A BRIEF HISTORY
In 1998 Mcplaf was set up in the hands of Israel Macià, with the aim of supporting young climbers in evolving and promoting them in the climbing world. Years later, in 2015 Indoorwall Climbing Gyms was founded in Catalonia, a brand that specializes in setting up and managing climbing and children’s leisure centers. Thanks to the experience, knowledge and effort of its founders and their team, the brand has built 17 centers in Spain in 7 years. It is currently one of the Top clubs in Europe, with 12 centers of its own.

United States: The number of indoor climbers has grown from 4.45 million users in 2011 to 5.54 million in 2020. In 2016 there were 400 commercial climbing walls operating in the country, increasing to 478 in 2019.
United Kingdom: In 1988 there were 40 climbing walls, rising to over 350 by 2014.
Spain: Currently has 200 climbing walls, 25% more than the number counted in 2018.
France: In the city of Paris alone there are more than 350 climbing walls (many of them very small).
Germany: There are currently 500 climbing walls, with a high potential for growth given the population of 83M people.

The Spanish Mountaineering and Climbing Federation has more than 248,000 federative license holders (2020 data) and is among the top 5 federations with more licenses in Spain.

Austria: In six years, the number of climbing has tripled.

Israel Macià
With over 35 years dedicated to the world of climbing, sport, competitions, construction and management of climbing walls and their management. In 2015 he founded, together with Berta Martín, the Indoorwall group, of which he is the current president. He has been a firefighter for over 25 years and has turned his great passion into a project that is revolutionizing that is revolutionizing climbing and competitions.
Berta Martin
She is the co-founder of the Indoorwall group. She has spent her whole life dedicated to climbing, in the section of the competition, she has achieved numbers that are still to be equaled by anyone. She has won the Spanish Cup 11 times in both bouldering and difficulty. Currently, she is in charge of the technical department of Indoorwall, contributing with her knowledge. She has won one European Championship and several Spanish championships.
Pau Serracanta
Graduate in Law. Partner of the family wealth management company North Shore Investments SL, with interests in sport, new technologies, sustainability and real estate. Partner and Managing Director of Dorna Sports S.L. for over 20 years, a company that manages the commercial and TV rights of the MotoGP World Championship.
