiered: adults $195, teens $145 (13-17yrs), kids $90 (4-12yrs), and little elves under three eat free. Drinks aren’t included, but the bar will be shaking, stirring and pouring all your holiday favourites. There are two sittings – 11am to 1pm or 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
Whether you’re raising a glass at the races or trading roast duty for seafood and bubbles, Robina Pavilion is making sure your festive season is done right, no stress, no mess, just good food, good company and unforgettable vibes. But don’t leave it too late! Bookings are essential.

SCOOP, THERE IT IS
Toucan Tango lands in Nobby Beach.
Grab your sunnies, your besties and maybe a bib, because Toucan Tango has officially landed in Nobby Beach and things are about to get messy (in the tastiest way possible).
Hailing from South Australia where it’s already a bit of a big deal, this dessert bar has now flung open its very first Queensland doors, and spoiler: we’re obsessed.
We’re talking acai bowls the size of your head, frozen custard that’ll have you questioning your life choices (in a good way), and coffee so good your regular barista might file for abandonment. If that sounds like your kind of vibe, congrats. You’ve found your spiritual dessert home.
Let’s set the scene: neon signs, pink flamingo vibes, touchably textured walls and the unmistakable scent of vanilla custard wafting through the air. If you didn’t have cravings before, you do now.
The place is playful, punchy, and perfectly situated just off the Gold Coast Highway, occupying the former Sparrow Coffee space.
It’s giving funky milk bar with a Brazilianacai twist. And yes, you will want to take a photo of every single item you order. This place is Instagram heaven with a cherry on top (literally, if you’re getting the fro-custard sundae).
Now. The food. (Deep breath.)
The acai bowls? Stacked high like edible art installations. We’re talking Nutella drizzles, fat strawberries, granola crunch, peanut butter blobs, and frozen fruit that tastes like health but in a really sexy way.
The fro-custard? Rude. In the best way. Rich, silky, and smoother than your ex’s apology text. You can get it vanilla, chocolate or twist-style with next-level toppings like Oreo Crumble, Dubai Kataifi, Nutella, and Dreams (Actual dreams. You’ll see.)
And if that wasn’t enough, Toucan Tango has joined forces with Blackboard Coffee, so your daily caffeine hit is also sorted. Order it straight, or get a little freaky with the Dirty Toucan, espresso poured over frozen custard It’s unhinged. We love it.
Feeling extra? There are waffles Loaded sundaes Acai smoothies Donut fries that slaps harder than your 3pm sugar craving. Basically, it’s the dessert equivalent of Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, loud, proud, and flawless.
Whether you’re rolling in with sandy feet, chasing a dopamine hit on your lunch break, or just here for the ‘Gram, Toucan Tango is the glow-up your sweet tooth’s been waiting for.
Everything is made fresh, so while you wait (like four mins, chill), soak in the tropical fit-out, prep your Instagram caption, and try to avoid getting Nutella in your fringe. Or don’t. No judgement.

GOLD COAST’S MOST UNEXPECTED NIGHT OUT
Fox in a Box is not your average escape room
So, you’ve surfed every beach, barhopped your way through Broadbeach, and said “we should do this more often” over one too many share plates. If you’re officially out of ideas for your next group hang, it’s time to throw the ultimate curveball. Enter: Fox in a Box.
Tucked in the heart of Surfers Paradise, this is where your games night grows up. Think less Monopoly meltdown, more “we just escaped a zombie apocalypse with three seconds to spare” energy. With eight next-level rooms (some of the biggest in the country, thank you very much), Fox in a Box delivers pure chaos in the best way – puzzles,
plot twists and a whole lot of “wait, what just happened?”
These aren’t your average escape rooms. They’re cinematic, wildly immersive, and honestly feel more like stepping into a Netflix thriller than a group activity. Whether you’re busting out of prison, shutting down a rogue nuclear facility, or running from the undead, the rooms are built for maximum suspense and adrenaline – no theatre degree required.
And don’t stress if your group is more ‘vibe’ than ‘brainiac’. Each crew gets their very own Game Master, aka your behind-thescenes hero who’s watching everything via camera and mic. They’ll step in with a clue if you’re spiralling and can’t figure out how to open the literal first door. Zero judgement. Just top-tier support.
Now, let’s talk social plans. Fox in a Box is a serious power move for birthdays, hens, bucks or your “we need to do something different” friendship group. The venue’s got space for up to 66 guests, plush couches, bar tables, a legit in-house bar, and a chilled-out vibe that makes it feel more like a cool lounge than a waiting room. Add on
catering (yes to fruit platters, vegan bites and post-escape drink tabs) and suddenly you’re the event planning MVP.
It’s also one of the rare Gold Coast activities that slaps no matter the weather. Rainy day? Nailed. School holiday survival tactic? Sorted. Awkward date where you need a built-in conversation starter? We got you. The rooms are suitable for ages eight and up, so families are welcome too – and don’t worry, the zombies stay in their lane.
And in case you need a little more local love to tip you over the edge, the story behind Fox in a Box is just as epic. Co-owners Andy Stribling and Colin Webster built the Gold Coast venue during the peak of the pandemic, putting in seven-day weeks to bring their dream to life. They’re also the brains behind 15 Boost Juice stores, so safe to say they know a thing or two about good vibes and even better customer service.
From the slick interiors to the bar-side board games, every inch of the space was designed for locals and holidaymakers who want a five-star escape... from the usual.
So, next time someone hits the group chat with “what are we doing tonight?”, drop this: Fox in a Box.
Clever puzzles. Cold drinks. Chaotic energy. Because honestly – have you even lived on the GC if you haven’t broken out of prison in Surfers?

