U.S. WORRIES ABOUT 'HOMEGROWN’ TERROR
WASHINGTON: The CIA fears that the growing instances of homegrown terrorists like David Headley would make other nations believe that the US is an "exporter of terrorism" and prompt them to reduce cooperation with it, according to fresh secret documents posted by WikiLeaks. In the classified papers posted by the whistleblower website, the CIA concluded that foreign governments would be less likely to cooperate with the US on deten-
tion, intelligence-sharing, and other issues in the wake of increasing number of home grown terrorists. "Primarily we have been concerned about Al-Qaeda infiltrating operatives into the United States to conduct terrorist attacks, but al-Qaeda may be increasingly looking for Americans to operate overseas," said the document. LOS ANGELES: On a hot summer day in San Fernando Valley, thousands of Indian Americans flocked to see India Independence day celebrations on August 21. The organizers also had another major attraction – India’s Ambassador, Meera Shankar was the chief guest at the Valley celebration of India Independence Day. Raman Chadha, Chairman of India Association of Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley), interrupting the well organized cultural program, welcomed the attendees and introduced Bobby Kumar, President of the association who while welcoming the ambassador, thanked Congressman Brad Sherman for facilitating the ambassador's trip to Los Angeles.
