Oakland-Hayward-Berkley ranks only behind the Orlando metro area for the most manufacturing growth among 71 large metropolitan cities.
Additionally, the Los Angeles-Glendale-Long Beach area, where Indie Source is based, is the largest industrial center in the nation, with 348,000 manufacturing jobs. Forbes notes that the LA area is one of only three large metro areas that still have more than 200,000 manufacturing jobs. Overall, the manufacturing industry across the United States has added 1.1 million jobs in the last eight years alone, according to the Institute for Supply Management. Additionally, manufacturers expect that job growth to increase by an additional 2% during the 2018 calendar year. This rounds out approximately 20 months of continuous growth, according to Forbes.
