The medical device market in the USA and the Healthcare Reform

The average disposable income of US citizens is about $35,000. A leading exporting economy, the USA have established Free Trade Agreements with 17 partner countries with a combined GDP of over $5.1 trillion. The US market for medical devices was estimated at about $94.9 billion in 2010, making it the largest medical market in the world. According to the US Department of Health & Human services, average per capita health spending was $8,086 in 2009, totaling $2.5 trillion and accounting for 17.6% of GDP.
