Message from the Head of School

The journey that began on 3rd May, 2018 has reached its first major milestone – the 5th anniversary! I am reminded of Robert Frost’s immortal words, “Miles to go before I sleep!” There is still so much to accomplish – brand, new school building is under construction.

As Swami Vivekananda said, “Arise, awake, and stop not until your goal is reached,” the entire school community is working towards it.

Head of School

The dream journey began with a mere 17 students on day one and have reached an important milestone with over 300 students.

We are proud to have the middle, secondary and senior secondary CBSE affiliations under our belt in this very short time. With 100% results from our first 2 Grade 10 batches. Our first Grade 12 batch will be taking its Board Exam this year.

In our last Yearbook, we said, building our own premises is a dream to come true. This year, we are gradually realizing that dream. A big credit goes to all the parents and teachers who believed in that dream and have stood with us. We thank all of you who have been part this grand dream of the only CBSE school in Zambia!

Dr. Abdul Kalam once said, “Dream is not something you see when you sleep, it is something that does not let you sleep.” We are ever ready to burn the midnight oil.

Thank You!

At first, I wasn’t sure of my competency to cope up with the CBSE board as I had been studying the ECZ (Examinations Council of Zambia) board till G5, but with the help of my principal, amazing teachers, and my parents, I was able to overcome my difficulties which was quite enough to startle everyone by the end of my grade 6. The patience and faith of my teachers towards my success and potential is highly commendable. I sincerely appreciate the quality of the materials and the instructors on board. Teacher Tulasi and Alfasy Sir have always been there to aid my well-being and fitness. And the best part of Science class was the stories of experience we get to hear from sir even in the times of stress of examination or test. Teacher Mamatha had always been a motivator to my Math skills and made sure I asked as many questions as I had to clear all my doubts and stay focused. Teacher Jhili always encouraged me on practicing my writing skills to be the best. Teacher Geetha who had always been there for me whenever I got off track. Teacher Parul made sure that I was making the most of my day in an interactive and creative manner. Mrs. Money and Mrs. Murugappan the eldest and most experienced educators truly deserve the credits of making me a capable speaker in public. I would like to gracefully thank God for giving me an opportunity to be a part of the Indian School for the previous years and more. I would like to give my best wishes to the batch of 2024!

I would like to thank our beloved Principal mam Mrs Murugappan for creating an opportunity for us to study in the CBSE curriculum in Lusaka, Zambia. She is also a good teacher and we learnt so many good things under her guidance. Secondly, I would like to thank all our teachers who helped us to learn academic lessons and for paying special attention whenever we need so. Tr Alfasy, Tr Mamatha, Tr Jhilli, Tr Kripa always supported us and encouraged us to get good knowledge. I really thank Tr Tulasi and Tr Money for their additional support. I would like to thank Tr Benjamin, Tr Brian and Tr Wombani who trained us in sports like Basketball, volleyball, cricket etc. I really enjoyed in this school and have a lot of good memories. And last but not least I would like to thank all my friends for being supportive and friendly throughout my journey in this school.

The experience in the school has been a great contributor to the development of my personality. I have established my leadership, time management and team skills and have also been able to advance these skills to the whole new augment level. I got opportunity to lead the Yamuna house on sports day and also be a part of the school’s basketball team. The best thing about the school is the way the teachers helped me grow and help me clear all my doubts. With an attitude of being ever ready to help and not only delivering classroom teachings. I would like to thank Tr Kripa, Tr Mamatha, Tr Jhilli, Tr Tulasi and all other teachers who supported me. Special thanks to Principal ma’am for supporting me and also helping me learn new things. I aim to learn more things and grow the dictionary of my knowledge until I am a part of the school.

I would like to thank all my teachers for helping me through the years. I would like to thank Tr Jhili for encouraging me to learn Hindi and always trying to help me understand some words, Alfasy sir for all the real-life lessons and making understand that ‘’you should not memorize without understanding the concept “, Principal ma’am for the support I was given and for being such a good role model, tr Kripa for never discouraging me even if I got low marks, Tr Sunitha for being the kindest person I’ve ever seen and for always helping me, Tr Mamatha for being an inspiring teacher to me. I would have hated Maths, if it wasn’t for you and Tr Money for explaining every single concept very well. I would finally like to say to my classmates, my friends, my family and the school “Thank you for being there for me”.

To begin with, I would like to say that I am very honored to have been given this opportunity to present my experience.

My name is Reeya Manghnani, and I am a student of Indian School of Lusaka. I joined this school in grade 7, and I have now completed my board examinations of grade 10. Without the blessings of God, guidance and love of my parents and the lessons of all my teachers, I would not have been able to reach until this point.

This school has given me a lot in these 4 years. I would like to express my gratitude towards my teachers, who not only taught me but also guided me whenever I needed them. They have also encouraged me a lot to take part in various activities. First of all, I would like to thank Mrs Nagammai Murgappan, the principal of our school and also my English teacher, for improving my writing and reading skills in English. Secondly, I would like to thank Tr Mamatha, who solved every doubt of mine in Maths. Alfasy Sir is one of the most unique teachers I have ever seen. He is the best combination of a strict and jovial teacher. He always makes our class interactive. Tr Kripa and Tr Tulasi are the teachers who are more like friends to us, who continued teaching at ease yet being efficient. I would also like to thank Tr Jhili for teaching us each and every chapter of Hindi very nicely and also giving us tips and tricks to make Hindi easier for us.

Last but not the least, I would also like to thank my friends who did not allow me to get bored with all the silly entertainment and helped me whenever I needed them...

Thank you!

Since I have been interested in Business for years, I have chosen it as my dissertation topic. I have learned many concepts throughout the year in School and am still looking forward to learning new skills. I had the opportunity to gain a camping experience for my IYA award, went on educational trips and swimming sessions were enjoyable. I have so many memorable moments in the past year with my friends. I am grateful to all my teachers for their encouragement and support. Nothing can match the experience I have had in this school.
