Welcome Dear friends, The excitement is building in the historic Hilbert Circle Theatre as summer comes to a close. I am so glad to be back in our home base with you as we begin the 2019–2020 season. Our artistic leadership, musicians, and staff have spent countless hours preparing to share an amazing season with you, our Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra family. Music Director Krzysztof Urbański starts our 90th season with a favorite: Pictures at an Exhibition kicks off the Lilly Classical Series. We are thrilled to begin our first year of subscriptions to the Bank of America Film Series “in a galaxy far, far away” as the ISO performs Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in ConJames M. Johnson cert. Current “Phantoms” Ben Crawford and Ted Keegan join Chief Executive Officer Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly for a trip from Vienna to Broadway as this celebration of musical theater opens the Printing Partners Pops Series. Highlights for the coming year include: — A celebration of the talent within our orchestra as members of the ISO take center stage for Cinematic Symphony. — Maestro Urbański leads the ISO in a year-long celebration of one of the world’s most influential composers; BTHVN 2020 is part of a worldwide movement marking the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. — Step in time with Jack Everly as the ISO presents Mary Poppins in Concert Live to Film. We’re adding a bit of Las Vegas flair to our favorite holiday tradition—Frankie Moreno returns to our stage for his first year as host of the IPL Yuletide Celebration. This year we have it all: tap-dancing Santas, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, and some rock n’ roll to pep up your holiday season!
