Developing Tourism Cluster Akin to China Tourism activities can be strategized for local development. But the challenge is to search for competitiveness. Clusters, a competent tool to assess companies’ performance, can be used for the same. This article aims to propose a conceptual model to analyze how a tourism cluster can encourage its regional competitiveness.

he tourism economy in India and China is at present both under- networked and under- served. However, the ability to integrate those networks into clusters for creating wealth is a far more attractive offer that elevates the common issue of township parochialism. Tourism in India and China tends to be state driven and then regionally run in terms of destination marketing. Tourism clusters can range from a single location to multiple locations crossing state borders and beyond.
