INSIDE THIS WEEK Staff Photo by Jeff Whitten
A pickup truck crashed in to a Ramer residence last Saturday. According to an Tennessee Electronic Crash Report by Sgt. Dwayne Stanford of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a maroon 2001 Ford Pickup driven by a 16-year-old juvenile was traveling west on Highway 57, when he veered off the right roadway edge and over-corrected. The truck then began to rotate in a counterclockwise motion as it crossed the center line. The vehicle then exited the left edge of the roadway pavement, struck miscellaneous shrubbery and then struck a residence owned by Jacky and Stacy Bauer at 5580 State Route 57. The Ford then came to rest protruding into the foundation of the building. Stacy said the truck slammed into her 15-year-old son’s bedroom and scared the entire family. The Bauers have another son. “It scared everybody. It woke us up. I heard when it hit,” Stacy said. The impact of the collision pushed young Mr. Bauer’s bed away from the wall. The truck came through the exterior wall into the house.
