He tied 75 ‘safas’ (each measuring 9 metres in length), one by one, on the head of another person. The record for performing the maximum number of aerial yoga poses was set by Sri Prajun Varma Vegesna of Bengaluru, Karnataka. He performed eleven aerial yoga poses including, aerial Padmasana, Vrikshasana, Salabhasana yoga poses for 11 minutes. He remained in each pose for one minute.

He loves the format of aerial yoga as it is anti-gravity, and helps to improve his concentration and flexibility.

Hard work and challenges are part of every achievement.

And in the case of Prajun, it was no different. “Initially, it was difficult for me to do aerial yoga, as I didn’t know the techniques. I approached my gurus and they helped me to do my best. Due to lockdown, I had no chance

of going to Yoga classes. But seeing my keen interest in aerial yoga, my father bought a hammock and encouraged me to continue my practice.

Since then, I started practicing every morning at home, and now finally I reached one of the milestones to make a record”, adds Prajun.

With gratitude in his heart, he talks about the immense support he received from his family, “ My parents and

grandparents are my biggest strength and support. They are the one who motivates me all the time; without their support, I wouldn’t have made it this far.”

In the future, he wants to break his records and wants to become a yoga guru and help promote good health.

The record for writing the maximum number of longest words was set by Mrityunjaya Chakrawarty of Bokaro, Jharkhand. She wrote nine longest words in one minute.

over the language,” says Mrityunjaya about her inspiration.

Since June 2021, she started her practice for the attempt. The speed and legibility of the words written posed a challenge, as her handwriting had to be legible enough to make it as a record.

Her target was at least 10 words, but she finished at 9.

Reminiscing about a funny incident related to the record, she giggles and says, “My husband was feeling very sleepy and started recording the video at 1:00 am. I gave him strict instruction to be

attentive and make a good quality video, so left with no choice but to comply with my instruction and stay awake. Poor husband.”

Mrintunjaya aims to bring change amongst the underprivileged and make people self-sufficient. She wants to help people build up confidence in developing their communication skills.

Innovative digital directory on tourism

The record for printing an innovative digital directory on tourism; was set by Jebi Issac Muttuvelil Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. This is the first digital directory of its kind in India that contains 3,078 dynamic QR codes including, tourist destinations, activities, events, business cards and classifieds.

Talking about the idea of the directory, he says, “As to find futuristic developments in the field of printing, we did a lot of research in the attempt to modernise. The concept of the digital directory was conceived, with the idea of how print media and visual media can be linked to the changing times. Using the latest digital concept of dynamic QR Codes, this directory will always remain updated. This directory will certainly usher in a new era in the field of printing and publishing.”

It is not an easy task to work and collate a directory of this proportion. To compile the directory, it took 12 staff and one whole year to complete all the data entry, designing, settings, proofreading, and other aspects. The directory has videos of over 1400 tourist destinations in Kerala and over 1600 digital business cards and advertisements.

“I always try to think differently. Many of my ideas have failed in the past, but those failures constantly inspire me to think creatively. This idea was born out of inspiration”, says Jebi.

This directory was published after a year of hard work, replacing everything else in his life. Realising the importance of the work, his wife and two children extended complete support to him. It is his wife upon whose suggestion Jebi applied for the India Book of Records.

Remembering the challenges he faced, he says, “The main challenge we faced was to set 3072 QR codes accurately, edit them and make them error-free in a

book format. The next challenge was to print the multi-coloured QR code carefully because if not printed properly, then the code would not be functional.”

Achieving this feat wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of the Kerala Tourism Department. Kerala Tourism shot the videos of all the tourist destinations, which helped make the directory a virtual tour. They also provided all the beautiful photos and descriptions along with video links.

Jebi wants to recover the lost glory of print media with this technological innovation and aims that the digital directory reaches every nook and corner of the world and in turn promote tourism in Kerala.

Maximum flags of countries identified by a toddler in one minute

he record for identifying the maximum number of flags of countries in one minute was set by Takshvi Sodani of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. She identified 43 flags of countries at the age of 2 years.

Takshvi Sodani is two times a record holder and displays exceptional ability to learn quickly. Her parents call her ‘Tiger Takshu’.

Talking about the teaching technique, her mother Garima says, “We create excitement for her to learn new things,

through flashcards, puzzles, and by repeating things in the form of rhymes. She took two months to learn all the flags.”

Her playful act and lack of concentration did pose a challenge for her parents while shooting for the record. But they wanted her to complete the task and make the record.

She practices regularly for 15 minutes a day.

Few other activities that keep Takshvi busy are chanting Mantra’s, solving map

puzzles, karate, and yoga.

She can also sing National Anthem along with many other patriotic poems.

Few tips from Takshvi’s parents Firstly, Parenting starts from pregnancy. Secondly, give positive affirmations and create a positive environment.

Thirdly, be yourself and try to impart knowledge, and don’t go after records.
