Emirates & United Sign New Deal To Boost Market Presence
Emirates and United Airlines have done a historic collaboration that will increase their network and allow customers to travel easily to various other destinations within the United States and across the globe.
What Is The Deal?
From November, customers of Emirates who are traveling to Chicago, Huston, and San Francisco can easily fly on a single ticket with United Airlines flights as their connecting flights to and from almost 200 cities across the Americas. Both the airline companies will have an interline understanding in place at the other eight U.S. airports – Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York-JFK, Miami, Seattle, Orlando, and Washington D.C., where Emirates provides its services.
United will soon run a new direct flight between Newark and Dubai going to be introduced in March 2023. Customers will be able to travel by Emirates or its sister airline Flydubai to 100+ cities, from there. The tickets for the new Dubai flight of United Airlines are on sale now.
Benefits Of The Agreement
Customers of the two airlines can soon reserve these connecting flights on one single ticket, allowing the check-in and luggage transfer process much faster and easier. For example, travelers will be able to book a flight from New York/Newark to Karachi, Pakistan via United.com or the United app, or they will be able to reserve a flight ticket from Dubai to Atlanta or Honolulu through Emirates.com.
The agreement between Emirates and United airlines will expand the rewards options for their loyalty program members. United's Mileage Plus members traveling on the New York/Newark to Dubai flight can now earn and redeem miles while connecting on Emirates and Flydubai flights. Similarly, Emirates Skywards members will soon be able to earn miles on United-operated flights.
In the coming weeks, information regarding the benefits of lounge sharing and frequent flyer awards will be communicated, allowing eligible customers on codeshare flights to access Emirates and United lounges.
