Salient Features of the Workshop Held • Prof A K Gosain (IIT Delhi), Dr Geoff Adams and Dr Carl Daamen (eWater) gave presentations on Modelling in general and Modelling using eWater SOURCE • Hands on training was given to the participants by IIT Delhi Researchers (Jatin, Himanshu, Sankalp and Anupriya) and Dr R N Sankhua (CWC) • The participants were provided a pen drive containing all the data which was used for generating Basin specific models • There was general consensus on data sharing during the workshop for model building

Future Plans for Stakeholder Engagement •Research Model for Capacity Building • Engaging the Government officials and promoting them to undertake higher education at renowned institutions across the country to understand the latest technology in the field • Understanding and inducting the latest technology in the Research arena into practice requires the proper one to one interaction between the professionals and researchers • State funding of a “Network of excellence” for Modellers is essential for a unifying the countries water resources professionals

Inter Disciplinary Team for Capacity Building • Using eWater SOURCE as a platform or adapting it to Indian conditions requires a collaborative effort among Programmers or Developers, hydrologists, government officials and all the stakeholders, • The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, having specialists as researchers and Professors has been identified for doing the job • Inter-disciplinary pupil from social sciences to induct the legal and social practices in India in Water Resources Modelling • Existing Laws of Water Resources in India have a central role to play in the Modelling exercise, for example in Australia where entitlement of Water for groups of Water Users plays an important role in Modelling