SEA YOU AT SOUL
Your go-to guide to dining and unwinding at Soul Boardwalk.
As the Gold Coast shakes off the chill and welcomes warmer days, Soul Boardwalk in Surfers Paradise is turning up the heat in the tastiest way possible.
Perched just steps from the sand, this beachfront haven is the ultimate spot to soak up the sunshine, sip something refreshing, and savour good food with a sea breeze.
From sunrise to sunset, Soul Boardwalk at the top of Cavill Mall delivers all-day vibes with a backdrop of the iconic Surfers Paradise beach that’s hard to beat.
Let’s start sunny side up with coffee in hand from ESPL, a local favourite for its beachside brews and laid-back energy.
Hunger hitting hard? Head to Surfers Paradise Beach Café, where the breakfast classics like Belgian Waffles and Eggs Benedict come with million-dollar ocean views and an easygoing atmosphere.
As lunchtime rolls around, so do the flavours. Alma brings a fiesta to the table with bold Mexican eats and cocktails made for savouring. From Chilli Margs and Jalapeno Poppers to Soft Shell Crab, a delicious range of tasty tacos, there’s something for every taste.
Vapiano dishes up crowd-pleasing Italian, think hearty bolognese served with fresh spaghetti tossed to order and hand-stretched pizzas you’ll want to share (or maybe not).
Craving something more refined?
Take things up a notch at Seascape Restaurant & Bar. With its panoramic views and ocean-inspired menu, it’s the place to linger over seafood platters piled high with oysters, prawns, Moreton Bay bugs and Harvey Bay scallops.
Need we say more?
For those who enjoy a side of theatrics with their meal, Brazilian Flame brings the sizzle. With succulent slow-roasted meats carved tableside and service in true South American style, it’s a dining experience that makes an impression. Their all-you-can-eat offering features a range of sizzling flavours, perfect for satisfying every craving.
Nostalgia hits at Hog’s Breath Café serving up steaks, curly fries and retro charm in spades, and if you’re after a quick bite between swims, Subway or KFC will have you sorted fast.
Fishbowl is the go-to for beach goers craving hearty and healthy takeaway. The Japanese-inspired bowls are brimming with flavour, perfect to tuck into on your beach towel.
And just in time for the sunny season, Hurricane’s Grill & Bar is making its return. After a fresh new refurb, the iconic venue reopens in late August, bringing back those legendary flame-grilled ribs and oceanfront energy in a slick new look.
Sweet tooth calling? Us too.
Cool off with handcrafted gelato from Minus 18 Degrees or build your dream froyo creation at Yo-Chi, complete with all the toppings your heart desires.
Whether you’re wandering up from the waves, indulging in a long lunch or meeting mates for sundowners, Soul Boardwalk is the beachfront dining destination that dishes up sunshine on a plate, every day of the week.

HOW TO STYLE CARGO PANTS
More pockets, more possibilities.
When it comes to the many-pocketed cargo pants, the glow up these 90’s babies have received is both surprising and refreshing. The gender-neutral appeal is trendy, yet timeless, and can be dressed up or down depending on the look you’re going for.
We’re now seeing cargo pieces that branch out from the traditional khaki and camouflage colour way, (although still popular), to include denim, whites, bolds and metallics. But some would say the biggest change in the way we are styling cargo pants is that the accompanying pieces are no long limited to band tees, hoodies and sneakers.
Masculine by nature and a certain air of coolness, cargo pants are now being styled with fitted and feminine pieces which makes for exciting contrast and intentional clashing. However, the trick is to find the right companion pieces to create a balanced look that flatters you and your personal style.
Here are our five favourite cargo pant outfit ideas, no matter the occasion.
Y2K
Characterised by bold, experimental, and often playful styles; this 90’s-00’s trend revival is majorly driven by crop tops, sunglasses and handbags.
This street wear style is comfortable and laid-back with more oversized silhouettes. Incorporating on-trend pieces, a balanced look is achieved by playing with colours, proportions and accessories.
A more modern take on cargo pant styling is to elevate them with heels and jewellery, and to accompany them with softer and contrasting feminine fabrics.
Beginning Boutique Satin Sapphire Black Cargo Pants $54
SPORTY SPICE
A focus on athletic wear with a 90’s twist, this sporty look incorporates pieces you can freely move in and layer comfortably. Sneakers, sweats and caps accompany the cargo pants modestly.
PE Nation Award Pant $99.50, Captivate Bomber In Gunmetal $319 (R), Ssaint Cap $59
MILITARY INSPIRED
Clothing of a practical concept, heavy line-cut, and mostly a colour scope of greens, browns, and khaki. Think combat boots, jackets and belts.
