StudentsCatalyst

In a highly demanding and disruptive workforce, labor market competitiveness perpetually increases. Thus, on December 16th, 2015, five motivated senior students of the community decided to establish StudentsCatalyst.

They believe this community will grow bigger, become more impactful, and be the leading platform to gather and connect highly motivated students to inspire and empower each other, to become high achievers, entrepreneurs, and initiators, and further collaborate to create something that is impactful to the nation.

In a fast-paced world, things change at an unprecedented rate, and being a lifelong learner is one of the most important things students need to adapt and learn skills that matter to face real-world challenges. However, problems arise when students only focus on their academicbased learning without developing their soft skill capabilities and gaining border perspective through networking. It’s essential for the young generation as the agents of change, to be inspired by high-achieving people to help them pursue their goals and dreams. Therefore, StudentsCatalyst is here, as a leading student foundation in Indonesia to help students expand their networks, develop themselves beyond any limitations, and prepare to build their career paths.

StudentsCatalyst is a student-led initiative that provides incubation for top-performing individuals to provide a network of highly motivated students to connect, share, and inspire each other. We are opening the doors of opportunity to more students across the nation. With that vision in mind, several programs like inspirational talks and hands-on projects have been designed to prepare them to ace their college & professional life. Network, Inspire, and Go Beyond.

Dear Catalysts of Change,

This message is intended not only as a farewell but also a timeless beacon of light, a reminder of who you are and what you have set out to achieve. These pages encapsulate the dreams, the courage, the resilience, and the potential that you, the 101 students, represent.

Let's not forget that this journey was not easy; it was fraught with challenges, hurdles, and yes, failures. But we must remember, failures are not the opposite of success, they are a part of success. They are the stepping stones, the lessons learned, the strength forged in the crucible of adversity.

So when you look back and see the failures you've encountered, don't see them as moments of defeat. Instead, view them as testament to your resilience, to your courage to venture beyond the known. Remember that a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. Embrace these moments of failures for they have shaped you, molded you into the trailblazers you are today.

Each time you open this yearbook, remember the spirit of StudentsCatalyst, remember the aspiration that brought us together - to inspire, to network, to go beyond. Let it fill you with motivation and hope. Let it remind you that you are capable, you are strong, and you are full of potential.

As you move forward in life, hold this truth close: your journey does not end here. Just as we are always students, we are always catalysts too. Be catalysts in your professions, in your communities, in the society you interact with. Continue to inspire and be inspired, continue to forge connections, continue to push the boundaries of what's possible.

And above all, remember your duty towards society. Each one of us has a role in building a better world. Use your knowledge, your skills, your influence, to create a positive impact. Help those less fortunate, stand up for what's right, continue to learn and educate others.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

Let this be our measure of success. Let us strive to leave the world a bit better than we found it.

As we each embark on our unique paths, remember you are never alone. You carry with you the spirit of StudentsCatalyst, the memories shared, the lessons learned, and a network of fellow catalysts cheering you on.

Remember: Never stop trying. Never stop learning. Never stop making a difference. We believe in you, today and always. Selamat berjuang!

Warm Regards, Firmansjah Muhammad

Reward and Recognition

Best Peers - Pairing Best Peers - individual

“I think mentorship is a two-way street. I am not a good mentor, if I hadn’t been paired with my good mentees (shoutout to Velisa, Raisa, Jeff, Zam). Witnessing their growth has been incredibly rewarding. Hence, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on these aspiring individuals. (p.s.,  I’m super lucky to have Hagi as my partner as well, he is awesome!)”

“First and foremost, I’m definitely honored to be given this title. I don’t think its actually because I’m a great peer, rather I think it had a lot to do with my mentee’s enthusiasm and a similarity in our passions. It really helped me connect my experience with their aspirations. I am honored to be trusted by these exceptional and high performing individuals to guide them for the last six months. Seeing them grow, achieving their targets, and seizing opportunities is very rewarding. Secondly, I had a lot of help from Ivonne (my partner), both in delivering materials and building relationship with the mentees. Lastly, mentoring is a two way street. From my interactions with my mentee’s, I’ve absorbed a lot of knowledge from them that I have never known before. The experience is definitely one that I will continuously cherish.”

Becoming part of StudentsCatalyst 2 years ago drastically changed my life to experience amazing things. However, deciding to give back to the community improved my life even more. I got to meet and know exceptional peers and the management team whom I’ve learned many new things from. Importantly, I happened to meet individuals, especially the students I’m responsible for, that successfully impressed me with each of their stories and capabilities.

All I can say is I am beyond grateful to become part of this wonderful community and wish all people can feel the same way.

VALEDICTORIAN student

What gets you up in the morning?

“ ” was the question given to me in one of my interviews.

In my life, I have always been sure that creating an impact is what drives me forward every day. Having that mindset in mind, I took the leap of faith to apply as a Student of StudentsCatalyst National Batch 3. And I must say, there is no regret in taking that decision.

StudentsCatalyst has been a major part of my development as an individual. It has not only given me opportunities to succeed, but also room for failure. I remember witnessing the brilliant final presentations of fellow students at the first

Internal Case Competition, and it left a huge mark on me. It motivated me to learn from my shortcomings and to strive even better. I was also blessed by the chance to learn from the nation’s brightest people. This family has been nothing but an inspiration, for me in continuing my journey during and post-StudentsCatalyst National Batch 3. I finally concluded, that creating impact is becoming a better version of me each day.

With that being said, I would like to express my honor, as I am more than thankful to have the chance given to me in representing the students as the valedictorian of this batch. I would also like to express my utmost gratitude to the management team, for the hard work in crafting such a meaningful programme. To the remarkable peers, for the guidance and knowledge shared along the journey, and to the wonderful students, for the unforgettable experience and insight given, I'd like to express my utmost gratitude to you all.

StudentsCatalyst National Batch 3 may have ended, but our journey as a renewed individual is around the corner. Hence, step forward and “Inspire, Network, and Go beyond”.
